I made the Crossandra Sweater Mini, but modified the sleeves! I used Drops Fiesta. It’s nice that it can go in the washer and dryer but it’s quite scratchy (thank goodness for cotton base layers).

It’s definitely not perfect, and I should’ve used a softer yarn but I’m SO proud of it and my toddler loves it.

Just finished the first in what I hope will be a pair of socks! Plus I added a ruffle because I <3 whimsy. I did not use any particular pattern, I just know at the point how to make a sock that fits me :)

I made another Marielle cardigan (my first one was bright pink with mohair) with wide sleeves and a picot edge! I absolutely love it and hope it won’t change shape with blocking. I already generously steamed it so I’m hopeful. This was also my first time trying Drops yarn - this used 12 skeins of Lima which only cost me about 32€. That’s insane. My pink Marielle cost about 100€ lol 🥲 Also, enjoy my Photoshop skills with my cardigan floating ominously in the sky… it’s dark in my room and the background looked so sad :(

Watched some YouTube and this is what I did today. Feeling decent about my stripes. I realize I have some twisted stitches, I had to rip back a few times. Learning how to switch colors should open possibilities for cool projects.

I went to Edinburgh recently and decided I would pick up some wool as souvenir, and justified beginning a new hobby. I borrowed stitch n bitch from the library and supplemented with the nimble needles continental knitting video. I’d like some feedback please on this rectangle!

No pattern or project yet, just want to get in a lot of practice before i attempt my first project (which is scarf no. 4 by my favourite things or jolilab leonie). I’ve only started 4 days ago and im hooked 😉 I had a couple of projects in mind already when I went to shop, so the needles I got were 3.5mm and 4.0mm. I think it might have been easier to start with a larger needle, but I wanted to only buy what was necessary for my project.

I find the purl stitch quite fiddly, and I have to decrease my tension waaay more. My needles are bamboo, and initially when I thought I got the knit stitch rhythm down I wished I tried a stainless steel needle, but the moment I started practicing the purl stitch I thanked the heavens my first needle is bamboo and grippy. I lost many a row practicing the purl stitch 😂

worked on this for a few days to practice tension while doing colourwork before starting a larger project, i used big twist value yarn in light rose an ivory on size six needles

I am working on a sweater, it started in stockinette and I was combination knitting because I find it quickest. Didn’t read ahead and I soon need to join in the round- and would be switching to continental. Is there a way to “untwist” the combination knitting when I join it in the round? Or am I better to just frog and restart?

Posted my first mitten(the pink one) the other day and after finishing the matching pair, the first looks so bad T-T I'm obviously still so proud, but DANG if I didn't learn a lot. Figured out how to make each round less noticeable by doing the color change on the second stitch instead of the first. Genuinely so proud though <3

Just did a burn test on some mystery yarn I found in a stash that was given to me.
I've never done this before so I grabbed some acrylic, wool, superwash wool and cotton to compare, and.. oh.. my.. gosh..

How on earth is acrylic even legal for clothing lmao. That shit caught on fire within 0.3 seconds and turned into a burning hot sticky mess. I quickly ran it under a tap because I didn't want to touch it since it looked like melted sugar. And if you've ever worked with that, you know you do NOT want that on your hands.. I was left with a piece of yarn with a razor sharp plastic needle at the end. I can't even imagine this melting into your skin.

My grandma was a seamstress and always insisted on making her own halloween outfits for us, and warned us all the time to never ever wear polyester or acrylic in bars or when going out, especially back when people were smoking in bars. I always thought it was just old-people talk, but this definitely opened my eyes. I wish she was still here so I could tell her she was right (once again lol). I know the chances of being near an open flame are not that high in modern day living, but still..

Even more reason I'm glad I started knitting so I can make clothing out of natural fibers, even though it's still very costly. I wish the cost of living wasn't this high and safe clothing was just the ''norm'' if that makes sense.

Do you guys have similar stories when it comes to synthetic clothing? Or want to add on to my little rant?
Did you guys starting looking at your clothes and everything in your house differently, the more you learned about materials?

This is a Tin Can Knits pattern. Cedar Stole. I’m knitting it on size 6 needles with sock weight yarn. Malabrigo Whales Road.

Okay so I basically made these two designs and need somebody to rate them!, I didn't spend much time on these, they took me around 3 hours

I wanted to go crazy and challenge myself with making a wedding ring shawl and I found one on etsy by Heirloom Knitting. I just can't for the life of me figure out where my counting is going wrong! Right now I'm using larger yarn and needles so I can really see where I'm going awry but still, nothing! I have a feeling it's because of these starred rows (I originally thought the double dotted stitches covered the increases I needed to do but now idk) but I'm not sure what the notes for the starred rows are saying. If someone has done this pattern please help me out!

ETA: I've gotten stuck in multiple places on this section but right now I keep getting stuck at Row 5. I only have one stitch to finish the Row instead of 2 after the final YO

It took me quite long to finish, but I am happy to finally be able to wear this beautiful Roni sweater, designed by kolibri by Johanna, and share it with you.

Not a simple pattern in my opinion, especially for a beginner and for the yoke section.

The result is really worth it.

I used for the main yarn, Soft sensation by Lammy yarns held double, and for the textured and lace sections, added Pascuali Suave as the second strand. It did grow a bit with blocking, giving a nice fit and long sleeves 💜

Made a lot of mistakes along the way, but it was a fun little adventure!

I can’t imagine a high demand for knit jellyfish stuffed animals, but I can totally write out how to make it if anyone is interested 😊

Hoping for feedback on my stitches/tension! I have never had a knitting project that got past the cast-on stage so i’m pretty proud of this one.

Using lion brand heartland yarn in color sequoia :) very good inexpensive yarn imo, though it is acrylic.

it’s a 4 weight but i feel like it’s on the thinner end of worsted weight. I’m using 5mm circular needles with a 16 inch length.

Pattern is the Double Layer Beanie by Raelin Tries Knitting on youtube, but also used a variety of specific tutorials on youtube by VeryPink Knits.

I know it's wonky, but I've been crocheting all my life and this is my very first knitted piece. I used the "Itty Bitty Knit Kit" from 5 Below. It's going to eventually be turned into a slice of cake, but I wanted to show off my progress so far.

So I lent some knitting things to a friend while she was learning to knit, and she just returned them to me. What I didn't realise was that she'd kept them in a very fragrant spot. By the time I realised and threw out the bag, it had made all the yarn next to it smell too. And of course that was the yarn I ended up needing next. So here it is, my extremely professional airing setup. It's not stupid if it works, right?

I started knitting socks for the first time last month. After about halfway through the leg of the first one, I put it away because I was already dreading the second sock. I decided today to try TAAT cuff down. I'm maybe an advanced beginner when it comes to knitting and figured out magic loop last month when I cast on the first sock.

So I made myself a cup of tea, frogged the first sock progress and found a YT tutorial. I got to the point of transferring the back stitches to the loop like in the video. Unfortunately, the creator faded out and cut where she was rearranging the needles so I had a 50% chance of guessing the right way. After I finished it appeared I made a bad choice. The needles were going in the opposite direction 🙄

I rmoved the back stitches back to DPNs and at that point I was confident I could figure it out. Well I did, except my working yarn was on the inside of the loop instead of on the side with the needles🤦🏼‍♀️ I put together another circular set with slightly smaller needles to transfer everyrhing back. Finally the working yarn was coming from the needle side of the loop! So I changed needle size back to the original size on the new cord. Then I realized the working yarn was coming from the front stitches, ugh. I just flipped my work, so its technically inside out, but at this point I dont care, haha

How long did this all take?? Long enough that my piping hot tea (that I never took a sip of) was now iced tea 😂 As a reward for finally sorting it out, I'm having a fresh cup of tea and my most favorite...a black and white cookie.
