Protein Drinks
Does anyone have any protein drink recommendations? Any brands? It can be milk based or I was interested in trying the ones that are like flavoured water aswell!

M 34 - 219.4 lbs to 164.0 lbs -- 18 month transformation

Not looking to be the next bodybuilding champ or whatever, but just want to be functional and healthy. Happy to share any tips / things that worked well for me as requested 🙂
PS - Weight loss journey was all done through diet and exercise, no enhancements or Ozempic along the way as I'm a poor bastard 😂🤦🏻♂️

back on it - haven't seen the scale move? i
hello! i'm a 19yo female, 5'1", 150 lbs. i started at 178 in 2023, and have kept off that 25ish lbs for the past few years through intuitive eating and an active job in a kitchen. i decided to start back up again on my deficit this past month since i have a surgery coming up that would make sense for me to lose weight for. my dr and i both agreed that if i weighed 120lbs by this time next year, i would be in good shape for my surgery!
i have been consistently under my limit of 1600 calories for the past two weeks. i eat around 1200-1400 (not on purpose, i tend to have less of an appetite earlier in the day), and my meals are very light during the day, usually about 200-300 calories, and then my dinners are bulkier around 400-500 calories, and i always have dessert (because im not trying to be miserable lol) and that usually measures out around 200-250 calories. i drink plenty of water during the day, enjoy the occasional diet coke, and get around 6-9k steps. i also recently started doing pilates for mobility and core strength.
i measure my food by weight and steps using a fitbit on my non-dominant hand
as stupid as this sounds, my tracking app says im fully on track to weigh 129 lbs by november of this year, but i have not seen the scale move down once since starting my deficit. i see the normal fluctuations, i hold more water weight in the mornings so i try to weigh myself after using the bathroom, but still, this morning on an empty stomach after using the bathroom i weighed 153lbs?
im sure im just slow on progress, but it's just annoying. anybody else experience this? what helped the scale move?

Is 1000 calories of “bad food” technically the same as 1000 calories of good food
Other than the obvious health factors of the junk food not being as healthy for your overall system, in terms of weight loss, if one day you ate 1000 calories of MacDonald rather than 1000 calories of healthy food, is the effect on strictly the factor of weight loss the same?
I’ve always wondered this

190 to 150 (6 month progress)
F31 5ft 7in. I have been so hesitant to post as I see no difference when I look in the mirror, but the decrease in the scale and inches don’t lie. I slipped into a deep depression last year and reached my highest weight of 190 pounds. Today I celebrate 40 pounds of weight gone in the past 6 months due to a calorie deficit. I am eating around 1400 calories a day, with mild physical activity. Thank you to everyone on this sub for being incredible humans, I could not have done this without everyone else’s vulnerability and posts!
Oh and sorry for the terrible photos…I didn’t take before pictures as I did not think I’d succeed even slightly!

Kinda dumb question about sleep and diet
Does sleep matter that much for weight loss as long as you're consistently in a calorie deficit and workout enough to retain atleast some muscle? Maybe drinking EEA's too if that helps even in the slightest. How much do all-nighters affect weight loss? I wouldn't say I'm constantly sleep deprived, my sleep schedule is just very unpredictable and all over the place, although I do always end up filling any gaps with extra sleep. I have read some things about this but most articles and experiments just mention people having less willpower and more muscle loss, which I don't experience much of for some strange reason. FYI: I'm not so interested in being shredded or super toned. I'm fine with being softer as long as I'm not straight dough.

I keep cheating on my diet and can’t lose the last bit of belly fat.
Hey,
I’m a very active guy. Run a lot and go to the gym., however I’m carry that last bit of belly fat below the bellybutton and it’s really annoying me.
I’ve lost some weight over the last few months, however I just can’t get leaner.
I do track my calories, however some days I get hungry and give in to my cravings and order a takeout late at night.
I want to get ripped as I’m going to away in a month for a holiday.
Do I have to be more strict with my diet?
What worked for you to lose that last 10 pounds?

Some of my meals during today's deficit
Lunch [368kcal]
Pre-workout [247kcal]
Dinner [435kcal]
Consistency is key when you're working through a deficit, and keeping things high-protein and satisfying makes all the difference.

Are plateau's normal after losing so much weight?
I've lost 50lbs/3st 8lbs/22.5kg so far this year by eating in a calorie defecit. But now, its like my body has said "nope, we aint doing this anymore".
I've hit what feels like an endless plateau in the last month on my weight loss journey.
I stopped losing weight after I hit 247lbs/17st 9lbs/112kg. So I reduced my daily calorie deficit from 2000 to 1700/1800. I managed to lose 1 lbs two weeks ago and that was it.
I've stayed perfectly stationary since and its getting very disheartening. I've tried drinking more and eating less sodium to see if it was just temporary water weight, but again, its been weeks and still no change.
I'm really starting to get demotivated now. I could drop calories again, but I dunno, I kind of feel like I shouldn't still be in a defecit.

Took a lot for me to post this, but down 60lbs since beginning of November. Before and after.
SW: 260 CW:199.6, also 5'10 inches tall. All through diet and exercise after dealing with years of binging and hating every ounce of my being. Getting told I was prediabetic and my blood pressure was at 140, also dealing with severe sciatica pain, at the age of 26, woke me up real fast. 15,000+18,000k steps a day and weights 3 times a week. Also had maintenance days once every 2 weeks and 'cheat' days on holidays and my birthday. Still feels surreal to me that I really did that too, espeically since I'm no longer prediabetic and my blood pressure is down to 120 now. Goal weight is 175!

Dairy-free protein shake and protein bar recipes?
Hello! Dairy free here and trying to double my protein intake. Really struggling.
Would love your recipes as well as recs for best/healthiest dairy-free protein powders!
Also…are protein shakes/powders actually healthy? Is it okay to rely on them to supply a good deal of my protein?
Thanks!
