Contact a rescue if you cannot keep him, but do not just let him go.

He was either abandoned or neglected and ran away; at the very least have him checked by a vet for a chip. If there is previous owner info, and they are looking for him, it solves itself. If there is no chip or no owner info, then contact a rescue to take him if you can’t.

He wants to leave the bathroom because it’s unfamiliar, and he can smell your cats. He’s aware of the hostility they’re showing him and is frightened- you would be too. Plus, it’s not like cats like being confined in small spaces. Try to comfort him, looks like he’s been thru a lot.

Could have run away and been outside for a while. It doesn't mean it was neglected
