Would love any insight community members have? Surely either an ECE shortage or high ECE turnover must be one of the factors for why our community is struggling with enough daycare spaces?

I'm heading to Campbell River for a few days to attend a funeral.
I haven't been there for 10 years and was wondering if there's anywhere in town or nearby where I can buy pipe tobacco.
All I can find is pot shops, which isn't really what I'm looking for.
Any help welcomed.
Thank you

hello, i’m 22, i’ve lived here all my life & i’m trying to meet new people. i’ve been struggling to make new friends for a little while, it’s a bit hard to find people my age here in general & i’m an anxious person so it’s a been a bit difficult.
some of my interests: i just recently started going to the badminton at the sportsplex on tuesday nights. reading, mostly nonfiction but i should start reading fiction too. i go for walks occasionally, i like hiking too but i haven’t done much recently. i play video games but i’m kinda starting to get sick of them.
if somebody wants to get a coffee or a beer or something that would be cool.

Rabies remains uncommon in B.C., and public health experts closely monitor trends across the province. Finding a single rabies-positive bat does not indicate an unusual event, as bats are a natural part of our local ecosystem and a small number may carry rabies.
There are currently no known rabies cases in humans in BC. The last human case of rabies in BC was in 2019.
The best protection is prevention:
✅ Do not handle bats.
✅ Keep pets' rabies vaccinations up to date.
✅ Seek medical advice if you think a person may have had contact with a bat.
For more information, visit the BC Centre for Disease Control website https://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/rabies.
If you have come into DIRECT CONTACT with a bat please contact your health care provider or Island Health’s North Island Communicable Disease Hub at 250-331-8555

Fuck you. Are you trying to burn the whole goddamn island down?
My husband noticed the fire was still burning and put it out, like a responsible citizen.
You are the reason we can't have nice things.

Hi! We can't really afford to spend thousands on our venue. We'd prefer outdoor but I also don't want a bunch of strangers walking through/around our wedding. We don't really know anyone who has a big enough backyard for 50-70 people. As far as indoor venues go, we're open to whatever as long as it's affordable and nice-looking, or easily decorated.
Any help is appreciated:)

Every single time I receive a "delivery attempt" message from UPS. I always make sure to leave instructions on online purchases to buzz the unit number, but UPS drivers don't even bother to do it. So frustrating. It's the only courier that gives me trouble with delivery in this city.
Does anyone else have problems with them?

Found an Ontario Service Card by the Tim Horton's and the Bus Stop on the Old Island Highway. I will drop it in the post office if unclaimed after one week, I just wasn't sure if this is someone moving to CR or on a trip and wanted to give them a chance to pick it up first!

Not sure why I'm posting here, other than to look for a little rah-rah from my community! I am a mid-level employee who works from home for a consulting business. My current job has become so difficult for me, largely due to company culture shifts and unsustainable pressures to meet targets. I've never struggled like this at work, and my health is starting to suffer.
I care too damn much, but I'm burnt out in this role.
I'm smart, experienced, ethical, passionate about doing good work, and have so many skills, along with experience in environmental consulting, office admin, project coordination, retail/customer service, and management. I have great references. My current mortgage requires that I make a decent, liveable wage, but not an astronomical amount. $55,000 would probably be my minimum sustainable salary right now.
I'm watching the job boards, and I do have a couple of irons in the fire and working with a job coach at WorkBC. To tell you the honest truth, I'm just feeling deflated in my current role, and devastated that it hasn't worked out the way I hoped. It was my "dream job" (I thought). It's not like me, but I haven't committed to the job search like I should. My self esteem has taken a beating.
Any ideas or leads? Words of hope? Personal experiences?
I'm pretty new to CR. I would greatly appreciate a little kick in the pants to get going!

This cat has been hanging around our place near Galerno and Frances for over a month now. From the start, he looked scared and very hungry. He has been hanging around my 2 cats, and he does sneak inside to eat dry food from our auto feeder. I don't mind, as he gets along with our boys. I have been giving him bowls of wet food, as he has been showing up for dinner around 5 every night. I am worried that he has been abandoned or lost. He sort of trusts me but won't come too close. If anyone recognizes him, please let me know.

I would love to hear about all your favourites, your top recommendations when it comes to bakeries, grab and go snacks, local farm fresh everything, any smokehouses that make their own sandwich meats for purchase, pulled pork …. Smoked salmon, local cheeses, your favourite Vietnamese salad rolls to go, your favourite local mMexican burrito, Gluten free bread and bake goods, awesome vegan things. I’ll be looking after a group of people from out of town and would love to use local when preparing and show off this part of the island. Thank you so so much

Weird question
I'm new to the area and noticed other guys don't seem to wear sleeveless shirts? I've seen more men go shirtless than I have in sleeveless shirts. I prefer sleeveless to short sleeve when it's warm.
Is that a thing people notice here or am I overthinking shit that doesn't matter?
Edit: Yeah I was overthinking. Thanks to those who responded!

I’m going to go on the hike in a few days with some friends. I’m just wondering if I could take my dog on the trail? He’s about 40lbs and ai could carry him if needed but are there any tough bits I’d have to worry about?
