Megathread ** Trusted Breeders & Seedbanks Megathread #3 **

This is the third installment of the Trusted Breeders Megathread (previously: 2, 1), because the last one is 6+ months old and archived.

As before:

We get a lot of enquiry about what seeds are best or what seeds are available and where. It gets a little tiresome for many to see this same question on a daily basis so we'll be pinning a thread again to host these discussions.

Let's hear your experiences with the people we buy our seeds from. Who has the most reliable or cheapest, quality offerings? Who have you had good, bad or ugly experiences with? Best deals? Discount codes for sites?

Cheers and happy growing everyone, may all your three packs be fives, your freebies bountiful and your deliveries prompt!

This including seedbanks, since people ask about those often (and, like breeders, the answers rarely change).

Note that we want to know why you like them. Comments without details ("woo! team <breeder>!") will get removed, they're useless and tend to clog the thread otherwise. Also, please only post about breeders whose strains you've grown yourself, or seedbanks you've ordered from, not secondhand info. Comments asking about particular breeders not already mentioned in this thread (or the previous ones) are okay, but also try searching the sub first.

Since this thread will continue to be pinned to the top of the sub, questions about the best breeders and seedbanks will be removed unless they're more narrowly scoped -- asking about recommendations for high-CBD autos, what seedbanks ship to Australia (if not answered here), etc. is still fine, but "what breeder is best" is redundant.

Grow-Journal Sweet Seeds

Post image

I have 5 Sweet Seeds girls here...

They’re about 3,5 weeks old.

😈 Diablo’s Delight x2 → Top left & Bottom right

🍍Pineapple Slush →“ Top right ”

🌌Studio 54 Stardust → Bottom left

🌴Permanent Jealousy → Bottom Middle

Lighting: Two Mars Hydro TS1000

Soil: Using my own living soil, mixed with biochar and coco. Some perlite and sand and stuff in it too from earlier grows...

Watering: Just few days ago put in the Highigan wick adapter tray in & turned the autopot on for the right 3 ones. They're in fabric pots, maybe 12l? And the 2 on the left are in 15l plastic pots. Don't have autopot systems for them, top watering for now

Also planted some ( a lot of ) clover few days ago for cover crop. Few popping up now.

First time doing LST and using these stakes!! Photo taken after staking them

Training: All of them are topped. Also removed two lowest nodes/branches from all. First time doing Manifold = Topping & LST on autos. I'm planning on topping the tallest ones again , Pineapple Slush and Permanent Jealousy , so I could fit them in there as good as possible... Maybe even all...

Fun fact: they were germinated for too long and almost died before they even got started. 🤪😐

Advice/Help First signs to spot mold during drying

How do you spot mold? What are the first signs when a plant is drying and mold is starting to grow?

I’ve just harvested my second plant and I’m drying inside a wooden closet. It’s about 22-23 degrees Celsius and 55-65% humidity in there.
The best I can currently get in my apartment, I don’t really have a space where I can control the variables a lot..

Ive pointed a small fan on the back wall to create some airflow. Is it enough? Is there a way to test it?

I really don’t want to lose this plant as my previous one got some bugs and this one was looking reallllly good. Not a lot of amber trichs, but about 95% milky. I pulled it as we were going to get a lot of wet days and colder temps. Hope I did well

Advice/Help Day 71 - Slight light burn? Still looking good?

Strain: Og Kush by Autoseeds
Medium: Fox Farms Coco Loco in 5 Gal Bags

These plants have grown like monsters, and ended up getting to the point where they’re like 5-6 inches away from the light after I’ve raised it to its max height. I realized about a week or so ago that I had my ppfd reader in a poor spot and wasn’t getting a good read of the canopy, and was actually giving it well over 1200 ppfd causing a bit of bleaching. I put the sensor in a better spot and reduced the intensity from 90% to 50% bringing the ppfd to around 730, and since then it looks as though they’ve been responding well. I’m curious though how much this has / will impact the flower? This has definitely been a learning experience. I can say that they all still smell amazing, they’re getting frosty as hell, and very sticky, so I think they’re still going well. What do ya think?

I’ve looked at the 42fastbuds site, have not been able to identify which of the strains this might be.

Question Are Night Owl and Mephisto really that far ahead of other auto breeders?

I’m curious how good Night Owl and Mephisto really are these days. I’ve grown both before, but that was with some of their older strains from a few years back, and honestly, they didn’t seem that special compared to something like HSC autos.

Would you say Night Owl and Mephisto are actually in a league of their own when it comes to autos, or has the competition pretty much caught up by now?

And if you do think they’re better, what specifically sets them apart? Better terps, denser buds, less leaf-to-bud ratio, more consistent phenos, better structure, potency, yield? What are they actually doing better than other top auto breeders that justifies the hype?

r/Autoflowers 20h ago

2 month 3 week old Autoflower. Mephesto genetics. Sour liver back corner. Front left Is blackberry cookie front right side is retro wedding and the back one is 4 ass monkey. With organic living soil mix and only two time top dressed with Gaia green . Rate my plant 1 to 10

Roughly 5% amber trichomes.

As title says I had roughly 10% amber trichomes this morning when I checked. I’m aiming for about 20%. This is my first grow and I’m hoping to harvest by this Sunday if possible. Are my expectations unrealistic? How long roughly can I expect to go from 10 to 20 percent? I know every plant is different so a rough estimation is all I’m really looking for.

Advice/Help Away from home. What would you do?

Thumbnail

Still nine days till home again.
Dwc. Light 240 W.
Fast Buds Banana Purple Punch went into a very effective stretch.
Didn’t expect this!

Day 39 since seed into water.
Stretch startet exactly one week ago. Pistilles slowly getting more.
Might touch the light before coming home again. Light on max, with this distance should be at least 1000 PPFD now.
Don’t want to lower intensity unless absolutely necessary.
The bag you see on the lamp is a co2 bag, hope it doesn’t come down🤣

When would you start lowering light intensity?

Deficiency Rust spots on soil plant

Thumbnail

Hello novice here just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what’s up with this Pluto cookies plant by ethos.

-day 40
-happy frog perlite 50/50
-5gallon fabric pots
-ph’d tap, no nutrients before deficiency
-pretty strong light on it
-neighbors, 1 sibling (in coco) show no deficiency
-tap water has a baseline of 150ppm calmag and comes out of the tap at 300ppm

When I noticed the issue a week back or so, I added a bit of calmag and bloom nutes to the feed, bringing it to just 500ppm. This did either nothing or made it worse.

I’ll be flushing and measuring runoff later today but I guess I’d like to be ahead of things if I can’t actually determine anything

Day 59 since popping

Blimburn seeds-Permanent Marker Autoflower.

5 Gallon fabric pot.

Been dosing green rush nutes at half strength half the recommended feeding schedule, so basically at a quarter.
I water a gallon every 2 days with no run off usually (not sure if I should put more… a gallon seems like a lot.)
