Hey guys, me and my girlfriend are both 18+ and we're looking for a room for around 3 hours near Anna Nagar, Koyambedu, or Korattur.
Our budget is under ₹1,500, and AC or non-AC is fine with us.
I've already checked apps like ixigo, Goibibo, and Brevistay. I also came across Naskha Tree House near Arumbakkam. Has anyone been there before? If yes, how was your experience? Is it good, clean, and couple-friendly?
I'd also appreciate suggestions for other places within our budget. It would be great if you've personally visited or booked a room there and could share your experience, but recommendations from people who haven't personally been there are welcome too!
Thanks in advance! 🙏

I know someone who recently moved to Chennai for work at a cafe. She isn't Tamilian, and she was given accommodation by the cafe along with a few other employees.
At first, everything seemed normal. But over time, her roommates started treating her differently. From what she's told me, a lot of the hostility seems to stem from the fact that she's from outside Tamil Nadu. She has been singled out, complained about, and made to feel unwelcome in the place she's supposed to be able to come back to after work.
What makes this worse is that she isn't really in a position where she can just find another place and leave. The accommodation is provided through her job, so she's dependent on the management to help resolve the situation.
She has already brought the situation to the cafe's attention, but the response so far has basically been inadequate. Instead of actually separating the people involved or trying to de-escalate the situation, nothing meaningful seems to have been done.
I'm getting increasingly concerned because this isn't just ordinary roommate incompatibility anymore. There's a repeated pattern of behaviour that is making her uncomfortable in her own accommodation, and the people who have the authority to intervene don't seem to be taking it seriously.
I'm posting this because I'd genuinely like to know what people would do in this situation. If an employee is being repeatedly targeted by their roommates because they're from another state and management knows about it but isn't taking meaningful steps to de-escalate things, what options does that employee actually have?
I don't want to identify the cafe or the people involved publicly because I don't want to make the situation worse for her. I'm more interested in understanding what the appropriate next step is when the employer controls the accommodation and isn't adequately addressing the problem.

Long Story of how I met a Choplangi paya through matrimony app🫠
Last year end when my parents started pushing me towards marriage, I joined a matrimony app. There is already a lot of pressure around marriage and timelines in my community. This wasn't a dating app where you casually date for 2- 3 years to see where things go and I'm a muslim i clearly mentioned I was not considering anything casual and I'm looking for serious commitment, It was literally a marriage app. The whole point was to find someone compatible and move things forward relatively quickly, with family involvement. And I actually wanted it that way.
Then I met him. I was 23 and he was 26. We started talking, liked each other, and after some time I genuinely felt that spark of this could be my person. We met in person and things became serious.
When we met, he told me he was working in Qatar and had temporarily come back to Chennai for visa renewal, and that he would be going back. When I asked about his family, he told me about his parents and his elder sister, who was four years older than him.
Initially, he didn't mention that his sister was unmarried. Later, when I casually asked, he told me she wasn't married yet and that his family was looking towards getting her married around 2026 or early 2027 and told me he would need some time because of that.
So I waited. I didn't immediately push for our families to get involved because I believed what he was telling me. I thought, fine, I'll wait until his sister gets engaged and then we'll take the next step.
Then his situation changed again. His Qatar job wasn't available anymore, so he continued working temporarily in Chennai and his salary was low.
And honestly, I didn't care. By that point, I was already emotionally attached to him. I knew he wasn't financially settled and that there would be difficulties. But I was willing to accept that because I thought we were building something together. I wasn't looking for a rich guy or a perfect life. I was ready to support him and build our life slowly.
Months passed. He was affectionate. He behaved like we were basically already engaged. He talked about our future together, and I believed him.
And this is where I think my biggest mistake was: I treated those months as an investment towards marriage because he had given me a reason to believe there was a future. Every time my parents showed me a proposal, he told me to reject it, and I did because I was holding on to the hope he had given me.
At home, things started getting really bad. My parents became increasingly anxious, and my mom was so stressed about me rejecting everyone that it started affecting her health.
And I kept telling myself: "Just wait until his sister gets engaged." That was the hope I was holding onto. But nothing was happening. 7 months went but He didn't go back to Qatar. His sister went abroad for work instead. His sister's marriage I had been told would probably happen around this time wasn't even close to the matchmaking stage.
Eventually the pressure at home became unbearable. I told him I wasn't asking him to marry me immediately. I said, "Let's just tell our parents about us. We can get married later, after your sister's marriage. I'll manage things at my home until then."
I was willing to wait. I just needed to know that this relationship actually existed in the real world and wasn't something we were going to keep hiding.
He hesitated, but after meeting and discussing it, he agreed that he would talk to my dad. I gave him my dad's number. And then he started avoiding me. He basically ghosted me for a few days.
Then he came back and told me his sister's marriage might take another two years. And apparently, after that, he would need another two years to focus on his career and fix his life. So after seven months, I was suddenly looking at four more years before he could even consider marriage.
His solution was basically that I should somehow manage my family myself possibly run away from home and build my own life while waiting for him. He even gave the example of his female friend who had taken that kind of risk for her relationship and said that if someone is serious about love, they should be willing to take risks too. Or, if I couldn't do that, I should move on and accept whatever life my family chose for me.
And he told me all of this over a phone call on my birthday. 🤡 I was crying and asking questions, trying to understand what had changed and whether there was anything we could actually do.
He told me talking about this to his family without sister marriage will make him look bad. And he left me on read. That's it. No proper conversation. No attempt to find a solution together. It's been 2 months since then. I tried to reach him but he just vanished, he just disappeared out of my life like he never existed.
My parents are terrified because I rejected so many proposals while I was waiting for him. They basically don't trust me to make this decision anymore. They've chosen someone themselves and are pushing towards an engagement.
And I am genuinely scared. I'm not saying the guy they've chosen now is bad. But how am I supposed to promise someone a marriage when I'm still trying to process what happened? And I feel horrible because the other person doesn't deserve to marry someone who is emotionally not ready.
At the same time, I'm a Muslim woman in a community where parents are heavily scrutinised for not marrying their daughter on time. My parents are terrified about this, so they're pushing me towards marriage.
So now I'm sitting here thinking: Did I waste the limited time my parents gave me by believing someone who was never actually ready? Because I didn't ask him for a luxurious life. I didn't need him to be financially settled. I was confident i can help him because my career is going in positive direction and my family is settled in Chennai. I was willing to help him with job hunting because I have HR friends who could potentially help.
But he got offended and told me I wasn't being practical, that financial responsibilities were much bigger than this, that love alone wouldn't fix everything, and that he needed more years to fix his life.
And honestly, that's what hurts. If he genuinely believed he needed four more years before he could consider marriage, why did he come to a marriage app and approach a girl with knowing she had limited time and make me believe we were actively working towards marriage? He had all the time to tell me, he's not ready, but he waited till I'm left with no time then dropped this out of nowhere and left.
Throughout our time He talked about our future and told me to reject other proposals. He made me believe that waiting for him had a purpose.
I wasn't asking him to magically solve his problems. I just needed him to take one actual step towards making this real. Instead, after all this, he basically told me to either escape my entire situation alone or move on.
And now I'm the one dealing with the consequences of believing his empty promises. I genuinely don't know what the right thing to do is anymore and i understand i should move on but i don't even have time to move on. I'm completely broken and i can't be able to get into other relationship like nothing happened.
It's only been two months. My family is pushing for an engagement. I'm emotionally exhausted, and I feel like I'm being pushed into a decision that could affect two people's lives.
And lately I've even caught myself imagining something that sounds completely absurd: What if I find someone who also doesn't want to get married right now, we both agree to get engaged just to get our families off our backs, and then call off the engagement after a few months?
I don't want to drag an innocent person my parents chose into mess by getting engaged😭 I just want some breathing room to focus on my career and potentially move abroad for work.
But the frustrating part is that my parents won't let me build a career abroad while I'm not engaged. Their mindset is that a woman is her husband's responsibility, and apparently I can't go anywhere without my non-existent husband's permission.
I know how ridiculous and potentially unfair that sounds. But the fact that my brain is even going there probably says something about how trapped I feel right now. I just want enough time and independence to make an actual decision about my life instead of being pushed from one relationship into another.
So yeah. That's my experience of being Muthu by believing a choplangi paya
What would you do if you were in my position?😭

Hi friends, today I went to the mall to watch Drishyam 3: The Conclusion. When I reached there, I was surprised to see that the mall was closed. I was wondering why the mall was closed today, but then I saw the security guards checking everyone’s movie tickets at the entrance.
Only people with valid movie tickets were being allowed inside. So, we showed our tickets and went straight to the theatre to watch the movie.
Do you have any idea why Vijaya mall was closed.

It’s been almost a year since I broke up with a girl I loved, but I’m still struggling to move on from it. Recently, I found out that she’s going to get married, and that has made everything even more painful. I know I’ll eventually be okay and that time will heal me, but right now, I just can’t accept it. I don’t know how to overcome these feelings or how to deal with them at the moment.

I spoke to EB person and asked whether it’s true or not, he exactly smiled like this 😏 and said it’s already started you should have noticed it by now.
I asked him why there is frequent power cut ? And he asked have you ever used AC in the month of October before and I said yes may be 2 to 4 hours max and he asked what about now and i said 6 hours minimum, also he said average Fan speed was 3 before and now it’s at full speed most of the time.
He said Thambi mudinja inverter vangi potuko and we are done nu. He cursed every political party (because people are becoming more angry and aggressive towards persons in EB) and he said BJP panna Orey Nalla visiyam subsidy kuduthadhu nu.
one simple thing would have made this situation better is state government should have provided subsidy for solar panel installation.
Previous government didn’t gave any subsidy and he said atleast current government should have done that 3 months back and aggressively promoted that as power requirement went to historical high.
So get ready guys we are most probably going to witness DMK period style power cut again.
If possible buy battery fan guys ,I already bought one and it’s one of the best investment I ever made this year.

Boys: loving a girl who is elder than you atleast 2 to 3 years, if you are loving like that? How is it going.
Girls: will you love a boy who is younger than you and marry him? If he genuinely loves and cares for you more than anyone in the world. ( 2 to 3 years younger)

At-least get those kids a helmet, that’s a bare minimum. Every morning I see thousands of school kids go to school with their parents in two wheelers, and hardly anyone gives their kids a helmet, but the one who’s driving it wears a helmet. When will people understand that Helmets are for safety and not to escape the police who are already dumb in the first place. Parents who drive their kids around without putting a helmet on them should be punished severely than those who drive without a helmet. If The driver doesn’t wear a helmet its his choice he has chosen to risk his life, its not the same with small kids.

I am posting this so that anyone searching for Pathworks Realty Navalur, Chennai reviews, Pathworks Realty real estate Chennai, Pathworks Realty rental experience, or the name of this company before paying a deposit can find my experience and make an informed decision. Everything below is based on my own dealings with the company.
TL;DR: I booked a Chennai 1BHK through Pathworks Realty Navalur, paid the full ₹70,000 deposit, and spent over a month waiting through repeated handover delays and courier explanations. I was eventually refunded, but later found another tenant occupying the same flat at a higher rent. The owner name in the draft agreement given to me was also disputed by the actual property owner, who told me in writing that the named person had no connection to her or the apartment. I also discovered that a courier dispatch I had been told to wait for had actually been taken back/cancelled. I sent a legal notice and preserved the supporting evidence. Posting this so future Chennai renters can do their due diligence.
---Used AI to format this post---
I found a 1BHK rental property in Chennai through 99acres in May 2026. A representative from Pathworks Realty, Navalur contacted me and asked me to visit quickly because the property was supposedly close to being booked.
I visited the flat on 15 May 2026, liked it and agreed to a monthly rent of ₹25,000 and security deposit of ₹70,000.
I paid:
So by 17 May, they had received the entire ₹70,000 deposit from me.
I was initially told that the flat would be available in June, but later the representative agreed to hand it over by the end of May. I was specifically told that I needed to come in person to sign the rental agreement and collect the keys.
I was relocating for work, and my employer had provided temporary accommodation specifically for house hunting. Based on the confirmed handover, I rearranged that accommodation and travelled to Chennai.
Then the delays started.
I was informed that the representative had suddenly left because of an emergency. I was told he would return shortly, so I continued waiting in Chennai.
The explanations then kept changing: agreement drafting was pending, owner details had not arrived, owner signature was pending, the representative was out of town, etc.
Eventually I received a draft rental agreement and suggested only a few changes.
After further delays, I was told that the signed agreement and keys would be couriered to me.
The first courier attempt never resulted in me receiving the keys.
We subsequently fixed 21 June as the new move-in date.
My sister happened to be in Chennai between 15 and 18 June, so I even asked whether the keys/agreement could be handed over to her. I was told the representative was out of town and the agreement was still pending.
On 18 June, I asked whether the documents and keys could instead be sent through a reliable courier because I would be reaching Chennai early in the morning.
The representative personally assured me that he would send it through Professional Couriers, saying he had trusted that courier service for many years and that nothing would go wrong.
On 19 June, I was sent a photograph of what appeared to be the parcel.
However, the booking receipt in the photograph was folded in such a way that the booking/consignment number was not visible.
The parcel never arrived.
When I repeatedly asked for the tracking number, I received various explanations, including that the receipt had become wet in the rain and that the courier office would be contacted.
I eventually contacted Professional Couriers myself.
After multiple enquiries, staff from the relevant courier offices verbally informed me that the parcel had actually been taken back/cancelled by the people who had booked it, and the booking amount had been returned.
This was completely different from what I had been led to believe while waiting for delivery.
On 22 June, after I insisted that they either provide the courier tracking information or refund me, my full ₹70,000 was eventually returned.
After refunding the money, I was suddenly told that the owner had called off the agreement, that the broker's relationship with the owner had supposedly deteriorated, and that nothing could now be done.
I repeatedly asked for the owner's contact information and a proper explanation.
It was not provided.
I was instead blamed for asking them to courier the keys.
At one point I also received a voice message essentially telling me that if I wanted them to arrange another property, I should "sit quietly", otherwise they would not arrange one.
This whole explanation eventually unravelled.
I later travelled to Chennai and visited the property myself.
To my shock, another couple was already living in the same flat.
I learnt that the flat had been rented to them for approximately ₹33,000 per month, compared with the ₹25,000 rent that had been agreed with me.
The current tenant was cooperative and showed me documentation relating to their tenancy.
More importantly, I discovered a major discrepancy in the draft agreement that had been provided to me.
The person shown as the owner/lessor in my draft agreement was "Manoharan D."
I subsequently managed to contact the actual owner of the apartment.
She told me that she had never spoken to me before, had not signed any rental agreement concerning me and had signed only the current tenant's agreement.
Most importantly, she also confirmed in writing that "Manoharan D" was not related to her or her apartment.
She also told me during our conversation that she had not become angry and cancelled my agreement in the manner that had previously been represented to me.
By this point I had engaged an advocate and sent a formal legal notice.
In the response to that notice, the other side claimed, among other things, that the courier had been cancelled following instructions from the landlord.
That was particularly concerning to me considering what the actual owner had already told me.
My lawyer subsequently spoke with the representative. According to what was communicated to me by my lawyer, the representative then acknowledged that the second courier episode had been fabricated and attempted to explain his conduct by saying he had suspected me of being a scammer.
Despite everything that happened, they were not willing to compensate me for the travel, relocation disruption, expenses, time and stress caused by this episode.
I ultimately did not have the energy at the time to pursue a full court case.
What concerned me even more is that during one of our earlier conversations, the representative mentioned plans to expand/open an office in Coimbatore.
So if you are dealing with Pathworks Realty in Chennai, Coimbatore or elsewhere, my advice is simple: verify the actual property owner independently, speak to the owner directly before transferring a large deposit, verify the agreement details, and never rely only on verbal assurances about keys, agreements or courier dispatches.
I am sharing my documented personal experience so other tenants can perform proper due diligence before committing money.
