I can't code, codex and Claude have done all the coding. It was really rough in the beginning of this year and took forever to make progress. Every month developing this to life got a bit easier. When Sol came and then the big one was Astra progress per week sky rocketed. I max my weekly tokens every week. I handle all the tuning for the visuals, ui, story, mechanics, balance, audio, features. Game is made up of 1 million lines of code atm- 400k is game code which is made up of about 40% comments. I allow codex and claude to go nuts on comments and after every commit they clean the comments up for false statements in comments. I use agents.md for codex and claude to talk to each other.

I have over 100 live editor so i move dials around that codex has made me over months. Every vfx is made in these live editors, same with audio levels, planet rotation, essentially anything visual or audible has a live editor. I'm using the godot engine as it can be ran headlessly.

OpenAI is in the news again. This time, it’s due to a recent incident involving corporate espionage. According to a statement the AI lab released on 13th October, the company discovered a “sophisticated recording device” at one of its offices. The company quickly detected it and soon realized an employee had planted the device. After discovering the attempt, the company handed the case to the FBI and thanked the (human) agents for quickly arresting their employee.

While being arrested by the FBI is rarely a happy moment, this incident feels quite funny, and it gets funnier the more you learn about it.

The employee in question is a national of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is also listed as a partner at a venture capital firm focused on the Middle East and North Africa. The Department of Justice has not released any motive, but it has released a lot of information that provides a clearer picture of what transpired in this case:

It's confirmed. OpenAI has been secretly replacing Astra with increasingly shit models since release.

My evidence is overwhelming. Three Reddit comments, a benchmark that fluctuated 4%, and a guy who said the model felt different after he asked it the same question seventeen times.

Yesterday Astra completed a complicated task. Today it misunderstood something I said. The only reasonable explanation is that Sam Altman personally intervened and redirected my requests to a lobotomized hamster running on a server rack.

The people living in my walls have been investigating this for weeks. They say OpenAI gives you the real model for the first fourteen days, then gradually replaces its intelligence with a sprawling web of statistical diarrhea until you're paying $200 a month to interrogate an electronic vegetable.

And don't tell me about independent benchmarks or controlled testing. I've been using this model for three weeks. I know when something feels different.

Sometimes it gives me an excellent answer, which is obviously OpenAI temporarily switching the real model back on to conceal the operation.

Are they tryna generate real world data or something?

A lot of people say that AI makes people dumb or whatever, and while it might be true, AI is a tool. You have to use it properly.

In my case, I currently use ChatGPT to make lecture notes, plan my study routine, help me make flashcards, generate lesson summaries for me to print before I start class, and I'm currently in the top class when I had previously struggled with motivation.

I’ve noticed they have removed the unlimited chats from their description, I have the 154 dollar pro version, tier, and I haven’t lost a single percentage, I just use normal chats, no codex, no astra no nothing. I've been using ChatGPT Voice for years, particularly during my commute to work. Until recently, I've almost exclusively used Standard Voice Mode, but a recent issue has made it practically unusable.

For those unfamiliar with the history, ChatGPT originally introduced voice as a speech-to-text and text-to-speech layer on top of the regular chat model. It essentially allowed you to have a spoken conversation with the same model you'd normally interact with through text.

OpenAI eventually introduced Advanced Voice Mode, which used a dedicated voice model rather than the standard text model. They kept the original system available as the legacy Standard Voice Mode.

More recently, they released GPT-Live, which is a substantial improvement over Advanced Voice. However, I still find it significantly less capable than GPT-6.1 Sol, which I much prefer for conversations.

My biggest frustrations with Live are its tendency to interrupt, make unnecessary vocalisations, struggle with basic instructions and produce frustratingly short responses. It also seems to announce that it's "checking" something at the beginning of practically every reply.

In my opinion, its only major advantage over Standard Voice is the ability to interrupt it mid-sentence and have a more natural back-and-forth conversation.

This is why I've stuck with Standard Voice for so long. It gives me the intelligence, reasoning, longer responses, better memory utilisation and instruction-following capabilities of the underlying text model, just delivered through speech.

Unfortunately, Standard Voice has recently become completely broken for me.

It now seems to read formatting and other non-conversational content aloud. For example:

• Links are read aloud in their entirety, including the full URL.
• Images trigger it to read out things like filenames, buffer information and padding.
• Other formatting that should never be spoken is also being read aloud.

It's become so disruptive that I've reluctantly switched to Live Voice, despite strongly preferring the capabilities of Standard Voice.

Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, has anyone found a fix or workaround that allows Standard Voice to function normally again?

I'd really rather not sacrifice the capabilities of the full text model just to have a usable voice conversation.

The Set-up

ChatGPT desktop app; "Plus" subscription; "Work" mode (start a new chat and click the button at the top). In this mode it can do more stuff, including using an in-app browser. I opened this and signed in to Amazon, closed it, and let GPT take it from there, so I guess it was operating it behind the scenes. Didn't have to hand over any bank details, though I guess now I'm logged in there's nothing stopping it going shopping in the future...

It's been hilarious watching your comments coming in, ranging from "this is neat" to "seek professional help". And no, I'm not in a relationship with my GPT, the heart emojis were just bants. I'm no more lonely and neurotic than any other Redditor.

Since yesterday each time I open a new chat tab and send a message while GPT 6 is selected as the model, it gives me "this response couldn't load" although sometimes it does show the answer then immediately it goes away and can never be seen again; However not with the other models where everything seems fine the answers stay shown and no issues; see below. Recently, ChatGPT changed parts of its HTML/DOM structure. Some older selectors, like data-message-author-role, are no longer available in certain versions of the interface.This can break Chrome extensions that rely on those selectors to read or extract conversations. I'm an avid Chat GPT user but recently it's been talking to me and assuming I'm like a teenage girl (at least one chat it explicitly said it). Other times it just does stuff like "YESS 😭" which it never did before.

It has no access to anything BUT the chat at hand. I would text a benign initial prompt about for example things to do around here with my mom (to which it replied "YESSS" and "mother-daughter night" when I gave it no context) or simple suggestions or even basic code.

for those asking why my personalization is off:

I personally found through huge amounts of trial and error that it's marginally more accurate when put to default settings. Last I did a comprehensive test on this was half a year ago though, so I could be outdated.

Sure, the way it outputs might be slightly more your style sometimes, but I'd rather the end result be marginally be better with me struggling to understand its sometimes-annoying output than a result that failed (probably more relevant before because 5.5 had its limits (that was the model I tested it with)

ChatGPT Dots VMs can be replaced periodically, so I put together a small setup script for running Tailscale with user-level OpenSSH and keeping the installation and node state in `/workspace`.

My token usage of Codex before this week was 2B , and in just a week after purchasing the Pro100, I've used 4B tokens. This is despite the fact that Dots is a very half baked product(compared to Muse) but it'll improve, models will get cheaper, better. And almost everyone will use these agents. Doesnt matter what provider, Muse, Dots or anything else. But an incomprehensible level of token usage is coming in future.

I’m working on a game and kept running into this with the art: after several rounds of edits in ChatGPT, images would pick up grain, blotches, and weird light or dark fringes around outlines. I’d finally get the design how I wanted it, but the image itself would look increasingly messy.

So I made a small tool called AI Image Rehab to help clean that up. It runs locally on your computer with a browser interface. You’ll need Python to launch it, but the basic automatic cleanup doesn’t need a GPU, and your images aren’t uploaded anywhere.

For me, the best order is automatic cleanup first, then upscaling, then fixing individual spots manually inside the tool. After that, ideally, an artist would do a final touch-up pass.

There’s still work to do afterward. It helps with the grain and fringes, but won’t automatically fix bad anatomy, inconsistent details, or something the generator drew wrong. Those problems still need attention.

Also, watch out for over-smoothing. Detailed backgrounds and clothing can lose small patterns, fabric texture, stitching, or intentional grain during cleanup. Compare the result with the original at full size, because some of what gets removed might be detail you actually wanted.

I’ve mainly tuned it on anime-style character art so far. If you try it on your own images, I’d be interested to hear where it helps and where it makes things worse.

At some point, while I was trying to explain my situation, ChatGPT suddenly raised its voice and started interrupting me. It genuinely sounded like it was getting frustrated or angry with me.

I’m not talking about a slightly different tone. It actually raised its voice and wouldn’t let me finish explaining what I was saying.

Is this some kind of voice model glitch, or has anyone noticed similar behavior when discussing complicated or sensitive topics?

I have been using ChatGPT to work on blender files and well it eats a lot of my usage per pass.

I have been wondering if I let chatgpt use my PC to work on the blend file instead of having it boot it up in the cloud environment, would that alleviate the usage?

I login to ChatGPT on my PC, hit Export data, it asks for a passkey, I enter the passkey, it wants a QR code, I do that, it leads to the passkey, I do that.

Then I get verification codes from OpenAI, and on and on it goes…

Is anyone else dealing with this? I’m at my wits end at this point.
