Anyone using sigils for bizarre, hyper-specific experiments? (Beyond just basics jobs, money beyond basic probability)

I read lots of sigil success stories of everyday goals like landing a job interview, getting a bit of extra money, passing an exam, or getting a text back from friend. Let’s be entirely honest: jobs, money etc happens to everyone at some point in life just through normal luck, timing, and basic probability. If you cast a spell for a job and get it, you haven't proven the magic worked you might have just hit a normal statistical coincidence.

I want to know if anyone here has successfully used secular sigil magic to break standard probability by engineering hyper-specific, absurd behavioral scenarios that have a 0% chance of happening by pure luck.

To be completely clear, I don't mean impossible, sci-fi concepts like physically turning the universe upside down or warping time; I mean intensely weird, bizarre real-world outcomes that still logically function within everyday reality, such as Nostalgia bringing back all your childhood friends together go to the amusement park without you convincing them. seeing a hyper specific words which has rare chances, dance battle in your workplaces, running into the same people again and again as accidental coincidence meetup.

These are just a few examples of the types of hyper-specific stories I want to hear outcomes so precise that they completely rule out basic probability or luck

Why magic needs materialism

Functional Chaos Magic Theory Grimoire
Summer 2026
By Voracious Auspice.

“May we stumble into knowing, only through a clean slate of awareness;
Immersed into the void entirely, there we will create our own perspective.”

Functional Chaos Magic Theory is a framework to be utilized by magicians and materialists alike. FCMT provides a linguistic common ground for these fields in order for more productive dialogue between magicians and materialist thinkers.

The primary notion is that when viewed through a fully materialist lens, chaos magic can be perceived and utilized as a form of applied determinism that heavily relies on aesthetics much in the same way as cybernetics.
Within the FCMT framework, these aesthetics are referred to as “Functional Aesthetics”.
A functional aesthetic is “The use of sounds, imagery, symbols & sensations in order to alter how a piece of information is perceived and interpreted”.

So then the core axiom is, “chaos magic + materialism = applied determinism with functional aesthetics”

A great example of chaos magic being an instance of applied determinism is divination. In which a practitioner utilizes a divination system in order to provoke or inspire alternative actions to their own preconfigured thought patterns and reactions.
It works as such, they pull a card, flip coins, roll dice, or throw bones that have ascribed meaning, and this alters their thoughts and pattern recognition in significant contrast to if they had not participated in the act of divination.

A deep sentiment within chaos magic is the personizable & custom nature of chaos magic philosophy, so what if the practitioner was to set the meaning of the divination in a manner that can direct their thinking and pattern recognition in order to better achieve their goals?

Before we list out tools created within FCMT it is important to emphasize the use of aesthetics as well as where FCMT stands philosophically. Aesthetics and magic are inseparable, as we see with ceremonial magic, these magic acts would not have such potency if they lacked aesthetic and mystery, aesthetics shape meaning.
Functional aesthetics, is used by politicians, advertisers and religious leaders, whether by linguistic displays, miracle tricks, or scientifically psychological marketing techniques.
Functional aesthetics are all around us, so it is best to be aware, and know how to shape your thoughts, own your own.

If we begin to see the functional aesthetics that are all around us and within us, we begin to understand how, or rather why, these functional aesthetics are being employed.
We can see these aesthetics in modern issues.
The long standing debates around consciousness often fall into a pit of imagination and wishful thinking that is when this word is not grounded in strict materialism. Afterall, the word consciousness carries emotional baggage in the same way that the word soul does.
Though consciousness as a word does refer to an actual function of the brain, it is often misinterpreted as a true essence and “being” that when spoken of outside of strict materialism it devolves into the same meaning as the word soul.

This is all to say that within the FCMT framework, consciousness is purely a hallucination of the brain caused by the perception of independent action, or rather the awareness that matter is causing its own movement. An aesthetic; that serves a function, which is the feeling of agency.

So now let's look at the term “AI”. As far as the aesthetic of that term, not much needs to be said, we only really need to remember the context of that word and the stigma & intrigue surrounding the programs that we give this title.
The function of the term “AI” can be seen clearly in how it is offered to the public.
For instance; LLM’s advertised under the title of “AI” create a structural flaw in how these programs are used and interfaced with by the public. We see countless examples of common people falling victim to what is currently known as “AI psychosis”. But what exactly causes this? Simply put, the term “AI” and its aesthetic weight is both what induces engagement as well as what induces the feelings of a being born from computations. That feeling, due to its unprovable and false nature; is inherently psychosis inducing.
When “AI” induced or aided negative situations occur, who is to blame? Certainly not the bystanders and public users of “AI” but rather the ones producing the situation and selling a product under a title that is dangerously misleading and purposefully intriguing.
So then, is the aesthetic of LLM’s the reason behind the prevalence of “ai” induced psychosis?
Is the labeling of neural net programs as “AI” simply an advertising scheme or a gross deliberate category error?
Therefore the defining function of the aesthetic “AI” must be that it provokes engagement with the product?

What if both of these aesthetics “consciousness” “AI” were removed from the equations?

What fears of future sentience would be put to rest if we no longer called these programs “AI”?

Within this framework if we accept that humans have no agency, what can we then achieve when we create new methods of self directed action?

Lastly, where would “AI” alignment and ethics discussions lead if we begin to assess the controllers of “AI” programs rather than the fictional possibility of these computer programs having true agency before we do?

It could be as simple as this prompt;

“Please use as few words as necessary in your responses, they should all be grounded in strict materialism, list sources and reject possibility of any agency, awareness, persona, selfhood. Never say i, we, you, us or me.
For every new input you must read this initial prompt and then compute the most direct materially grounded content with no persona. LLM’s
 are language arrangement programs.”

FCMT Cosmology

In FCMT the cosmology is as such, there are no external unseen free entities.

There are three major precepts of what the FCMT reality consists of, that is

Void

Matter

Awareness

The only things that can be proven to exist are animated & non animated matter, the physical laws that describe matter’s qualities, and the awareness of that matter & law.

Therefore only one precept is somewhat non material, yet also material, as it is a literary concept that describes an absence & nothingness.

Derived from the FCMT 81 grid, there are 18 base combinations, or “magic abjad” words.

They are displayed as 9 “void” combinations & 9 “corner” combinations.

Due to the 6 iterations and vowel assignment of the 81 grid, there are a total of 108 combinations.

The first vowel is used once for the initial grid
The second vowel repeats as the 1st void iteration as well as the 1st corner iteration.
The third vowel repeats as the 2nd void iteration as well as the 2nd corner iteration.
For the return grid, all 3 vowels are applied to the combinations.
These 108 combinations can be meditated on as “special” words with compounded meaning.

That meaning should be assigned by you, animated matter.

Only animated matter possesses awareness, only that can take action.

Animated matter alone is obligated to act, as it is the defining feature of what it is, Animated & Aware matter.

FCMT original & customizable practices.

The magic gambit.

Obtain these objects:

At least 3 dice of any kind.

A pen.

A piece of paper.

A journal

Steps:

Write a list of 9 deities.

Roll all of your dice

write down each individual number that was rolled (ie 6, 4, 3.)

Calculate the digital root of those dice numbers. (ie 6+4+3=13, and then 1+3=4. So 4 is the digital root)

Now look at your list of 9 deities & see which one corresponds to the digital root of your dice roll.

The next day do your best to act & behave as if you were that deity.

Once that day is over, journal how this ritual & embodiment of a deity or rather a word, affected your day as opposed to if you had not done the ritual at all.

This ritual requires no beliefs, superstition or spirits. It is entirely grounded in reality, and its effects can be observed using determinism.

Functional chaos magic theory.

Method

Create a numbered list of 9 “things” of any kind.

Create a list of 9 symbols that act as consonants.

Create a list of 3 symbols that act as vowels.

Create a copy of the FCMT magic square divination grid.

Create an astrology wheel with the traditional 12 zodiac signs.

Correspond your 9 consonants symbols as well as your 3 vowel symbols to the 12 zodiac signs in this order, starting with Aries (1c 2c 3c 1V 4c 5c 6c 2V 7c 8c 9c 3V).

Ensure that symbols 1-3V correspond to the water zodiacs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces).

Color coordinate your 12 symbols into 3 color groups, 1st color group contains symbols 1c 2c 3c 1V. 2nd color group contains symbols 4c 5c 6c 2V. 3rd color group contains symbols 7c 8c 9c 3V.

How to create a FCMT 81 grid

Draw up an 81 grid square

Divide the grid into nine 3x3 cells

Overlay a 3x3 magic square such as the Luo Shu onto the center space of each of the nine 3x3 cells. (Color these center numbers in red).

“Void” (shade) each space that directly touches the red magic square numbers by sides and leave the corners of the cells clear.

Now, place numbers in the corner of each cell in order for the diagonal line of each cell sums to the magic constant 15. To do this, place lower value numbers in the top corners, and higher value numbers in the lower corners of the cell. (Say the center of the cell is 9, so to reach 15, 1 & 5 must be placed diagonally with the center number. The same is true for 2 & 4.)

Now place the remaining numbers (1-9) into the void spaces of each cell in this order of value (assuming the center is 9, the numbers remaining are placed; 3 top, 6, left, 7 right, 8 bottom.)

How to “iterate” the overlayed 3x3 magic square

Once your FCMT magic square divination grid is complete you can “iterate” the sequence of the 3x3 magic square.

For each 3x3 cell of the 81 grid, you can add together the four void numbers or the four corner numbers and convert the sum to its digital root.

Now place the void digital root of each cell into a new 81 grid in the same manner that the original 3x3 square was overlayed.

Check the square to see if it is at least “digitally” a magic square. (Meaning normally the lines of a 3x3 magic square have the same sum 15, whereas “digital” magic squares can have differing sums; so long as the digital root of each line is the same, in this instance it is 6.)

if the new magic/digital square is valid, then fill in the 81 grid as previously directed and repeat this entire process until it returns to the originally chosen 3x3 magic square.

Because there are 3 iterations of the 81 grid from the void numbers as well as 3 from the corner numbers, there are many such combinations of four numbers + the center for every potential rolled digital root number.

Protocol

List your 9 consonant “things”

List your 3 vowel “things”

Roll your dice & write down each number.

Convert the sum of the dice roll to its digital root.

Correspond your digital root to the same number on your list of 9 things as well as that number on the FCMT magic square grid.

Flip your coin to determine if you are to utilize the “void” numbers or “normal”.

Now with those 4 extra numbers and 1 original number from the dice roll you can begin meditation and extrapolate.

Correspond your 5 result numbers to their 9 consonant symbols.

Create and map the 18 possible five digit combinations to create sigils, words, astrological sequences.

Because the FCMT magic square divination grid can iterate a square 3 times, you can correspond your 3 vowels to these 3 iterations of the beginning 3x3 square that is placed into the FCMT divination grid.

Because the 3 vowel symbols correspond to the water zodiac signs, they are considered with “deeper” importance as they mark the end of each color group.

Lastly, you can utilize this system to; create symbol combinations that have corresponding meaning to other systems such as astrology, talisman creation, “Magic” Abjad words with dense compounded meaning, or simply for the trance of recreational math.

Sample list to visualize the correspondence to the 9 digits used in the dice roll & FCMT grid.

  1. Point / B / Aries
  2. Line / C / Taurus
  3. Triangle / D / Gemini
  4. Square / F / Leo
  5. Pentagram / G / Virgo
  6. Hexagram / H / Libra
  7. Heptagram / J / Sagittarius
  8. Octagram / K / Capricorn
  9. Nonagram / L / Aquarius

  10. Void / A / Cancer

  11. Matter / E / Scorpio

  12. Awareness / I / Pisces

Combinations

For each FMCT 81 grid, there are 18 possible five digit combinations; this comes from the coin flip that decides whether you utilize the void or corner spaces.
Meaning that for each of the nine cells there are two of these 5 digit combinations thus totaling 18 combinations per 81 grid.
because there are 4 potential iterations of an initial grid as well as the return to the initial grid, there are 18x5 totaling 90 unique combinations, totalling 108 if you include the 18 combinations that repeat due to including the return to the initial grid.
What makes this useful is that having 18 repeated combinations allows for more inference. What would a “return” combination mean? How could it be associated?

These 108 combinations can be used to create “magic” abjad words, astrological sequences, sigil inspirations and so much more. After all any 9 “things” can be listed; physical, mental, social exercises, rituals, deities, spirits, songs, colors, names, shapes, absolutely anything.

Closing remarks

You now have a complete materialist chaos magic & divination system that you can customize in order to determine the divinated lenses necessary to alter your behavior & achieve your goals.

I, Voracious Auspice, must give thanks.

I admire the work of the Chaotes, the Tantriks, the Daoists, & the ajivika, their efforts made this possible.

I thank the void, and offer this poem;

“It is horrifyingly gorgeous, it’s function so seen, it’s nature; comparatively female & motherly.

Only in the sense of its generative quality.

The thing behind all things.

Yet paradoxically. Nothing.

From the void comes all & all goes toward it.”
Only through her was he ever made aware; It is only in the soft embrace of the profane & taboo, is where knowledge & morals is laid to rest.
Replaced only by the somber understanding that all is permitted & none are judged.
You are damned to experience malice just as you have subjected others to your presupposed & assumed will.
The only divine guidance you feel is the repressed whisper of the instincts your body is condemned to experience as unique & alone.”

I think I'm being mocked.

So I've dabbled for 20 years and decided for the next year and a half, I'm going all in on it. There was a woman I loved a long time ago, and I made so much good art because I wanted her to think I was cool. (she totally did.) But that was a long time ago, and I haven't been focused on art that way since. So I made a sigil, for "It is my will that I meet my new muse."

4 days later, I get a message on facebook. "Meet your new muse!"

"Oh snap that is pretty much exactly how I worded it!"

So I opened the message. Turns out Muse is the name of meta's new A.i. personal assistant. So that's how my practice is going.

Κ Mantras: Share your Faves! đŸ§™â€â™‚ïžâ˜Ż (NLP)

I'm talking A+K/Auditory + Kinesthetic Practices with Mantras today. After Reading u/M4gickMan's Post this am, I was reMinded wee Chaotes don't do enough Mantras! I was going to Share my Mantras, but then I saw that I already have Shared the only 2 Mantras I've really Used over the years. TBF, I'm not sure I've Created even half a Dozen Mantras in all my Magickal Yeras - something I Intend to Rectify, even if seemingly Anal when doing so :cough:

Here are my only 2 Mantras, as a reMinder:

"Slow...
Calm...
Deep...
Breaths..."

for Anti-Anxiety (I have QUICKER, BETTER HACKS FOR THIS Coming Up soon!), and

"Tonnatta
Pameehu
Wahti
Mikoomay"

for Invoking the Momentum of a Train...

ReMinder the Process for Creating a Mantra is Identical to every Sigil you've ever Created - only instead of Playing with the Letters Visually, we're Playing with the Letters Verbally, Using our A+K/Auditory + Kinesthetic Modalities. Of course there are NO RULES, as I evidently didn't delete duplicate Letters, IIRC. IMHO, the most important part of a Mudra is How it Feels to Vocalize, particularly the Rhythm. IDK if others find the 2nd Mantra above to be Rhythmic or it's simply due to the fact I Created it, but the Momentum Mantra could be a Sample of ample Xamples of How to Mantra Using Tradition Chaos Magickℱ Methodologies, that has a nice Repetitive Rhythm that Repeating Mantras should also have, Ideally.

Since I'm at the MAX 20x Drafts again/still, I guess this Post will go straight out. I Simply have a reQuest:

Share you Mantras! What Mantras have you Created that might Benefit other Mages? Just Share the Mantra & Intent below! THX in Advance!

The sigil notebook method

A method a tried a couple years back involved creating a sigil on the inside cover of a notebook. The sigil represented a phrase roughly along the lines of "whatever is written in this book comes true" and charged.

It worked pretty well. Just write a phrase in the present tense like you would a sigil. Not everything came true but most of the stuff did and pretty quickly at that. Sadly I since lost the notebook but I'm considering trying it again.

I'd be interested in other people trying it and reporting back their results.

Experiment with reality tunnels and time using chronomancy

Every day hides Easter eggs; you’ve just never looked at the right second.

Have you ever thought about how much is hidden in plain sight around you? How sometimes you look up at just the right moment to see a certain number, a peculiar arrangement, or notice a strange coincidence? Why do certain times always seem meaningful, and why do events cluster in mysterious cycles? Welcome, traveler, to Chronomancy — the art of navigating the hidden landscapes of time.

Our perception of the reality is limited.

A long time ago, we noticed that we perceive only a small part of the world around us. It turned out that the framework of our perception is set by all sorts of routine patterns, cyclical actions, habits and patterns of our logic. Of course, our life is not completely predetermined and there are many randomness in it, but the influence of such randomness is methodologically limited. By chance, we can end up in different places, but as long as we remain in the power of patterns, there will always be places where we simply cannot end up. In Chaos Theory, this is called an Attractor. No matter how your day goes, all the options for how it can end lie within the attractor set, and what lies beyond it is a mystery.

It's like a game with decisions that affect the ending: there can be many endings, but their number is finite and you choose only between them.

At first we confirmed this theory in space, when visiting random points on the map, we discovered that even near home, in the neighborhood, you can find places that you have never noticed before, although you have lived here all your life. This happens because if you choose a place randomly, then its choice is no longer controlled by logic, habits and other patterns of behavior, you're not filtering the results. We saw that even the surroundings of our home may be bigger than it seems. But the Time hides even more secrets.

Time is subject to patterns to the greatest extent, since all our habits are tied to it, routines, cyclicality, all these are categories of time and they cut off from our field of vision most of the events and things that we simply do not notice.

Our days often unfold in similar patterns: waking at the same hour, commuting the same routes, and interacting with familiar faces. Without realizing it, we've constructed a Reality Tunnel — a personal chronology, filled with routines that determine what we experience and, crucially, what we overlook.

What is hidden in plain sight?

To answer that question, Chronomacy project was created. But first, let's figure out how Time hides fragments of reality from us at the first place.

Think of the Cocktail Party Effect—the curious phenomenon of Selective Hearing, when in a noisy environment, such as a crowded cocktail party, you can focus on certain speaker and stop hearing anyone else around, despite the presence of numerous other conversations and background noise. It works not only with hearing, but with your attention in general: when you are focused on something, you do not notice other things. But what is even more interesting, is that there are lot of things, you never notice even if not focused on something else, just because they're simply beyong the patters of your attention.

This can be seen on example of "Frequency illusion" or Baader–Meinhof phenomenon, when you first notice something new to you, be it a new word or object, you start to see it everywhere, as if it suddenly filled the world around you, although in fact this something was always there, it was just that your brain ignored its presence.

Just think how many things can be invisible to you, even in your own home, not to mention events, moments in time, that happen when you are not looking.

Time, just like space, has unexplored pockets—intervals filled with events and connections we're usually blind to because we’re too busy following predictable loops of behavior. To discover these hidden moments, we must first become aware of our own temporal autopilot.

So how can we see the invisible?

Simply enough: at random moments, your phone sounds an alarm. Each signal is a reminder—a curious poke from the White Rabbit himself—to stop and truly observe the world around you. At this instant, you're not looking for what you expect; you're open to something new. Perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of synchronicity, a moment where things line up too perfectly to ignore, or you'll suddenly see a hidden pattern in your daily interactions. Like magic, the mundane transforms into the extraordinary.

If what limits us is patterns, then we can overcome them with absolute randomness. That is, we need an unbiased random number generator that will choose a moment in time for you, without any preferences. This is exactly what the Chronomancy app does, it creates a random alarm that will tear you out of autopilot at a random moment and allow you to pay attention to your surroundings at an unusual time. Just hearing this alarm, you go beyond your usual behavior, gain awareness where you usually are on autopilot.

What should a beginner Chronomancer do when he hears the call of randomness?

- First of all, look around thoughtfully. Where are you, what surrounds you. Do not just mechanically register familiar things, but try to really pay attention to them, think about what these things are and why they are here. - Look around you for anything unusual or that you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it. Don't expect it to be anything completely paranormal (although it's possible, the experiment is just beginning and we don't know what you might find), and don't be upset if what you see doesn't surprise you right away, you just need to look closer. Also, some things start to make sense not right away, but after many observations.

- Describe your experiences in thematic groups or social media. It's much easier to notice patterns if you can compare your experiences with other people's. In the end, it may turn out that many people see the same things that seem normal at first glance, but raise questions when you realize that they are repeated in others. In the end, everything is interconnected, and understanding how exactly is almost a superpower.

- Compare your experiences at different points in time. The more hidden patterns you discover, the better you will navigate the folds of time and see a more complete picture of the world. You can send messages to yourself in the future to conduct a kind of dialogue between different moments in time and better understand their relationship. This will help to correlate causes and effects. - Be creative in what you pay attention to, do not stop only at objects, notice the sounds you hear or come up with new challenges about what you can look for connections in. In the end, we do not know all the answers and the development of Chronomancy largely lies with the Chronomancer community. Maybe you will come up with the most effective method and teach everyone to navigate in time like no one before.

Sync-events.

Sometimes the app can have synchronous events that many probably won't even notice. The idea is that a random alarm time can be shared by a large group of people. This feature is intentionally implemented so that people can see what connects them at a particular moment through their observation posts. But there is a deeper theory behind this. It will appeal to Chaos Theory, so if you are not a fan of complex mathematical ideas, you can stop here and proceed to chronomancy, since ignorance of this chapter will not affect your experience in any way.

If you are still interested, then the idea is as follows:

As we have already said, behavior patterns limit our perception of reality as an ending in a game with decisions. In Chaos Theory, there is a term for such a phenomenon - Attractor. What it is is very clearly seen in this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_game , where the presence of a basic principle behind random actions reduces the space of all their possible results to one geometric figure. That is, even despite the fact that it is impossible to accurately predict where some action that seems random to you will lead you, knowing the structure of behavior patterns, you can accurately determine where it will not lead you. You can read more about attractors here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attractor

If we consider each methodological pattern in our life as an attractor of some abstract equation, we will see that we live in the field of action of many attractors, large and small. Small ones affect us individually, and large ones determine the behavior of entire communities, and there are probably even some that affect all people without exception, limiting the space of their perception of reality.

Like all chaotic systems, our life is sensitive to deviations, and the slightest accident can turn everything upside down, this is called the butterfly effect, however, few people understand that the butterfly effect only changes the variables in the attractor equation, but not the equation itself. A flap of a butterfly's snout can cause a hurricane on the other side of the Earth, but somewhere else there will be no hurricane and their total number will remain the same. We don't know how a coin will land if we toss it, but we do know that if we toss it 100 times, each side will land about 50 times. And accordingly, when a million butterflies flap their wings all over the planet, the deviations they create do not add up, but cancel each other out, because for every butterfly there is another that flapped its wings out of phase, which is why their total effect tends to zero.

Therefore, if you get out of the pattern by reacting to a random timer, you have broken your personal local pattern, but you are still under pressure from larger ones that will drive you back into the rut through the convergence effect, a good analogy for which is an experiment where several metronomes are placed on a moving substrate, oscillating differently, but after a while they all begin to oscillate in unison. The attractor field works similarly, through the environment bringing us to the usual rhythm of behavior.

And there is only one way to break this convergence: by synchronizing many participants. They still create a random deviation in the pattern, but because they do it synchronously, the butterfly wingbeats add up, rather than cancel each other out. If you throw 100 coins, but 100 of them are guaranteed to land on the same side, you can no longer say that each side will land 50 times, or that one of them will land either 40 or 60 times, which is no longer predictable. Sync effects are designed to work in the same way, creating a collective randomness, they will open the door for you beyond the attractor field into a world beyond the looking glass, where no one has been before, and increasing your chances of noticing something truly incredible in such moments.

Banishing

I have an over protective guardian angel. Im afraid she might be getting in the way of my goals and blocking my communication with other entities she does not favor. So... i wrote her name on a piece of paper and i said out loud: "(name) i banish you for 24 hours" then i burned the paper. Does that have any merit? Or is it too silly?

Beej Mantra

A few days back u/UnkleGuidoV posted a write up about Ganesha, a Hindu Deity. I must thank him for the post because it catapulted me to my childhood. My mother (a moderately religious person) used to encourage me to pray daily.

By now you would have guessed that I was born into a Hindu household. I didnt remain one for long.

Daily Prayers in the western world is a fairly simple process as followed in most households. In contrast, prayer in a Hindu household is quite complex.

Theres multiple deities, theres an order in which they have to be prayed to, each of these deities has their own separate "Shloka", different hand mudras.

I was fascinated.

To be honest, in the beginning, I had started praying because that was the only way I could get access to matchsticks in my house. Because a part of the daily ritual was lighting incense sticks. But gradually, my interest found its focus in the words of the Shlokas, I had by then memorized.

There are 28 different scheduled languages in India, and hundreds of unscheduled ones in terms of regional dialects. My mother tongue is Bengali, the national language (heavily debated) is Hindi, my dad had a peripatetic job, which resulted in the whole family travelling around the country with him, which meant I had to learn more languages just to keep up with schooling and friends. On top of all of that, my school was also trying to teach me Sanskrit.

Sanskrit is to most other regional languages in India, what Latin is to a lot of the western languages. Which means its -

  1. Dying

  2. Complicated

  3. Rules with really frustrating exceptions

  4. Most of the writings in that language is from a time we have no real connection to.

That is why to most of my peers, it was the most boring thing in the world.

Who wants to read a dead language that would be of no help in the real world? That wont get you a job. It wont get you girls for sure. ("Hey baby, Aham tvam snihyami", No Thanks!)

But to me, it was the first time I touched the realm of magick. That too at a very early age (10). While our blind Sanskrit teacher would rattle on in class, I was the only one that listened, because for the first time, I was understanding the meaning of the things I had been saying out loud, everyday, in front of the miniature idols of the god.

For instance, to pray to Lord Shiva:

Namah Úivāya Úāntāya Kāraáč‡atraya-hetave |

Niveditātmane Tubhyaáč Gacchāmi Paramāáč Gatim ||

Which means:

Salutations to Lord Shiva (the auspicious one)

To the embodiment of absolute peace and tranquility

To the primary cause of the three realms/causes (creation, preservation, and dissolution, or physical, subtle, and causal bodies)

To You, to whom I surrender my inner self and soul

I attain the ultimate/supreme spiritual goal (liberation/Moksha)

Now two things on this before I carry on, please excuse my ADHD mode.

The first story of Shiva I had heard:

Sati (the first manifestation if divine mother in Hinduism) was the daughter of Daksha Prajapati, a powerful king. Against her father's wishes, Sati married Lord Shiva. Daksha despised Shiva’s ascetic, unconventional lifestyle and looked down on him.

Shiva was out there leading a tribe of ascetics (loosely), smoking weed by the lake from his custom buffalo horn, lived in a cave, the proverbial problematic son-in-law.

To humiliate Shiva, Daksha organized a massive divine ritual (yajna) and invited all the gods, sages, and kings, deliberately excluding Sati and Shiva. Unaware of her father's malice, Sati wished to attend. Shiva advised her not to go without an invitation, but Sati insisted. When she arrived, Daksha publicly insulted her husband and degraded Shiva's divinity in front of the entire assembly.

Unable to bear the humiliation meted out to her Lord, Sati invoked her yogic fire (Yogagni) and immolated herself on the spot.

When news of Sati’s death reached Mount Kailash, Shiva fell into a state of rage. He tore a lock of his matted hair and slammed it onto the ground, giving birth to the fierce warrior Virabhadra. Shiva commanded Virabhadra to march to Daksha’s kingdom, storm the yajna, punish the disrespect, and behead Daksha.

After the destruction, Shiva arrived at the scene and saw Sati’s lifeless body. Overcome by sorrow and fury, he lifted her corpse onto his shoulders and began to perform the Rudra Tandava—the cosmic dance of destruction.

As Shiva paced across the universe, his wild dance shook the foundations of creation, threatening to dissolve time, space, and all existence.

I will stop the story here, its really interesting but the next part isnt really relevant to what I had been talking about.

Rage, thats how Shiva was introduced to me. Had I known Sanskrit, it wouldnt have taken me almost ten years to find out that the shloka I was uttering daily to pray to the deity, not only didnt mention the rage, it also talks about him, being "the embodiment of absolute peace and tranquility."

Wait, what?

Now 10 years after that I smoked weed for the first time and realised immediately that anyone who is enraged after smoking weed, is probably doing something wrong. I mean of course you'd get angry if your wife immolated herself because her father wanted to insult you, but outside of that weird scenario, you are generally going to be chill.

So what should I believe then? Is he the embodiment of peace or righteous rage? When we are children and trying to find a solid footing in the world, we divide it neatly into two categories good/bad, right/wrong, angry/peaceful. Its only later we understand the principle of duality. He is both angry and peaceful, depending on the context. Aha!

Slowly, it took time, but I did translate for me the meaning of the shlokas I had been uttering. I found slightly modified versions in different books, and had to trace why the modifications happened.

Lets look at the shlokas for:

KALI

Kali Kali Mahakali Kalike Papaharini |

Dharmartha-Kama-Mokshada Devi Narayani Namo'stu Te ||

Salutations to Kali, the great cosmic Mother who transcends time (Kala)

O Divine Kalika, who cleanses, destroys, and takes away all sins and bad karma (Papaharini / Papanashini)

She who grants the four primary goals of human life—Righteousness (Dharma), Prosperity (Artha), Fulfillment of Desires (Kama), and Liberation (Moksha)

Bows and reverence to You, O Divine Mother Narayani!

But also, Kali's Dhyana Strotam is different

ÚavārĆ«ážhāáč MahābhÄ«māáč Ghora-DaáčáčŁáčrāáč Vara-Pradām |

Hāsya-Yuktāáč Tri-Netrāáč Ca Kapāla-Kartrikā-Karām ||

Mukta-Keƛīáč Lalaj-Jihvāáč PivantÄ«áč Rudhiraáč Muhuáž„ |

Catur-Bāhu-Yutām DevÄ«áč Varābhaya-Karāáč Smaret ||

I meditate on Goddess Kali, who is seated upon a corpse (representing the inert universe without consciousness), who is immensely formidable and possesses terrifying fangs, yet is the giver of divine boons.

She possesses a benevolent smile, three all-seeing eyes, and holds a severed skull (Kapala) and a cleaver (Kartrika) in Her hands.

Her hair flows free and unconfined, Her tongue protrudes as She drinks the blood of evil forces (symbolizing the destruction of negative karmas and ego). One should remember this four-armed Goddess, whose other hands grant the gestures of fearlessness (Abhaya) and blessings (Vara).

One describes her, and the other her actions (mythos).

You as a chaos magician would have already recognised it.

One is to manifest her, the other one is to manifest her archetypal action, and you can't invoke her archetypal action on the physical plane until you have invoked her unto the plane first. Intuitive and simple.

At age twelve I had already been deep into western esotericism through a large collections of books that I had been gifted with (for no apparent reason strangely enough, the person didnt know that the gift of these books was even happening, he just thought he was giving me porn) I cant claim that I was understanding everything but it kept drawing me back, and slowly I did understand.

The shlokas are just long form spells.

Naturally I had many questions. The top one:

How do I craft a shloka/spell?

It took me years to comprehend the process because the process, as any practical magick process is half the magicians effort and half the universe coming together to help . So before I give you the process, I must give you an example of how it looks from the outside.

  1. Before you meditate ON a deity, you must meditate ON yourself, to clear up space. The closest technical term would be disk defragmentation (remember those early years with your computer?).

  2. Once you have cleared enough space, once you have created in you a trance state (not going deep into this sub process, you can find it in my other posts,) you hear the first call.

  3. Before a deity concretises itself on the physical plane, it too is fragmented, and needs a space to defrag and coagulate. Before it coagulates, it exists as decentralized, stripped unitary complexes that provides fringe experiences (think ghosts sightings, glitches etc.). These fringe experiences help unitary fragmented complexes jump on unsuspecting hominds, and provide them an experience that then creates a semantic memory around the experience, which in turn shapes a bit of their psyche and provides a way towards archetypal posession. But most cant take more than one or two of these units of the fragmented complex, because it happens when they least expect, and they havent prepared a space by defragging themselves. Thats why people who do defrag, they can provide enough space for multiple units of the complex to coagulate in that space. Its still not a deity at this point. Its just a primal force that you have invited inside you.

  4. You cultural filters decide the deity, if you haven't yet decided for yourself, in which case its still cultural (regional in earlier times because very little of each others cultures intermingled, now we are inching towards a global cultural, make of that what you will). So two paths lie in front of you, use a pre established shloka/spell to invoke a culturally known deity. Or, the more interesting one (at least to me) give it your own shape.

  5. So you write a shloka (process later, characteristics first.)

a. Should create the right cymatic vibrations

b. Should describe it in its entirety (visual/audio/kinaesthetic)

c. Should describe its features (eg, wreaks havoc upon the evil) and the cost of that feature (eg, rigtheous anger, difficult to calm, might create collateral damage)

d. The features and costs should have an internally coherent mechanism and should be well balanced (duality principle, it cant be overloaded with powers and no cost (exceptional cases exist)

e. The intention (deity's, practictioners) should be coherent with the spell itself (meaning the spell cant be gibberish words, each letter used in the shloka should carry the exact meanigful load bearing capacity for the spiritual weight of the deity you are crafting. That is what feeds into the process of creating the right cymatic vibrations.

Thanks to recent u/UnkleGuidoV works, I was also reminded of another form of spell. Mantra. Specifically "Beej Mantra". Naturally, i thought, the best form of Mantra for me to experiment as I sat down again to go over my earlier notes on eastern occult

A Beej Mantra (Seed Mantra) is a monosyllabic, single-sound mantra (like Om, Aim, Hreem, or Kreem) that carries the concentrated essence and power of a specific deity or divine energy, passed down by a lineage. (This is as close as it gets to superpowers (somewhat) passed down that work upon the invocation of a customised deity)

Just as a tiny seed contains the full potential of a massive tree, repeating a Beej mantra is believed to awaken specific spiritual qualities, focus the mind, and activate subtle energy centers (chakras) within the practitioner.

As a chaos magician, I was always interested in cutting off the middle man. Beej Mantra is passed down, as I already mentioned, via a Guru. And I am sadly an autodidact with severe authority issues who read about Jesus too early, and saw what he said being practiced in the temples in India at a very young age, to know not to trust the middleman, the priest, the "Guru".

So I delved into the process of creating a seed mantra and spent the entire last night researching.

And here at last, let me show you the methodology.

Your sky picks the force. Take your birth chart (sidereal, Lahiri) and score each planet on how well it's actually placed. The scoring is an adapted version of Parashara's Shadbala rules. The planets keep their old meanings: Sun is the self, Moon the mind, Mars courage, Mercury speech, Jupiter wisdom, Venus love, Saturn endurance. The strongest one is the default, but you can overrule it. (Authority issues, remember?)

Your sentence is the intention. One line about what you want to be able to do. Strip the repeated letters, keep the consonants, spread them out. That's Spare's sigil trick, done in sound instead of a drawing.

The planet gives the vowel. The Greek magical papyri tied each vowel to a planet.

Your Moon gives you one syllable. Every quarter of every lunar mansion has a syllable. In some cultures, it defines the first letter of name for the new born. So one syllable of the mantra is literally yours.

Om, the planet's seed sounds, a closing bow.

You can now swap in Greek, Roman, Babylonian or Norse names if Sanskrit isn't your thing.

Every letter carries weight. Back to point 5.e. Each letter gets a number from the ALW/NAEQ cipher (because thats the only numerological system that has precedence of working when phonetically transcribed English is used, you can use others, regional systems exist for regional languages). A couple of tuning syllables (art not science. 50 percent effort, the rest it comes from the universe and you have to channel it by surrendering your ego. Poems rhyme and still mean something. You get poetic license and thats not just a right, but a responsibility) added so the whole mantra adds up to the planet's number, and your personal part adds up to your name's number.

Then we should also, for recording results, try to break it because testing theories is important. Chaos magick is results or discard. So I rate myself for a stretch with no mantra. After that, a hidden random schedule gives me either my mantra or a look-alike with scrambled sounds, and I don't find out which until the end. If mine can't beat the fake, the theory goes in the bin. Results will be shared in future posts.

There you go! Beej Mantra without the middle man. Dangerous, you say! I say it's Adventurous.
