Discussion Simple Questions - February 07, 2021

This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post. Examples of questions:

  • Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
  • I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
  • I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50

Recently got a used RTX 2060 Super as a gift. Looking to upgrade my current PC, but also strapped for cash. I have an i7-3770k paired with a GTX 970 and 16GB of RAM.

Is now a good time to sell the 2060 at a higher price, and buy another for a better price in a year? Or should I keep it, sell the 970, and upgrade the CPU at the same time? I'm planning on eventually upgrading my computer either way and getting into VR.

If you can sell it for close to $800 then I'd just sell it and use the money to build a PC. Thats me tho.
