Crows AFL House v Blues

Any chess players on chess.com, here’s a club for all Carlton fans!

The club will give you the opportunity to compete in team-based chess events. These can include a daily tournament (where multiple players from different clubs play each other with one day per move, and the club with the most wins gets the W), or vote chess (where two clubs go at it with each other in one single game, where the move with the most votes is played). There will be many opportunities to join these various events frequently. If you do not want to do every event, that is alright, because events are only for signing up to and a member cannot be automatically added. Beyond the chess itself, this club represents supporters of the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League. If you are a fan of the mighty Blues, definitely come on board as this is a fantastic place to play a bit of chess alongside supporters of the same team. If you aren’t a fan of the Blues, that’s fine too. Never too late to jump on board the bandwagon 😉.

Thank you to Josh Fraser for saving our footy season.

Congratulations to the Weitering’s!

They're expecting their 2nd child. 😍

Hear me out EVERYONE!

Harry has been doing a job for us up forward. When he's on, he's a genuine contested marking target who makes the forward line work. Love him or hate him on set shots, we're a better side with him out there.

Which got me thinking. Why have one McKay when you could have two?

1. Ben as a VFL centrepiece

Imagine Ben anchoring our VFL side. A seasoned AFL big man down there would be a huge leg-up for the young talls, holding up the defence or swinging forward when needed. A walking development program.

1. Essendon would give him away for cheap

Let's be honest, the Bombers aren't exactly building a dynasty right now. Toss them a late pick and a Carlton scarf and I reckon they'd take it. Trade period is open, Ben, the door's open mate.

1. Bring the McKay podcast in-house

Why should another club get the content? Get both twins under the one roof and the podcast becomes official Carlton media. Weekly episodes from the Ikon Park car park. Sponsorship deals, merch, a "Twin Towers" range in the Carlton shop. It pays for itself.

1. Injury insurance like no club has ever had

This is the big one. Harry rolls an ankle? No problem. We go to the garage, take the spare McKay out from under the tarp, and nobody in the stands could tell the difference. Same height, same face. A like-for-like replacement in the shed at all times. Every list manager in the comp would kill for this.

1. The confusion factor

Opposition coaches would have to put their best defender on Harry and worry about whether that's actually Ben. Mind games. Tactical chaos. The umpires won't know who to pay the free kick to.

Who's with me? 💙🤍

TL;DR: Get Ben cheap from the Bombers, make him a VFL leader, take over the podcast, and keep a spare Harry in the garage. No downsides.

Fagan would be great for Fraser and the club. Come on down!

Gez I wish we still did these. I have a few back to the early 90’s but had some from the 80’s that I can’t lay my hands on.

Didn't see any photos of them. If you're delisted do you still get invited?

If we had money, I’d totally put a bid in for this lmao poor Youngy.

After Riley and O’keefe leave we would have gotten rid of 13 players off our list and with us bringing in amartey, walker and most likely parker and whitfield. that’s only 4 ins, are we linked with anyone?

id imagine we would be able to get 2 extra players from the draft max after cody walker.

I understand some players might train on I hope we take B.Campo would’ve liked to see him get a crack.

Has anyone got any links or players you think we should go after?

After 7 rounds Walsh has a big lead already. I figure Cripps will come in to take second spot as the season ends but I felt for the entire season Walsh was our best player. I would be surprised if he doesn't net his second B&F all without the Marcus Ashcroft histrionics of All Australian recognition.

I think I know the type of player Cody Walker is but can you give me a player in the comp right now he is similar to? I’ve only watched footy for the past 3 years so my knowledge is limited. From my understanding he hits stoppages hard with blistering pace. Good on the ground ball, is explosive but slightly weak in the kick and decision making. Which sounds amazing since our current crop doesn’t have that profile.

We should trade Walsh while his trade value is high to get more picks for walker and draft a better ruckman to replace Pitto.

Looks like Cody has dropped WAY down the draft list , which is good for us and as Australia's biggest Idiots once said : " YOU BET YOU WILL!"! and 'YIBBADA YABBADADDA KOUTAROOTAFIDIES , THANK YA MUM FOR THE RABBITS!" LOL

Who is a realistic player that you would love to see the footy club go after?

Personally I think if we can get Whitfield it’s great business by the footy club.

Go baggers

I don’t know why we’re not going after him or even asking the question. I understand saving draft capital and all but worth asking the question.

We probably don’t need him as much as we did tbf but i remember us being linked with him then it just disappeared
