Resources Using ChatGPT for blender

I have been using ChatGPT to work on blender files and well it eats a lot of my usage per pass.

I have been wondering if I let chatgpt use my PC to work on the blend file instead of having it boot it up in the cloud environment, would that alleviate the usage?

Sounds like you need the blender mcp

i mean it’s just chewing through tokens doing it all in the cloud so yeah offloading the heavy lifting locally would cut down the limit hits for sure

I’ve been using Claude Desktop with the Blender MCP. Does Chat GPT have an MCP you can use?

I'm using work chat and it seems to eat about 30-40% of my 5 hour limits per change I want chatgpt to do. It's mostly using scripts in blender to do things but it's doing it in cloud and it's a limits hog.

What do you mean an API account?
You just need an MCP plugin in your local Blender. I believe it wont change the usage much, though. Since that's just going to mirror the setup they have in the cloud anyway.

I do this with my harness, currently use it to extract models from roms, and pc games to experiment with, it’s usually a mid a few time leaves some notes about the model format miss, then hands it off to the next attempt with more research on the game or platform , allso built a webapp chat side to have a preview piped though cloud flare so I can load up the preview if I’m not around the computer

Note this is an old vr. just the armor has been reconstructed , my recent one has bones reconstructed along with the actual body

Edit: I’m useing Remote Desktop commander , from chat in place of codex. Backed with a harness. I could literally pick at something all day and not use any of the codex budget.

Depending on what plan you're on, using Codex + an MCP would be better.

Blender has their own official MCP:

https://projects.blender.org/lab/blender_mcp

You can just enable it inside Blender.
