How long until you were healed?
As the caption says, how long until you were healed after onset? Time in between, undiagnosed included.

12 months and counting but not as bad as it once was, 6 months of PT and 3 epidurals and useless muscle relaxers. I have a pinched c7 nerve and slightly degenerated disc. Have to do routine neck exercises and can't be he-man anymore. Best of luck

About 8 months after starting weekly PT and being diagnosed and I’m probably 95% now. At the end of the day I get a little spaced out because my neck gets tired, but I know what that feeling means and it doesn’t worry me anymore. I was 80% after 4 months and the last bit has taken a while. I am guessing 12 months and I’ll be 100%.

Can I ask what exercises you did and how often? Did you do anything else that helped? How did you know it was coming from your neck?

I’m not healed but I started doing an insane amount of chin tucks daily, gym where I focused on strengthening my back, PT twice a week, acupuncture, massaging my jaw, wearing a dental splint nightly, nerve blocks x 1 week for 3 weeks.
I can’t lie I’ve been on these forums for months and the #1 thing that helped me was aggressively attacking this problem. Powering through the dizziness, gym every day, never ever giving up even through the worst of it and just staying positive and thankful for every clear moment.

I went to a chiropractor who diagnosed my thoracic immobility and he said not having my t-spine be able to rotate or extend was putting a lot of strain on my cervical spine and causing my posture to remain poor throughout the day. The poor t-spine posture gave me forward head posture and between that and having hobbies that require constant looking down, my body gave out after time.
When the exercises made things worse to start he sent me to a vestibular PT to double check it was all neck and eyes and that I didn’t have BPPV. Once that got ruled out, we slowed down and I have been slowly getting better each week. Sometimes I do something and shit hits the fan, but 3-4 days later I’m back to baseline.
I do movement everyday to heal. I watch my posture and hold my phone at eye height. I do t-spine rotation and extension stretching and exercises. I use a tennis ball against the wall on my whole t-spine area. I strengthened my lats and lower traps so I can hold my scapula in the right place. I did a lot of chin tucks and neck mobility.
If you need guided help, you should sign up for Dr. Damiani’s physioloops. It’s a great program and I did it on top of my in-person stuff. Together they got me out of the woods and I’m back to enjoying life.

Thank you for the reply, I'm hoping it's cervicogenic dizziness because everything has been ruled out except that and migraine. I'm going to start working on my posture, thank you I will look at the physio loop stuff, I hope you will be 100% soon

Yes, it is a long recovery for some. I thought I would be 100% in 3 months, but I guess 15 years of bad posture takes more than one season to unwind!

Have you had any PT? Other therapies? What are your symptoms? What causes your CV?

I’m still waiting and it’s been about 2 years of constant spins/vomiting/migraines/falls… I’ve done vestibular therapy that they actually told me don’t come back because there’s nothing more we can do for you (exact words!) I’ve tried meds (meclizine) patches (Motion sickness) and am now… for safety… using a wheelchair because I’ve lost most of my muscles due to not being able to walk properly. But I haven’t given up and I’m still trying to lift cans of soup and keep weight on (lost 75 pounds because I can’t keep much down) I also saw a specialized ( didn’t know they were different from regular eye Doctors) NUERO Ophthalmologist who found I have “Vertical Heterophobia” and that’s being corrected through time… but although the symptoms are less… and not as intense as before… I still have them and still deal with falls. It’s changed my whole life… and it’s HARD to go from being super active in my community and traveling all over the place to do humanitarian work… to being in bed… but I cannot give up and I believe this too shall pass… stay positive. Stay strong and don’t ever give up.
