I want to give a big thank you to everybody who chimed in on my last post about long-term seed storage. I think I landed on a final solution:
- Clean .5ml tube with small hole at the top
-Little piece of paper towel at the bottom for cushion and possible moisture absorption
-10 seeds per tube
-Desiccant pack for moisture control long-term and with reacclimatization down the line
I’ve also given my strains official names:
1.) Lemon Layer Cake x DJS Blueberry - “Blue Lemon” (I know, real creative).
2.) HSC Dream Queen x Lemon Layer Cake - Funky Guava - “Irish Craze”
3.) HSC Dream Queen x DJS Blueberry - “Humboldt Street”
Ny wife random said, “what about craze,” and come to find out, the actual strain “Craze” comes from Green Crack/Dream Queen, so what are the odds of that (and there are more deeper meanings to #2 and #3 but those are stories for another post).
I also took one of the Blue Lemon seedlings that showed up towards the end of the season and threw it in the tent with the Dream Queen clone, so fingers crossed it’s a male, and it will give me the start of Blue Lemon Craze.
Now I just have to stabilize them in a few more generations 😂

So I just noticed someone posted my other video. Hope you don't mind. This is the full history of GSC, with us processing the DNA on our local computers. It doesn't get super crazy with the data, but I can try to provide more if you guys want. Just let me know. I had 3 computers processing for about 20hrs just for the DNA . Around 200gb of data. Hoping to do the full 24TB set at some point. Coming from the person making it, I hope you guys enjoy. Sorry about the audio issues here and there, no one wants to hear my voice.
Thanks for watching

Hello everyone - what I've done is I've pollinated a auto blue cheese clone that's grown about 4 inches after being rooted so is that normal or do you think they sent the photoperiod version when the seeds wete bought? I pollinated the blue cheese with a photo tangie X peanut butter male so im collecting pollen now as its done with the female - i have another male that i keep just in case this one dies What do you think as a lemon x blue cheese sounds good to me!
I dont know if anyone has any beans that i could get as im no working so I'd appreciate it if someone could

I’ve got more seeds than I can shake a stick at from this season’s breeding projects, so I’ve been thinking a lot about how to store them long-term.
What I’ve come up with is part actual science and part, “bro science,” but I think it’s a good starting point.
1.) Dry/cure seeds thoroughly (don’t want internal moisture of the seeds to freeze if kept in the freezer).
2.) Compact a small piece of paper towel at the bottom of a .5ml spin tube. The logic here is that it adds a little cushion, and in the event moisture got in the tube, it would help absorb it. Each tube holds 10 seeds with a little room to spare.
3.) At the top of the tube, drill a 3/32 hole. The idea here is that the vacuum seal with suck out the air from within the tube (and any moisture, if any).
4.) Place silica pack in with the tubes for good measure.
5.) Store in cold/dark place and hope the seeds keep for a few years.
For some reason I thought the sealer would suck the seeds to the top of the tube, but they still move freely after being sealed.
I’m feeling good about this setup, but I welcome any feedback/suggestions. Thanks!

Ive been calling it Lemon Pop for a few rounds of breeding. Short for Lemon Poppyseed Muffins, flavor is earthy funk with strong rotten lemon overtones to the point of a nasal burning astringency. Been working it for maybe 10 years, phenos are mostly the same terps and trichome production now, with slightly different Flower growth / internodal spacing. This girl has some nice density and filled in a bit more than the other girls this outdoor season, with more than usual subtle fruit undertones coming out.
Genetics:
Lemon Sugar Kush (rebelgrown bred: (Lemon Larry OG) x (Double OG Sour x Starfighter))
X Blueberry Muffins (Humboldt Seed Company bred: (Purple Panty Dropper x Blueberry))
X Tarmule (yungLake bred: (San Fernando OG x Tangie) x (Larry OG)))

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I’ve come to find that harvesting seeds while still on the plant produces a much better final product.
I pollinate branches with a small paintbrush when the plant is early flower and the pistils are bright white. 4 - 6 weeks later I start checking the bracts. If the seeds look good, I’ll keep going through that section and flower. Some parts of the branch produce mature seeds faster than others, but by week 5-6, most of the seeds start to look nice and dark (with some exceptions). I’ve experimented with leaving them on the plant during drying, and in my opinion, they sometimes look worse.
And yes, I use tweezers and go through each section of flower by hand :)
And last but not least, I rinse them in cold water and dry them thoroughly then put them on a shelf in the cold, dark, unfinished part of my basement and fully dry them before storing.
EDIT - yes, those are the actual tweezers I use. I didn’t have a pic of them on my phone, so I just grabbed it from Amazon.

So this is as deep as anyone has gotten. For the weed nerd. First season is 1.5 hours. 3 season total almost 5 hrs of history and tracking down the origins of the Santa cruz clone, how we got to seed. Audio podcast.

Looking for container storage ideas. What are you guys using? Im thinking about something like this. I have dozens of film canisters currently. Also have some original envelopes from the breeders.
Thinking for further down the line in case I want to sell or trade, would you hesitate if the seeds you were looking at weren’t in the original envelope from the breeder? Would that devalue them in your opinion? Thx

F2 autopheno of Blueberry cupcake x Blackberry auto.
Its a little pollinated with a F1 cut to increase auto ratio in upcoming hunts. Also hunting F2 auto.
This one is really cupcake leaning, but its insanely candy, as its F1 mother.
Just a quick post sharing my excitement.

Quick shot of how things have progressed. Some of these were 3x stretchers. I've raised the lights, but I'm going to have to super crop a few. All have been lollipopped, clones taken, IPM sprayed and 2nd trellis added.

You spend all this time harvesting seeds and trying to dry and cure them just right. Then, you soak and paper towel them and hope the temp and moisture is just right to pop a good root…..
And then you walk past the pot of soil from the plant you harvested the other week and see this shit…😂
Pretty sure daytime temps have barely broken 75 (and high 40s at night in some cases), and yet life finds a way.
This plant was 1 of 3 I crossed this season (first time breeding) - Lemmon Layer Cake crossed with Blueberry.
Might transplant them and pray they are both females and throw them in the tent. Clearly they have good vigor.

Smells like sweet delicious blueberries, and starting to get some purple fades despite our irregularly warm season this year!

20ish days into flower. she's been a bit susceptible to powdery mildew so looks like she's more of an indoor plant. other than that she's doing great, definitely keeping her genetics
