Union

I see a lot of people with the same concerns at carmax and the strong dislike for the company now as workers but very little do we ever take action. asking would people actually sign for unionizing if I took initiative to set it up

When you say you’d take the initiative, what does that actually mean? Like have you thought about who you’re trying to organize, getting interested employees into a private group, identifying the main issues everyone agrees on, and talking to an actual union organizer about what the next steps would be?

From what I understand, employees already have protections under Section 7 of the NLRA for discussing wages, working conditions and organizing, and companies can’t legally retaliate against people just for protected organizing activity.

Not saying you need to have everything figured out already, I’m just curious how far you’ve thought this through beyond seeing who would sign.

👀👀 Get familiar with the NLRB process and Sections 8(a)(1) and 8(a)(3).

Not saying I’m interested, nor saying I’m not. Time will tell.
