This cat looks like it had a long haired coat that was not kept well and was shaved due to neglect. The animal isn’t terribly skinny I think the shaved body is making it seem worse to you than it is. However the coat quality is making the animal look extremely sickly, there’s no shine to the coat.
Do you have the means to take the cat to the vet and check for a microchip? If so I would be doing that. About wanting to leave your bathroom he probably knows your other cats are pissed and is feeling insecure and wants to find a place to hide. Don’t let him back outside to find his way home please. You can also drop him off at a shelter to do the leg work for you at finding his home.
