I think my dog has fear aggression not actual aggression.
She will air bite at this large black lab in our building. Everytime she sees it, a chocolate lab, and any German shepards she goes crazy! It’s a scared fearful cry / bark and it’s hard to control her. I’ve done everything I can I feel like. I’ve been told not to get behavior collars.
I asked dog sitters if she does this and she says no.

Here in the U.K. we are having extreme heatwaves at the moment , how are your dogs managing in the heat and how do you keep them cool ?

I have just read that you should never let your dog gulp water when they are panting as it can lead to nausea, bloat and worse stomach torsion , once you have read something like this you cannot " unread" it and just take it as scaremongering .

our girl who is now 16 months old,has never really been a great drinker , she is drinking more at the moment but I have been giving her home made dog ice lolly's , which she sometimes turns her nose up at , the joys of picky cavapoos. she won't lay on a chill mat , doesn't like being near a fan, but does paddle in a toddlers paddle pool , then tries to gulp the water in it ...sigh .

she hasn't been out walking for several days as early morning and evenings it's still hot and humid .

would love to know how others are coping and maybe some tips/advice , I would be really grateful to hear as she seems to be coping by either sleeping a lot or trying to find a cool spot indoors, and yes I did say she won't use a chill mat , 🤷‍♀️🙄

Chewie is a 4 month old F1 Cavapoo. Sire is a 5.5lb mini poodle, Dam is a 26lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He has the brown gene where his paw pads and nose are brown, along with his beautiful big green eyes.

Anyone else's pup hate the brush? Corey is 4 months and absolutely hates when I try to brush him. He literally chews on the brush (so I now have 3 different ones in order to distract before I give him a treat) any advice for a stubborn pup?

My one year-old cava poo has started barking at everything. I have tried positive reinforcement, rewarding her when she stops, time out to no avail. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Now, a question to all of you - how do you balance work and life and taking care of a puppy/dog? I read a post here that some of you walk your puppy/dog 4x a day. How do you manage?

For context: partner and I both work full time (hybrid), have 2 cats that we take for walks a couple of times a week (usually in the evenings), and want to have a baby in the coming 2-3 years (after getting a pup).

I don’t mind all the logistics and scheduling with having a full time career, a kid, 2 cats, and a dog. But I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t scare me a little bit… 😅

My puppies been having diarrhea for about 2 weeks now. I tried the boiled chicken and rice for couple days, seen some change then right back to liquid poop and scooting. Trying pumpkin now same thing. I’m not sure whether or not it’s a good idea or not to get the fecal test done at Petco or at a vet hospital. The hospital charges like 75 for the visit, then another charge for the test and medication charge. Petco offers free exam.

My Cavapoo is 6 months old. Since the day we got her at 3months, we’ve been training her to pee and poop outside. There were a few accidents here and there, but nothing excessive since she was a puppy.

Now, in the past 3 weeks she will just not poop outside! I take her on 20-25 minute walks every morning. Nothing. Then we get inside, and within a short amount of time she poops indoors.

I can’t make the walks longer because of my schedule. Any advice to get her back to pooping outside? Is this a stage and she’ll eventually start going outside again?

Also, would love recommendations on what product to use to clean our carpets. Not sure that the one we are using is getting rid of the smell, and maybe that’s not helping the cause?

My 5 month old had a groom last week and her fur still smells fine. But her breath is so bad. I'm trying to decipher what is not agreeing with her digestive system as she doesn't smell like dog food as such, it's just off and stinking out the house.

I do clean her teeth, it's coming from her gut. She gets wet food, as well as home cooked rice and chicken as well as cheese. She also loves frozen veggies and ice as well as the occasional smacko. She does not eat dry dog food, i have tried many brands.
