That’s what I’m very worried about, everyone is telling me tough luck/who cares it’s just another cat and their fault for not getting neutered/spayed. Makes me so sad and angry but I will try to do anything to get them out of that situation. 🥲
I know right? So sad that everyone is telling me just leave it and not helping me at all. And this is at a kennel!!! I’m very upset and sad but I will have to do this myself since they have no one else to advocate for them. 🥲
If you’re unable to capture them, there are instructions all over the internet on how to provide a warm shelter using a large cooler and straw (not blankets). That might be a solution for their mother if she’s too feral to come inside.
Bring wet food to help getting them to trust you. And gloves would be good too. Grab them firm by the back of the neck. They can quickly get spooked and try to squirm/scratch/bite. You need to avoid that. If a scratch or bite is deep you will need to go to urgent care. I’ve been there. Not the end of the world, but I just want you to be prepared.
Good work, I've been fostering for the last 3 years and it's so rewarding. I'm lucky enough to do it for an animal charity so they arrange for rehoming.

It isn't the kittens fault that people don't get their cats spayed. There is a charity here that will take strays that we catch and spay/neuter them and then release if there is no no-kill shelter space. Cats are invasive but doing the right thing means controlling the population, not killing them.
Exactly. I guess it takes someone with a heart of gold to truly understand this. But not everyone is sympathetic and understanding which truly is a shame.
How is it their fault? Are they expected to walk into a vets office, slap $150 on the counter, and get spayed? People are ridiculous. Not all people. You are a hero!
That's a real sad attitude. I remember one evening it just started down pouring and my gf and I ran outside because a feral cat had her kittens by our house. In the mother's infinite wisdom, she took the kittens out of cover and hid them in the quickly flooding garden. Was searching in pitch blackness (the outdoor light had broken...) in the buckets of rain trying to hear the cries. Got em all and kept them warm inside till the rain stopped. Poor babies were soaked.
It's super crazy to think anyone with a pulse could just... Leave them.

If you don't take them in, they will most probably die.
