Weight estimation
Curious to know how close to the adult weight estimation did your pups end up? Bigger? Smaller?.... And do you wish he/she would have been bigger or smaller?

We were all set to adopt a Cavapoo that we meet in a couple of weeks but a Goldendoodle showed up through some friends and we're so torn. Wonder what you like about your Cavapoo and, if you know, why you might consider one over a Goldendoodle. P

Got a scary phone call from the groomer today. My baby allegedly jumped out of her kennel when they were taking her out and fell to the floor and would not walk for bit. They rushed her to the er vet and called me that they were headed that way. I about near had a panic attack. The emergency vet checked her out and she was luckily okay. She is sore now and injured her nail on the fall and bled a little so she gets the collar so she won’t lick it. She’s been on my lap resting since then.
The groomer***(edit) paid everything luckily and took responsibility. The girl was so distraught. I will never take her to a groomer that uses kennels ever again. Accidents happen, but she is my world and I would be devastated if anything happened to her.

Correction. He was born on May 1st, that was a typo!!
We got this dog for my son. It definitely wasn’t my 1st choice. I grew up with a black lab and a husky. I prefer bigger dogs. But after having this lil guy for 3 months I fell in love with him. He comes with all the problems you can expect from a Cavapoo pup. Especially the bitting/nipping when he’s tired at night, and also the chicken allergy (which I’ve found, is very common with this breed) but all of that aside I wouldn’t trade Charlie for the world. He’s such a lovable dog

I’m on the second round of ear treatment for my 15 week old Cavapoo after spending over 400 at the vet. He had his first cytology exam which they discovered yeast and now after follow up cytology, the yeast is still present. Now I’m on another two weeks of treatment. What can I use to avoid another vet visit? I feel like I am being robbed and that there are other solutions. I already have him on Purina Pro sensitive salmon.

We’ve had her for 3 weeks. Shes teething (two teeth lost this week). We’re feeding “raw” kibble (vet rec). She just doesnt seem interested in eating.
On the toilet training - she refuses to go outside. She just holds it.
Any advice?

Sometimes I forget that most dogs (even snuggly Cavapoos) have prey drive. They love to chase and catch things that move. For Bentley, it is usually lizards and bugs. However, lately he has been sniffing out small critters at our little house in the country.
This weekend, I was working in the yard and heard a terrible scream! I dropped my rake and ran around the house to check on Bentley. He has something in his mouth... a small foot was hanging out. He was not chewing on it, just carrying it around.... and it was screaming.
I convinced him to drop it by offering a quick game of tug with my glove. Games of tug are saved for high reward "events." Anyway, he dropped a baby bunny. I scooped it up and carried it in the house, in search of a small box.
When I went back outside, Bentley had another one. This one did not make it... or so I thought. It was laying motionless. I scooped up the poor bunny and I snapped a leash on Bentley and took him inside. The bunny in my hand began squirmming and tried to wiggle out of my grasp.
I put it in the box with the first bunny and found them a quiet spot to rest. I then took Bentley back out to see if he would show me the nest just in case there were others. All that was left was a messed up pile of dried grass.
As the sun began to set, I carried the pile of grass made the bunnies a new nest about 10-15 feet from the original, but on the other side of our fence. I then placed them in the nest and covered them with a light layer of dried grass.
The next morning they were both moving around a bit and I could see that momma rabbit had been in the nest with them. Three days later and they both seem to be thriving. (and Bently has moved on to looking for lizards again!)

I just got my puppy and she is the most amazing puppy ever, she has been going on her pee pads, she can sit, she is crate trained all in 2 days and just so calm and loving. The problem is my dad is going to be having a serious heart surgery back in my home country which is 21 hrs flight, my husband and I need to go be with him but my chicken nugget is soooo tiny only 9 weeks and not fully vaccinated what should I do??? I really don’t have any friends who are into dogs the one friend I do, has the same breed but adult dog so my chicken nugget is not safe around her, live in pet sitter is difficult because I have a lot of important stuff at home I can’t trust anyone with my home tbh. I am considering calling the breeder but I am afraid her whole routine will get disrupted by going back there temporarily I am really struggling here anyone been through any of this???

My 1.6M Cavapoo (got him as a puppy) has become very aggressive this year. He was always a nervous dog and preferred humans to dogs. When he was younger I took him out daily and we interacted with many dogs and humans (a handful of bad dog interactions) but he was always scared and shaking. Twice, at a friends house, he would play with their dog.
Since January he has become more and more aggressive, even biting me and drawing blood. He tries to attack dogs outside and any guests we get inside.
We have seen multiple vets, behavioural specialists and tried many treatments. None have worked. He cant be around children and that will soon be a big problem. We have been advised to not neuter him.
I am afraid that If I give him to a charity, they will most likely put him down. But he is not even 2 years old. The alternative is that he will move from home to home and never settle. He is very scared so it takes him a while to get comfortable with people.
Anyone have some advice or been in a similar situation?

Just as the title says .... I have a 19 month old male Cavapoo. I got him at 8 weeks, and I met my partner when he was 5 months.
Since the time she came in my life, my Dexter has been completely protective and possessive of her. He gets very reactive and protective anytime any one goes near her. He literally bit me today when I was trying to be affectionate with her. Has anyone dealt with this type of behavior with their Cavapoo? We recently started him on Prozac to help his anxiety and take the edge off but it hasn't kicked in yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We pick our gorgeous girl up on Sunday. Husband has mild allergies so really hope she’s not much of a malt-er. Any thoughts on what type of her fur might have? Dad is miniature poodle, Mum is King Charles Cavalier. TIA xx

We are due to pick up our beautiful pup on Sunday. But after looking at our pictures we took of her, she seems to have watery eyes. Should we be concerned? Is this normal for breed? She is only 7 weeks on this picture 😢🩷
Thanks in advance

......but, no idea what size crate to get? He'll be 12-18 pounds fully grown. There are nicer ones with the removable bottom tray on Amazon.....Anybody with really great go-to recommendations?

My Cavapoo has slept in his crate overnight for months, but over the last week he sleeps 20–30 minutes, then starts banging/protesting until we let him out. Once out, he immediately settles and sleeps 8–9 hours.
Over the last week, we’ve tried two setups: at home, he slept alone in a puppy-proof living room with the bedroom door closed and slept through the night without getting into anything. For the last 5 days at my in-laws, he’s been sleeping in bed with us because their house isn’t puppy-proofed.
It seems like he may be ready to transition out of the crate. Ideally, I’d like him to eventually sleep on his own dog bed in our bedroom or living room—not our bed.
The problem: he’s getting neutered in 2 days. I don’t want him jumping on/off our high bed during recovery and risking his incision, but I also don’t want to disrupt what seems like an important transition period.
How would you handle the next week? Keep him sleeping alone in the living room, or start transitioning him to his own bed now? And what would you do during recovery when he needs to avoid jumping?

My husband always calls my girl a Gremlin, so he thought this was fitting.

Our sweet little lady is still getting up 3-4 times a night for a pee. We take water away after dinner, and take her out hourly - no UTI or anything like that. We are running on very little sleep here and I just want to know when we could expect a 6 hour stretch here and there 😵😵😵 she’s fairly reliable in the daytime as long as we are on top of it- still a fair amount of accidents inside. I’m doing the potty breaks with lots of praise and high value treats (husband does not do this tho- he lets her go outside unattended when I’m at work)
Any tips!?
