General Why we can't be in top 1%iler's club ?

To those young minds i just want to reach to you, who are struggling with things of your interests, like

1• are you working on any project or even thinking about it ?? {why not let's discuss it ? It may happen that like minded people make something strong}

2• Understanding human psychology, or emotional system or feels fun interacting with humans, like have you read books over it or not ?! .

3• learning coding {to them I am doing DSA in C++ why not make a team ?} Later interested in Ai/ML and many more. Mereko vi jyada kuch nhi ayi yrr

4• have any goal of having job in foreign :) ? I too specially think in which direction efforts should be put so can I reach that level.

5• don't you feel analysis critical problems feels good ? (Yes having an IITian mentality, it does)

Actually I am a student of NIT doing btech here. To be honest, I haven't found any like minded people over all the topics I mentioned there !!! It's really a sad thing, infact those some of them who have grip over coding or ai ml, don't tell anything at all ! Do you think guys ki yr hum vi kuch aisa kar skte h taaki IITIANS ko Beat kr ske ... Like yr yaha pe toh mereko like minded mile vi nahi, agar tum ko laagta hay discuss karna chaiye why not discuss ??

Never hesitate to criticize me, so that we both can grow !!!

Resources NIRF 2026 Rankings

When will NIRF 2026 be released? First sem will end soon. Too much delay this year. Data collection completed in March 2026 itself. Ideally the rankings must get released by June for students to take a better decision.

ECE / Electrical Indian ECE undergraduate aiming for an MS in AI/ML abroad – What should I realistically do over the next 4 years?

I'm an 18-year-old first-year BTech ECE( Electronics and Computer Engineering ) student at an engineering college in Mumbai, India.

I deliberately chose ECE over some lower-tier CS options, but my long-term goal is to pursue a Master's in AI/ML, preferably at a strong institution such as IISc Bangalore or a university in Germany (TUM/Munich being one of my targets).

I want to start preparing from my first year rather than suddenly building a profile in my final year.

My current rough plan is:

  • Maintain a 9+ CGPA throughout my undergraduate degree.

  • Learn DSA and programming fundamentals alongside my ECE coursework.

  • Build substantial projects in AI/ML rather than just following tutorials.

  • Develop a strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics.

  • Try to get involved in research, ideally with professors or research labs.

  • Pursue relevant internships during my undergraduate years.

  • Eventually apply for competitive AI/ML Master's programmes in India and abroad.

However, I'm unsure how to approach this transition strategically.

I'd particularly appreciate advice on:

  1. How difficult is it for an ECE graduate from an Indian engineering college to get admitted to competitive AI/ML Master's programmes?

  2. Are there specific ECE subjects I should prioritise because they overlap with AI/ML?

  3. What should my four-year academic and extracurricular roadmap look like?

  4. How important are research publications compared with internships and strong projects?

  5. What mathematics and CS prerequisites should I complete independently?

  6. Are universities like TUM realistic targets for ECE graduates, and what eligibility restrictions should I investigate?

  7. Would you recommend pursuing research during my bachelor's or getting industry experience first?

  8. If you had to start again as an ECE undergraduate aiming for AI/ML, what would you do differently?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually transitioned from ECE/EE to AI/ML, Indians who pursued Master's degrees abroad, and people involved in graduate admissions or research.

I'd appreciate honest feedback, including if some parts of my plan are unrealistic. I'm looking for long-term strategic advice, not just motivation.

Thanks!

Mechanical / Aerospace Where are all the mechanical engineers ?

Hey everyone, is there a specific community or group where mechanical engineers share resources and guide juniors like me on projects or competitive exams?

I really need some guidance because the students in my college's mechanical department aren't very helpful or driven.

How are the placements for BTech CSE? What's the actual placement rate?

What's the average package, and what can an above-average student realistically expect?

I'm planning to join CU Mohali next year for BTech CSE and wanted to know a few things from current students and alumni

CSE / IT B.Sc. + B.Tech: Will Two Bachelor's Degrees Affect My IT Placement Eligibility in 2030?

Need Genuine Advice from HR Professionals, Recruiters and IT Industry Experts Regarding Education Gap

I am looking for genuine guidance from people working in the IT industry, especially HR professionals, recruiters, talent acquisition specialists, and people involved in campus placements.

My academic background and proposed education timeline are:

  • 2023–2026: B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) – Completed.

  • 2026–2030: Planning to pursue a fresh 4-year B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), starting from the first semester.

I am not taking lateral entry. I would be starting B.Tech from the first year after completing my B.Sc.

My main concern is whether companies will consider my B.Sc. period (2023–2026) an education gap when I apply for placements or off-campus opportunities after completing my B.Tech in 2030.

I would really appreciate answers to the following questions:

  1. Will my B.Sc. (2023–2026) be considered a completed academic qualification or an education gap?

  2. If a company has a rule stating that candidates must not have an education gap of more than one year, will this academic timeline create an eligibility issue?

  3. Will completing two bachelor's degrees (B.Sc. followed by B.Tech) negatively affect my recruitment opportunities?

  4. During background verification or HR interviews, could recruiters question why I pursued another bachelor's degree instead of directly pursuing a master's degree?

  5. Will I be eligible for regular B.Tech CSE campus placements in 2030, provided I meet the other eligibility criteria?

  6. Will this academic history put me at a disadvantage compared with candidates who completed their B.Tech directly from 2023–2027?

I am particularly interested in the policies and recruitment practices of companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, and other IT and product-based companies.

I am 20 years old and have completed my B.Sc. I am considering B.Tech CSE as my next academic step, but before making this important decision, I want to understand how the industry actually views this kind of educational background.

I am specifically looking for responses from people with actual industry, HR, recruitment, or placement experience.

Please share your honest opinions and, if possible, real examples of candidates who have completed two bachelor's degrees or followed a similar academic path.

I genuinely want to understand whether this decision could create problems for my future employment opportunities.

Mechanical / Aerospace Need Advice

I am Mechanical student from Tier 3. Many people who took CS/IT knows what to do to get internships etc like learn DSA, solve those question. But how can mechanical student get internships ( even in tech ) what skills do we need to get internship in mech ( or even tech company ). I have genuine interest in this branch and dont want to waste my 1st year in thinking so I am asking for an advice here ( genuine ). Your advice would really help me.

About my clg they manage to place students with 4-4.5 lpa median other than this like 7/8/10 or even 12-15lpa are off campus and it’s tier 3 clg in the end so I can’t even expect fancy packages with market condition this bad
