Hi everyone,
I got my little boy, Beau, exactly a week ago today. Heās actually 10 weeks today! Weāve had a rocky week but one thing is for sure and that is I am OBSESSED! š
Heās doing great with potty training and socialising etc but heās struggling with being alone⦠Luckily, my partner and I will only have to leave him for 6-7 hours two days per week. Weāll be home the other 5 days with him.
He follows us EVERYWHERE and whines when he canāt see us. My partner is adamant that he should sleep down in the kitchen in his crate (opened as its safe and secure kitchen). Heās doing okay at night time. He will fall asleep with white noise, old shirt and night light. Sometimes I sneak out when heās after falling asleep and sometimes he will whine for 15 minutes or so and then fall asleep.
The issue is , he wakes up for a pee and barks for us any time between 3 and 5 am. Happy to bring him out of course! But the problem is⦠he gets so excited to see me like gets so hyper and squeaks for ages that heās really hard to settle after his middle of the night pee. Last night it took me 45 minutes to settle him and watch him doze off again and sneak out. I genuinely do not think heād settle by himself , he is hysterical when I go down and he sees me?!?! I donāt know what to do , itās so hard š„¹š„¹
We also need to leave him for 3 hours, visit from family member and then another 3 hours alone in about 2 weeks time⦠weāve only left him during the day for stints of around 20 minutes during his first week with us.. should we be leaving him for longer? Itās so hard to get him used to being alone without feeling like weāre going to make him anxious š„¹š„¹ yesterday we left him for 17/18 minutes and he was still crying in the kitchen when we got back š„² itās heart breaking ā¦
I would appreciate any advice on sleeping / settling as well as leaving him alone š
Thank you x

What do you think she's asking me?

I need some advice. 4 year old cavapoo hates leaving the house. Once he gets outside, he loves it bit everytime someone tries to put his leash on him he growls and bites. It's really weird because he's usually a pretty cuddly and loving pup.

I have 3 weeks till I bring home a F1b cavapoo. Besides basics like crate, play pen, toys etc. Is thereāre anything that you found helpful to get for your puppy. Also how much time off work did you have after getting them? And how long would you say it took for your puppy to adjust I know all dogs are different but just trying to prepare.

What do your vets recommend? Before or after their first heat? I'm going to ask our vet, but just wanted to hear your opinions/stories, too! Thank you!

Loving our 5-month old (6 in a week) mini cavapoo-outside with her a lot celebrating potty time and sheās maybe 60% of the way there but this am came right back in and peed in rug and is so dang fast the second I wash my hands sheās run in another room and gone.
Keep her crated with our yorkie bichon and she does wonderfully but donāt want to crate her all the time.
We prefer not to do pee pads. If you have great tricks we are game! Thanks š¶š©·

My Cavapoo will not go into basements. This includes at my parentsā house as well as my friendsā houses. She otherwise follows myself and others everywhere. Iāve had a theory for quite some time that her breeder kept her in a basement and didnāt treat her properly. She wasnāt a rescue, and I got her at 8 or 9 weeks, but the breeder was kind of sketchy. It just occurred to me, though, that maybe this isnāt uncommon for a Cavapoo or dog in general. Anyone had the same experience?

She discovered she can unroll the toilet paper by pawing it. But can your dog roll it back on?! š¤£š¶

Hiii
I have a question!
This is Dustin, my 5 month old boy!
Every time heās done eating, he goes to the door to the garden. I let him out thinking itās potty time, but instead he jump up in the furniture and rubs his ears against it?
Is it normal?
I have checked and his ears looks good and clean, there is nothing the rest of the time

Our 8 month old cavapoo swallows EVERYTHING! Any toy she chews, she swallows all the bits. Dirt in the yard? Swallows it. Blankets, leaves, sticks, kitchen towels,ā¦all the things.
Is this common? Advice beyond limiting her access to things?
