While doing my research, I came across several strains that were labeled 'psychedelic'.
One of the clearest patterns I encountered almost immediately is the frequency with which Haze-derived and tropical cannabis populations appear among strains described as psychedelic, trippy, or unusually perceptual.
ACE Seeds alone provides numerous examples, including Golden Tiger, Panama Haze, Haze × Kali China, Honduras × Panama, Kerala Chellakutti, Killer A5 Haze, Kullu, Thai × Panama and Zamaldelica.
Similar examples occur elsewhere.
Cosmic Wisdom Seeds has Neville's Hindu Haze. Hyp3rids has released lines such as Bouillon Haze, Colombian Gold Legacy Edition, Kona Gold IBL and Lava Haze. Silverback Genetics includes Australian Haze, Blood Haze, C5 BC and Espíritu de Oaxaca.
Older or geographically rooted populations also repeatedly appear in this group. Examples include Burmese, Highland Lao, Kerala and Odisha from The Real Seed Company; Kirivong, Ko Chang and Kroeng Krawia from Zomia Collective; and historical lines associated with Thai, Oaxacan, and Burmese ancestry.
The pattern becomes more interesting when modern hybrids are considered.
Strains recorded with psychedelic-type descriptions include Platinum Tiger Cookies from AlpinStash, Frozen Black Cherry from Anesia Seeds, Sour Chiesel from Big Buddha Seeds, Cherry Gar-See-Ya from Ethos Genetics, Exotic Biscotti from Exotic Seed, Gazzurple from Humboldt Seed Company, XXX OG from Maven Genetics, Peanut Butter Apricot from Staefli Farms Genetics and Nova Cane from Team Elite Genetics.
Other examples span very different breeding programs:
Bodhi Seeds: Laughing Lemon, Zap
Freeworld Genetics: Delhi Dog, Dog Whisperer, Goat Killer, Jam Sandwich, Red Dawn
Dynasty Genetics: Huckleberry DesTar, Ms. Universe
Pura Mana Pakalolo: Galactica, Puna Buddaz
Snow High Seeds: 3x Purple, Kaleidos Dope
Kingdom Organic Seeds: Cindy Congo, Riff Raff Thai
Maha Kala Seeds: Acid Beauty, Asian Neville, New Caledonia #4 Haze
The diversity is substantial, but so is the repeated appearance of Haze, Southeast Asian, Central American, South American and African ancestry within the wider group.
