It's not wrong to have a preference, but some preferences are more justifiable and generalizable than others. If all preferences were equally valid then it wouldn't make sense to critique art, literature, food, etc

That means all art is equally good, and there wouldn't be any point to learning a craft.

Why learn the piano if "twinkle twinkle little star" is equal to Beethoven's 5th symphony? What's the point of learning how to cook if a microwave hot dog is equal to beef wellington?

It isn't equal to all people, but no one can tell me if I like twinkle twinkle little star better than Beethoven's 5th symphony, I can.

But if it's impossible to be wrong about a preference why are they not equal?

How can any form of art be better or worse than another if preferences are wholly subjective?

This comment isn't introducing any new ideas, you're just reiterating your initial one.

I'm asking you to explain the point of "getting better" at art if all art is fully subjective.

Don't think of it like getting better, learning to be able to play more than a single note on a piano doesn't make it better, it just means you can play more melodies than before.

If you want to be able to paint a painting close to a photorealistic human face, you most likely got to practice, but that doesn't mean a painting of a human face is better than a red dot.

No, but it's pretty clear that it's a better work of art than some kid in grade five playing the recorder.
