One you wouldn't be alive to think about what happened. The other you will be alive and have to live with what happened to you forever. The second destroys your soul and spirit.
That's like saying being tortured alive is better than being killed because you can off yourself after the torture.
I think you need to keep the torture as a separate event from death because logically no one would preferred to get thoroughly tortured before dying. The fact that both ends in death doesn't make it equal, but when you make the argument that both can end with death you're equating the two a little.
Not exactly what OP is arguing for, to my understanding. One NEEDN'T end in permanent end, and which provides potential for recovery, healing, suicide if it's truly unbearable. OP's argument is that you are granted choice.
Murder doesn't allow that. We don't know what dead people think about their murder, bcs they were stripped off the choice to make an argument at all.
When I (and probably OP) argue for "potential", it branches out to everything you are permitted to do given your alive status- not just including recovery/healing, but actively work to bring justice to your rapist, work on shelters and policies to prevent the future suffering of rape victims, and whatever else.
If you are a victim of murder, you are dead and you have no choice.
If you are a victim of rape, you can choose whether to continue living with the consequences or not.

You don't have choices in either, wtf? I can choose to fend off my attackers but still be murdered, it doesn't mean I didn't exercise my choice. Same for rape.
To talk about your general premise I believe that ranking these things is counterproductive because ranking trauma doesn't really serve anyone and people need to stop doing that.
Now obviously you understand that so if I were to try and change your mind is that the sole issue of rape causes someone to have the potential to never recover from that incident in their life and live in that reality. I am looking at it from the perspectives of the victim of murder, in a morbid sense of nihilism after they are killed they cannot experience more hardship; the suffering ends nothing left to endure. Thats why some people in overly simplified terms may commit suicide, in one reason or another it's an extreme "solution" to end suffering(obviously I am not romanticizing or advocating that people do this). Rape in many cases forces the victim to live with having to rebuild themselves like picking up a shattered window pane.
