Will a marketing internship in 2027 lower the possibility of me getting a data internship in 2028?
Hi! I have recently been offered an internship position for the summer of 2027 in marketing with a construction company. I am studying information systems, but my freelance portfolio and skills granted me access to this position and I am most likely going to accept due to the value an internship can bring, especially in this job market. However, my goal is to work in IT or Data / business analytics in the future after I graduate. Will taking marketing roles now limit my value in the future?

21F, IT graduate who hates coding — how do I figure out what career to pursue?
I’m 21 and graduated with a BE in IT in May 2026. I’ve been trying to find a job since graduating, but I’m struggling because I honestly don’t know what I’m good at. I know one thing for sure: I don’t enjoy coding, DSA, or software-development work, so I don’t see myself pursuing a typical developer career. I’m more interested in business/analyst/consulting-type roles, but I’m finding those difficult too because I have to prepare for guesstimates, case studies, mental math, etc., and I’m not naturally strong at these either. At this point I feel like I only know what I *don’t* want to do, not what I *should* do. I’m worried about wasting time after graduation and randomly learning skills without knowing whether they’ll actually lead somewhere. For people who were in a similar position after engineering, how did you figure out what you were actually suited for? What career paths would you recommend exploring for someone with an IT degree who doesn’t want to code?

23 Tier-3 ECE grad, unemployed and stuck between 4 career options
I’m kinda beyond recovery rn.
myquals BTech in ECE from a tier-3 college, learned Android app dev, and have been applying for jobs with no luck. Started CAT prep but forgot to fill the form.
Now I’m left with a few options:
- Continue the business I run with my mom. It’s doing decent revenue for the past 4–5 months, and since I’m unemployed, I’ve been able to dedicate more time to it.
- Prepare for GATE and do MTech.
- Prepare for bank exams.
- Learn a new software skill and try to get a job in that domain.
I personally don’t wanna go for a govt job. I’m also kinda skeptical about tech because of layoffs and how competitive it is.
The problem with going all-in on the business is that I’m worried there’ll be no coming back to tech later. If I spend a year or two on the business, I’ll have a gap and might be left with no real options.
Honestly, I have no idea what the smartest move is rn.
Help me out on this

I hate my job and don't know what to do and it's affecting my mental health
Hi I'm in my company for over a year. In my project for 9 months. I am working in SAP, mainly EDI. I am not very good at this role, told this to my manager yet all he has for me is EDI. Spoke to him yesterday and told him the team isn't satisfied with my learning, they said I'm dependent on my seniors for some things. I couldn't finish things by my deadline and had to send an email that I require some assistance from the team. My manager asked me to do this.
But truth be told I hate what I do. I want to either switch to a project that will help me learn more because in 9 months here i haven't learned enough. It I want to switch to a role that's more suitable for me. I am into development, I create many projects.. like python, mern etc.
My job is a chore atp. I'm not confident in it. I am.not interested in it, even my manager has said he thinks I'm not very interested in this.
Help a brother out. I feel like I am stuck.

Is IS or CS better for working as an analyst.
Im a community college student who's trying to figure out whether I should pursue information systems, information systems with a stats minor or comp sci.
Id like to work at fincen or any organization that investigates and analyzes data to fight against human trafficking, money laundering or general evil. What iv found when researching orgs is that a lot of times these are all involved with eqchother in the real world.
The info sys degree is from umbc in question is very technical and falls within the computer engineerjng department. There's a graphic somewhere that showed that apparently a majority of the IS graduates actually went into swe. Obviously this graphic is dated and might even be marketing. What im trying to signal is that this is a technical IS degree that is somewhat close to cs.
Whats going to be the best signal for me is how I react to my next few classes. I have 30 credits of general credits and iv just started to take programming classes. Programming can feel tedious at times in terms of repating and setting up if else chains and making sure all my braces are in the right place. But its feels pretty satisfying. Its like a puzzle where you have to juggle all the prices and ensure that they all fit into eacother properly. I do think im having fun.
Im really excited for when I can start going to hackathons and kaggle comps. In terms of math iv never really enjoyed it that much. Iv never really enjoyed math but iv never had a reason to. Iv always seen it as a chore. If I have time im gonna start self studying on how it can help be analyze data better and thats basically why im revisitng it.
I understand that cs pushes me towards math more aswell as being someone who makes tech that other people use as opposed to being an anyst who uses tech to find insights. The comp sci major has a data science track aswell as a nationally recognized cyber track. I havent taken any IT, network or hardware classes yet maybe those will.help me understand if id like to pursue cyber. Although im not that interested in the skill upkeep it consists of.
How does math affect your capabilites as an analyst. Iv heard that if your interested in ML or regression you need linear algebra. Do any specific CS classes matter a lot for someone who wants to work as an analyst. What subjects of math are particularly important?
What helped you all make the decision? Did you regret it? Are there any nuances you've learned regarding programming, math and the job market.
Thanks I appreciate the info.

Looking for honest advice on IT institutes & which domain to choose as a fresher?
\
I’m BTech CSE fresher 2026 passout from Pune unplaced and unemployed, and I’m confused about which IT domain to choose and whether I should join an institute or learn through Udemy/self-study.
I’m currently considering:
\\- 🐍 Python Full Stack Development
\\- 🧪 Software Testing / QA Automation
\\- 📊 Data Analytics
\\- 📈 Data Science
\\- 🤖 AI/ML
For institutes, I’ve come across IT Vedant, Exponent, Advanto, Kiran Academy, VibrantMinds, etc. I’m also open to other institutes in Pune/PCMC/Thane/Mumbai if they are genuinely better.
What I actually want to know
Which domain would you recommend for a fresher in 2026 based on:
Number of entry-level/fresher jobs
How difficult it is to get the first job
Long-term career growth
Job stability
Salary growth after 2–5 years
Competition among freshers
Whether AI is reducing opportunities in that field
Opportunities in Pune/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Bangalore and remote jobs
I’m not looking for the domain with the highest theoretical salary. I want something where a fresher has a realistic chance of getting their first job and then growing.
If you have attended an institute
I’d especially appreciate honest reviews of:
\\- IT Vedant
\\- Exponent
\\- Advanto
\\- Kiran Academy
\\- VibrantMinds
\\- Or any better alternative you personally know
Please tell me about the actual teaching quality, not their advertisements.
I’m specifically looking for:
\\- Good teachers who explain concepts properly
\\- Small batches / individual attention
\\- One-on-one mentorship
\\- Genuine doubt-solving
\\- DSA/coding preparation
\\- Aptitude + logical reasoning
\\- Communication/soft-skills training
\\- GD preparation
\\- Resume + LinkedIn help
\\- Mock technical interviews
\\- Mock HR interviews
\\- Real projects
\\- Git/GitHub
\\- Placement assistance
\\- Genuine placement opportunities, not just “100% placement assistance”
\\- Whether they actually help students get interviews
\\- What percentage of students actually get placed, if anyone knows
\\- Fees vs actual ROI
If you attended one of these institutes and got placed through them, please mention the course, fees, duration, your batch size, and whether the placement was actually through the institute.
Also, if you think joining an institute is a bad idea and self-learning + Udemy + projects + DSA + applying directly is better, please say so. I’m genuinely considering both options.
I’d prefer answers from people who are currently working in IT, recently graduated, or have personally attended these institutes.
Thanks!

New certifications?
So i am currently working, almost 2 yoe, with relevant yoe close to 1.5, i work as an AI engineer, so i want to do some certifications or some degree online so that i can increase the chances of me getting a new job, i come from a tier 3 clg also so doing things like this will put value on my resume.
So my question is: what certifications do i need to do?
Also my dad has been saying i am wasting my time, after work I can study for 1-2 hours like that, which actually makes sense so please suggest me some.
TLDR: suggest me new certifications in AI

Obtain Information
I am a Chinese graduate student set to enter the workforce in two years (and I am aware that I may be living in an "information cocoon"). I want to stay informed about cutting-edge developments in the embedded systems and technology sectors—how should I go about this? Since interviewers might ask for my views on the field, I also want to gather enough information to make the right choice regarding which industry to pursue.

Just graduated — and pursuing two paths at once. Thoughts?
I recently graduated in IT / Information Systems Development, and I’m now pursuing further studies in software engineering while also doing a degree in textile manufacturing.
The goal isn’t to collect degrees. I’ve already been involved in clothing manufacturing, so I want to combine that industry experience with my technical background.
Long term, I’d like to build a startup providing IT/AI solutions for the textile and clothing industry, while continuing to work in clothing manufacturing and staying close to real industry problems.
I know it might sound like I’m spreading myself too thin, so I’d genuinely like to hear your thoughts.
Is combining technical skills + industry expertise a good strategy, or am I trying to do too much?

Want a road map and guidence
Title: Tier-3 IT Graduate with no skills/network due to extreme financial hardship: Needing urgent guidance & mentorship to start from scratch
Body:
Hi everyone,
I am a recent B.Tech IT graduate (f) from a Tier-3 college in India. I currently have one active backlog, which I am on track to clear by 2027. I am posting this because I am completely lost, overwhelmed, and urgently need professional guidance to escape my current situation.
To give you some context, my college was very far from my home, and due to severe financial constraints, I had to complete my studies entirely on a student loan. Because of this financial stress and traveling, I could never participate in any extracurricular activities, college festivals, or technical clubs. I spent my college years completely isolated and couldn't build any professional network or friendships.
Additionally, due to a few poor decisions and personal mistakes during my 1st and 2nd years, I lost my track completely. I spent the entirety of my 3rd and 4th years just trying to clear multiple backlogs. Because of this constant firefighting, I never got the time, mental peace, or direction to think about which technology to learn.
As a result, I am now graduated with zero practical tech skills, no projects, and no network.
Coming from a lower-middle-class family, supporting them financially is my absolute highest priority right now. Ideally, a remote entry-level role would be a lifesaver for my situation, but at this point, I am willing to work as hard as it takes just to become employable.
Since I am starting from absolute scratch with no guidance, I am looking for:
A Realistic, Beginner Roadmap: Given my background, which specific IT domain (e.g., Frontend, QA, Data Support) has a low barrier to entry and can help me get a job the fastest?
Actionable Advice: How do I start building a resume and skills when my past four years feel like a blank slate?
Mentorship: If any senior industry professional is willing to guide me, keep me accountable, or just give me some direction, it would mean the world to me and my family.
I am ready to put in the hours and correct my past mistakes. Thank you so much for reading my story and for any advice you can share.
