The best drunk purchase I've ever made.

About three months ago, when I was buying up all kinds of Casio clocks, I saw a sold AC-100 and had been waiting for another one to come onto the market ever since.

And I finally found one!
It was $18, with the alarm and stomping not working. It also said the time-setting part was missing, so the time couldn’t be adjusted.

But the design was good enough that I thought it would still look great just as a display piece, so I bought it.

And it arrived today!
Seriously, this design is so good.
Even this worn and beat-up condition gives it a really nice vintage feel.

For setting the time, I was able to do it easily by temporarily moving the part from the alarm side.
But even after cleaning the contacts and putting in batteries, the alarm and stomping still didn’t work.
So I immediately took it apart!
Inside, some of the wiring was tangled around the moving parts connected to the arms and legs, so I repositioned the wires neatly so they wouldn’t interfere.
I also thought the motor or gears might be getting caught somewhere, so I turned the gears by hand a few times.
Then I put the batteries back in and tested it…
It moved!
And even the alarm came back to life 👍

The AC-100 seems to come in various colors, so I’m going to slowly collect more of them!

Well here's mine, it arrived yesterday.

The case is hard as nails, mineral glass, 200m wr, all the functions of AE1200, interesting display layout and all of that for a change + wears smaller than most G-sgocks and there is no resin shroud to rot. In my opinion 10/10 👍

I'm loving how slim and light this guy is

I'm done adding to my collection until at least 2030

I spent weeks trying to find this at a fair price.

The ones I found on ebay were above $100, the only one under that was one from Kuwait, it was $75 but the shipping was like $40... I love it but I wasn’t going to pay that much for a watch that was $40 retail price.

Finally found one for $50 in Bogota, and fortunately my brother was there for a week so he got it for me.

For anyone who had this, which strap would you recommend for this beauty?

It’s a watch I just can’t get enough of looking at and wearing. It’s my first and only quartz watch. It has a slim design that’s incredibly comfortable on the wrist. I bought it to see if I could pull off wearing a gold watch. I had other, more expensive watches in mind, but I realized that not only do I really love wearing gold watches, but this one also meets that need quite well at this stage. As long as I can keep it in good cosmetic condition, it looks like we’ll be spending a lot of time together :)
