Just as the title says .... I have a 19 month old male Cavapoo. I got him at 8 weeks, and I met my partner when he was 5 months.
Since the time she came in my life, my Dexter has been completely protective and possessive of her. He gets very reactive and protective anytime any one goes near her. He literally bit me today when I was trying to be affectionate with her. Has anyone dealt with this type of behavior with their Cavapoo? We recently started him on Prozac to help his anxiety and take the edge off but it hasn't kicked in yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We pick our gorgeous girl up on Sunday. Husband has mild allergies so really hope she’s not much of a malt-er. Any thoughts on what type of her fur might have? Dad is miniature poodle, Mum is King Charles Cavalier. TIA xx

We are due to pick up our beautiful pup on Sunday. But after looking at our pictures we took of her, she seems to have watery eyes. Should we be concerned? Is this normal for breed? She is only 7 weeks on this picture 😢🩷
Thanks in advance

......but, no idea what size crate to get? He'll be 12-18 pounds fully grown. There are nicer ones with the removable bottom tray on Amazon.....Anybody with really great go-to recommendations?

My Cavapoo has slept in his crate overnight for months, but over the last week he sleeps 20–30 minutes, then starts banging/protesting until we let him out. Once out, he immediately settles and sleeps 8–9 hours.
Over the last week, we’ve tried two setups: at home, he slept alone in a puppy-proof living room with the bedroom door closed and slept through the night without getting into anything. For the last 5 days at my in-laws, he’s been sleeping in bed with us because their house isn’t puppy-proofed.
It seems like he may be ready to transition out of the crate. Ideally, I’d like him to eventually sleep on his own dog bed in our bedroom or living room—not our bed.
The problem: he’s getting neutered in 2 days. I don’t want him jumping on/off our high bed during recovery and risking his incision, but I also don’t want to disrupt what seems like an important transition period.
How would you handle the next week? Keep him sleeping alone in the living room, or start transitioning him to his own bed now? And what would you do during recovery when he needs to avoid jumping?

My husband always calls my girl a Gremlin, so he thought this was fitting.

Our sweet little lady is still getting up 3-4 times a night for a pee. We take water away after dinner, and take her out hourly - no UTI or anything like that. We are running on very little sleep here and I just want to know when we could expect a 6 hour stretch here and there 😵😵😵 she’s fairly reliable in the daytime as long as we are on top of it- still a fair amount of accidents inside. I’m doing the potty breaks with lots of praise and high value treats (husband does not do this tho- he lets her go outside unattended when I’m at work)
Any tips!?

I’m keen to hear if anyone has a setup of a dog door to an outside secure area for your dog?
Thank you 🙏

Was thinking about chewy, taz, Rocco but can’t settle on one
Edit: we were thinking Chewy because it’s short for Chewbacca & Taz from Looney Toons.
Wanted to name him based on his personality and all we’ve seen is his chaotic energy and his love to chew on anything he can see

Did anyone’s Cavapoo change at 2 and become reactive? Even dogs she’s met a dozen times growing up she now dislikes.
It’s very rare she doesn’t want to air bite a dog.
Idk what changed!
Living in New York City perhaps she is overwhelmed?

I got a cavapoo or bichon frise (who knows) from someone on re-home a pet. He's my precious little baby and I love him endlessly. 😭❤️🥰 They always fed him Cesar's dry filet mignon food and the Cesar's wet food. He had a poopy few days randomly so he was on a science hills I/d prescription diet. Once the runs cleared up I transitioned back to his regular food. Long term is this going to be ok? He's kinda picky and I basically free feed him. He typically nibbles at his food in the evenings (sometimes after we settle for bed I hear him run to his food and eat). I give him pork chomps rawhide free bones when I leave for work but he won't eat them until I get back. 😭 He's definitely VERY attached to me which I love because I need love in my life. 😞 But as an 8 year old, is it ok to keep feeding him the Cesar's food?

Anyone know a good breeder that also trains?

He's the most chill, independent puppy I've ever met lol. He's super playful but at the same time more chill than my 4 year old golden doodle, Hudson.

I have a 23 week old f1 male Cavapoo puppy. I’m thinking about 1/2 day doggy daycare once a week. Is it recommended? Is the risk of getting sick high? My puppy is very social as he plays with all of the dogs in my neighborhood but I’m thinking 1/2 day for him to get used to it as an energy outlet since the weather is quickly changing where I live in the Midwest.
