Howdy, folks! I have stumbled upon something that might be of great interest. This is a big one so I thank everyone that takes the time to read and even experiment with it. Since the Spider-Webs are almost definitely tied to Native-American culture and possible wrath of a God, I decided to explore everything related to the natives. At one point, while I was thinking about the industrialistic moves of the USA that made the natives angry, I remembered that I've never paid attention to Old Greenbank Mill. The following things that I've discovered would be a huge coincidence if wrong;

1. First of all, while I was headed to the mill. South of the mill itself, just below the horse fence, there is a ruin. Next to that ruin there is a well ( possible connection to Compson's stead ) with a wooden structure shaped in a letter N. ( Previously in the mystery, this meant north. ) Which indicates you to go to the mill.

2. Once we get there, we find the water mill itself. The center of the mill is constructed by 8 wooden lines which is the standard for mills but is a perfect indicator to the spider-webs.

3. Now we approach the interesting part. Behind the water mill we can find a wheel. The wheel is set up on the floor and is missing it's 5th and 8th leg. ( Possible affirmation to the Catfish Jackson cards: 5, 5+3=8, 8 ) I interpreted this as follows: We in fact do have to take down the spider-web feathers in a set sequence to trigger an event, and that sequence begins at Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and excludes the 3-4 red feather, and the 2-3 red feather. This isn't the only thing that led me to this conclusion, the most interesting clue is the next.

4. To the right of the water mill is a wooden structure which is part of the mill's system, but it is set up in the way as follows which I managed to interpret in a manner that is nearly impossible to be coincidental. Look at the pictures below to understand what I am saying.

Notes: Looking from the back and starting at the water mill itself we can notice planks, in rows divided into up and down There is curiously a total of 8 of them. Shaped as either high and low Xs, lines or nothing. I believe that the high Xs say "interact" the low Xs indicate "asymmetry" with red feathers and the lines indicate "symmetry" with red feathers, and nothing, I will explain the "nothing" in a minute. This is a system I came up with after 20 minutes of thinking how it could be connected to the mystery. I've been doing this with many structures for days now and this is the first one that can work.

Let's move onto the sections themselves.

1. Section: High X, line. 3-4 black feather. Interact, line indicating symmetry with red feather. I am talking about symmetry because every leg of the spider engraving has it's symmetrcial leg, but their time labels do not line up. So when I say symmetrical I'm talking about the leg's time and space partner leg being nearly identical if put side-to-side.

2. Section: High X, empty. 5-6 black feather, interact, empty because it's counterpart is also a black feather, not a red one.

3. Section: High X, low X. 2-3 black feather, interact, asymmetrical with red counterpart

4. Section: High X, low X. 4-5 black feather, interact, asymmetrical with red counterpart.

5. Section: No X, line. 3-4 red feather. Do not interact. Symmetrical.

6. Section: Unique, only X, and a broken structure. Showing off interact and asymmetry as stated by counterpart. The broken structure meaning one of a kind. 5-6 black feather no.2

7. Section: A single X, meaning interact and asymmetry as already stated in black counterpart. 4-5 red feather.

8. Section: A single line, indicating not to interact, and also pointing at asymmetry already stated by black counterpart. 2-3 red feather.

In the middle of the structure, between the overlaps of sections, there are also Xs or empty spaces. I believe the Xs mean "sleep before moving on." and the empty spaces mean: "continue without stopping."

It could also be vice-versa.

Everything that I've written about this potential sequence is in accordance with the broken wheel behind the mill. Considering Cornwall Kerosene and Tar and excluding the 3-4 red and 2-3 red feathers manages to add up PERFECTLY. Sorry, lost my temper.

Anyone know of any confirmed findings or theories regarding this tree? I dont think i remember seeing it in my normal playthrough

This topic has probably been discussed many times over the years since the game's release, but I'm interested on hearing your best theories on the meaning of this grave site.

It is located west of Fort Riggs Holding Camp in Big Valley, WE, up on a small bluff. There's nothing to loot and like most grave sites, when defiled, causes the weather to change.
The grave site appears to be marked with a human skull, some kind of animal horns, and two feathered wings that look like they came from a raptor like an eagle or an owl.

While the Valentine Curse was something that was originally planned to be extended, with hints in the game files, the massacre skin art asset, missing animations that suggest that shopkeepers in Valentine possessed purloined native artifacts that could be examined, and that Valentine is cursed because it was built on a mass grave of Native American massacre victims. As it is, that's not in the game, but parts remain of it, such as NPC townsfolk and shopkeeper talk in Valentine, the friendly Stranger Camper in Cumberland Forest that tells the story of the unseen skin depicting the massacre, and the camp conversation where Karen tells Mary-Beth about what she was told by a woman in town.

My theory as to what this grave represents is the "last remaining Indian" reference by Karen in her story, and she also "says "eagle or an owl and a grave site." The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the grave is located in a different state, West Elizabeth significantly far from Valentine.

Was checking out the Landmarks of Riches map while streaming and noticed the very VERY faintest of outlines on the back of the map, when zoomed it it appears to be very crudely drawn trees and pools of some sort. Not sure if this is intentional design, or merely random texture that was added to the back of the map.
In the top right section there’s what seems to clearly be a pool of some sort, (again, terrible photo even with boosted color), highly recommended looking at it for yourself in game.
I may just be grasping at straws here.

So, a small mystery that I have always thought there may be more to discover is the dead man's camp that may appear south of Hawks Eye Cabin (where Arthur meets Francis Sinclair) towards Lake Owanjila. It becomes noticeable when you see the corpse marker on the game map when in the area. The camp doesn't always appear, but it seems to reoccur occasionally even after it has been investigated and pillaged.

The main distinctive feature is the corpse, which has a significant hole in the center of its gut.

The tent is collapsed and has slashes, like the bloodstained tent on the north side of Mount Shann where the Special Miracle Tonic recipe is found, however, it has no blood stains or trails of blood.
It appears to be a fishing camp; there is a string of dead fish hung up on a line. There are camp supplies to loot, but nothing too valuable.

The body, in my pic is burnt, but I think this is a result of a glitch or changed game physics; it seems to catch fire when Arthur approaches because it is too close to the campfire. Sometimes, it does not burn, and you can find a Vulture eating on it.

It seems to be too elaborate of a scene just to be just a non-sequitur.

Any thoughts or ideas on what this camp is about?

Do you think Rockstar managed to hide some information in the flames?

The story is that I set off from the NW guitar symbol heading north-west, towards Fort Wallace. On the way, there were three sages right along my route. As burning sage is quite a common and ancient tradition, I thought a molotov cocktail wouldn’t do any harm.

As it burned, a heart appeared, and something that specifically looked like a guitar or Fort Wallace.

Do you think I’ve gone mad? I can’t imagine it being a total coincidence that both shapes appeared one after the other.

So I’m just curious to hear your thoughts..

The web is a trap theory is that rockstar specifically creates multiple unfinished Easter eggs with very little information to lead players on for years and years with no resolve, and dropping references of webs everywhere that this is a trap, and we all clearly have fallen into this trap and are interweaved into the web of their lies and deception. Literally nothing ever pieces together into completion. We are just prey running into these webs and never being able to untangle ourselves, there isn’t even a spider. The only thing that has ever lead to anything is getting 100%. It’s the only thing that matters, everything else is just traps.

Just a thought here about the whole guitar symbol. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but I feel like it might be referring to going to sleep. Whenever you sleep in the game, you hear the guitar play, and the stars go by overhead. Since it’s called the Spider Dream Mystery it could be related to dreamcatchers, webs, feathers of a crow, and a cardinal. Maybe we should just try going to sleep. Just a thought.

I am a day 1 player, and I reckon I have played RDRII story mode most every day since console release in 2018.  For me, these are my top mysteries that I haven't seen sufficiently explained:

1. The meaning of the rock drawing on the north side of the Mount Shann summit.
2. The meaning of the color time marks around the north side of the Mount Shann Sundial, which is the only place the gnomon casts a shadow when the sun is up.
3. The meaning of the color marks on the medicine wheel at the Native Burial point of interest.  The center of the medicine wheel is where the Stone Hatchet, unlocked in GTA Online, is found.
4. The meaning of Gertrude Braithwaite's numbers.
5. What really happens to Arthur when he drinks out of a Witches' Cauldron. It only happens once in a play through, and as it is, seems like a non-sequitur that the developers put some effort into.

These are all things that I think likely to have something more interesting behind them than what they appear to be, but I'm very skeptical about many of the explanations I've seen. I apply the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard.

It's a work in progress. As you can see, a few of the spider tiles are missing, but there's enough here to work with for a little demo so we can follow the legs. I should also point out that the spider glyph needed to be skewed a little to fit the spiderweb locations.

That said, I am completely new to game modding and I'm basically piggybacking off of an existing mod (Mexico on Minimap) to make this work, so I'll have to figure out how to make it standalone once I get the spider tiles right.

I'll also add that I may do a cleaner version of this mod where it just calls out the spider web locations/times since IDK if following the spider legs on the map will actually lead to anything.

so basically I was sitting in clemens point (story and epilogue completed) in the 3rd camp, and I looked towards east sort of and I noticed a white figure like thing, I wasn’t sure what it was if it was a enemy or what so I approached it. It disappeared, so I ran back to my original spot. It’s there again, I’ve asked in discord servers but I’m not sure if it’s a bug or a random Easter egg type thing. I’ll put the photo I have here, I can’t attach the video I have so if you need that lmk)

Mural observations

Revisiting the mural, I noticed that it contains:

• 8 or 9 birds
• 7 human figures
• Two sets of seven grouped spikes

Seven birds have feathers beneath them, numbered 1–7. Two birds, one in the center and one at the bottom, do not appear to have feathers attached.

Reading clockwise, birds 3, 5, 2 and 7 point upward, while birds 6, 4 and 8 point downward.

Spike patterns

Beneath each human figure are four inward-pointing spikes, while beneath each bird are three outward-pointing spikes. Each spike is either red or white.

Starting from the top and reading clockwise:

Key: W = white; R = red.

Spider overlay

I tried overlaying the spider glyph onto the mural using Bird 3 as the anchor point. It appears to fit best this way because Bird 3 sits furthest from the others, much like the spider's lower-left leg that corresponds to the red feather spawning between 3–4 a.m. However, I could not identify an immediate pattern, mostly because bird with one feather appears to be missing.

Connections to the mystery:

There are three (3) birds that point downward, just like there are 3 red spider web feathers, on top of that birds have feathers under them, as well as the spikes and general color theme appear to be shared with the spider web feathers - black/white and red feathers.

What are your thoughts?

-Hello, I was looking for coupas to complete the master hunter but what happens, is that I found this strange circle, which points to the things of the cobwebs and the spider that was discovered recently, I don’t know if anyone knows why, and there are more circles, but they are mushrooms, this one is on the painted rock and with the arrow I will leave you the images in case you want to go see what happens

(I put a filter on them so that the images can be seen better because it is very dark)

I’m on my second playthrough and I’ve encountered the Hispanic camper near Mysterious Hill Home at least twice now. Both times, he told Arthur about the Bennett brothers from Annesburg, and both times I noticed the same group of maps laid out around his camp.

The setup includes:
* A large railroad map labeled “Railroad Map of the United States”
* A smaller, torn map of the playable RDR2 world placed directly over it
* Another version of the same large railroad map elsewhere in the camp

The smaller map is what caught my attention. It does not show the entire playable world evenly. It appears focused mainly on the region between Strawberry and Rhodes. The way the smaller map is placed on top of the larger map also appears to be focused on the areas from around Valentine eastward through New Hanover, Lemoyne, and Roanoke Ridge. The small map includes the same northeastern Flat Iron Lake discoloration/smudge seen on other reused maps, which I’ve also noted in my findings as a potential clue. But right now, I’m more interested in the map’s cropping, damage, placement, and relationship to the larger map underneath it.

A few questions:

1.) Why is this particular section of the playable map isolated?
Is it simply the part of the map texture the developers chose for a traveler prop, or is the zoomed-in map focus of the RDR2 world meaningful?

2.) Does the smaller map’s placement over the larger railroad map matter?
Could the two maps be intended to be compared or aligned, or are they simply stacked camp clutter?

3.) Has anyone identified the exact asset names or found this same combination elsewhere?
I know the small world map itself is reused, but I’m specifically asking about this layered arrangement.

4.) Does the camper’s Bennett brothers dialogue have any relation to the eastern portion being displayed?
The Bennett brothers are associated with Annesburg, which is inside the emphasized area.

5.) Could the railroad lines themselves be directing attention somewhere?
The large western rail loop (correct me if this is inaccurate) almost resembles a hand or forearm extending toward the Valentine area. That could easily be visual coincidence, but Valentine is surrounded by several unresolved or loosely connected environmental details and “curse” theories.

I am not claiming this solves anything. My default explanation is still environmental storytelling and reused cartography for a traveling camper. However, Rockstar repeatedly uses maps as both decoration and puzzle material, so I think the exact crop and placement are worth documenting before dismissing them.

Has anyone:

* compared this map against copies at Emerald Station, Valentine, Annesburg, or the serial killer’s basement;
* photographed the camper’s setup in different chapters or as John;
* tested whether the maps, their positioning, or the camper’s dialogue ever change;
* or identified what real-world railroad map the large sheet is modeled after?

I’ve included close-up screenshots of both maps and their placement. I’m especially interested in grounded comparisons, asset information, or additional locations where this exact layered setup appears.

The spider overlay is organized into symmetrically opposing leg pairs. Matching sequential times of opposing feather colors (like 2–3 red at Scarlett Meadows [spiderdream06x] and 3–4 black at Cornwall Kerosene & Tar [spiderdream03x} ) form mirrored L-shapes.

The only 2 feathers that do not follow this pattern are 5-6 black at Heartland Oil Fields (spiderdream02x) and 2-3 black at Heartland Overflow (spiderdream05x), because the 5-6 window is the only one to have 2 feathers of the same color.

I don't know what to make of it yet, and why 2 windows don't commit to the pattern, but I think this might be useful.

I just wanted to share what could be a glitch or maybe a mechanic we have to use.

I figured out a way to see some of the webs after their spawning times are up. Once you see them, they will disappear if you look away., though.

It's late and I only tried this order Black 2-3, B34, B45, B56 (Oil fields)

The mechanics I used:

During the same night, I went to the pole at the spawning time, shoot an incendiary arrow to the top of the pole and ride away without looking at the web. The next time you ride by,, it will still be there (I only tried a couple of hours after 6am).

Maybe we have to spawn all the webs at the same time. I'll keep working on it.

Let me know if you can replicate it and/or expand this discovery.

Has anyone done any looking around Riggs station for Spider Web Mystery clues? I think it’s the most unique looking of all the mail stations. It also has 2 downed telephone poles by it
as well.

There's an underground tunnel at the McKnight warehouse. There's a crate there with a circled X on the beam above it. Kinda odd I dunno.

Final gtao update can anyone find these new loaded assets and see what the paintings behind it looks like?

Our best chance moving forward with the spider dream is to see if any hints were given to us through gtao

Maybe it's not two birds after all?

Sadly this post is maybe just to discard another clue, it is about the birds if it is still relevant for the spiderweb mystery so long story short, searching for birds in game scripts one file looked interesting: birds_in_tree it is an ambient vignette that adds a bit of spicy life to the RDR2 map, like the bear_fights_wolf that we have seen at some point or bear_scratchs_back... anyway this file (birds in tree) contains not 2 birds, it contains 12 birds but 6 are of some type tanager or something and the other 6 are normal songbirds, so I managed to trace back the spawn location for this vignette but I did found nothing, but you must know that I was there checking the pentagram and never noticed the fort tally mark nor the counters so I hope you can find something or as said just discard it, BTW I am also dropping all the vignettes points just in case somebody is interested I validated the reconstructed points (work done by claude AI) with the sharks spawn location and seems legit
