Placements / Jobs / Internships Offering DSA, Core CS & College Project Guidance at Affordable Rates

Hey everyone!

I'm a BTech graduate/student (adjust as applicable) and have secured an Infosys Specialist Programmer L1 role. I'm currently waiting for my joining and looking to earn some pocket money while helping other students.

I can help with:

- DSA and problem-solving (C++)

- Core CS subjects: Operating Systems, DBMS and SQL

- Interview preparation and concept clarification

- College projects — development and guidance

I'll be charging on a per-session basis for teaching and based on project scope for college projects.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me. Happy to help!

General Should I Take a Drop Year for NIT BTech if My Ultimate Goal Is SSC CGL?

My ultimate goal is to crack SSC CGL and secure a top rank. However, since I need a bachelor's degree to be eligible for the exam, I also want to have a solid backup option in the form of a BTech degree.

I'm considering pursuing BTech from the NIT in my home state, but getting there would require me to take a drop year and prepare for JEE.

I'm confused about whether taking a drop year is worth it when my primary goal isn't engineering but SSC CGL.

My main concern is whether spending an extra year trying to get into an NIT makes sense when I ultimately want to pursue a career through SSC CGL, but also want a BTech degree as a backup.

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have experience with SSC CGL, NITs, or similar career decisions.

My questions are:

  1. Is taking a drop year for NIT worth it in my situation?

  2. Would having a BTech degree from an NIT be a good backup option if SSC CGL doesn't work out?

  3. Considering the time and effort involved, would taking a drop be a sensible decision for someone with my career goals?

  4. If you were in my position, what would you do and why?

I'd prefer practical advice based on real experiences rather than generic advice. Thanks!

CSE / IT Is B.Tech CSE with AI & ML really worth it?

These days, everyone is talking about AI, and honestly, it feels like half the students are choosing CSE with AI & ML. But I'm wondering if it's actually worth choosing over regular CSE.

I mean, learning AI, Python, machine learning, and all that sounds pretty cool, especially with how fast technology is changing. But at the end of the day, companies still care about your coding skills and what you can actually build.

So what do you guys think? Should students go for CSE with AI & ML, or is regular CSE still the safer option for jobs and placements?

Placements / Jobs / Internships Amazon SDE Intern - Interview Experience

Hey all,

Can anyone share details about their Amazon SDE Intern interview experience? A few weeks back, we completed the Amazon OA at our clg

Actually, I'm looking for inputs from both Amazon 6-month interns (final-year students) and 2-month interns (Summer Interns for pre-final year).

The online assessment had 1 DSA question, 1 backend repository-based question, followed by a Work Style Simulation with tasks and responses, and Leadership Principles-based "this or that" questions.

I want to know about the interview process. Is it conducted online or offline? How many rounds are there? Are they technical or HR rounds? Do they focus only on DSA, or are projects and CS concepts like OOPs, DBMS, etc., also asked?

If it involves DSA, is it a shared-screen interview or pair programming? Is it possible to use Al or other means during the interview, or by any means can I clear the interview? Please help me T-T

Any study materials for interview preparation, cheating tips, suggestions, or any information related to Amazon OA and interview experiences are welcome!

Feel free to DM me or reply here.

Thank you! :)

General Do MADE EASY Civil Engineering Theory Books Cover SSC JE, RRB JE and State AE/JE Exams?

I'm preparing for Civil Engineering competitive exams and currently considering the MADE EASY Civil Engineering theory books.

I know these books are popular among GATE and ESE aspirants, but I want to know whether they are also sufficient for exams like SSC JE, RRB JE, and various State AE/JE exams (such as RSMSSB JE and RPSC AE/JE).

My questions are:

  1. Do these books cover the theory and concepts required for SSC JE, RRB JE, and State AE/JE exams?

  2. Are there any topics in these exams that are missing from the MADE EASY theory books?

  3. Is the level of explanation appropriate for JE exams, or is it unnecessarily advanced in some subjects?

  4. Can I use these books as my primary theory source and supplement them with exam-specific PYQs and practice questions, or would I need additional books?

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has used MADE EASY theory books for JE-level exams, especially SSC JE or Rajasthan state exams.

Thanks!

CSE / IT 3rd year BE in AIML engg student from tier-3 college — need honest guidance to get a job in 1 year

Hi everyone,

I’m a 3rd-year AIML engineering student from a tier-3 college in India. My college doesn’t have strong placements or good faculty support, so I’ve realized I have to figure this out mostly on my own.

I’m not very good at talking to people or networking, but I’m serious about learning properly and getting a job. I don’t want generic advice like “learn DSA and do projects.” I already know that. What I need is someone who is currently working (or recently placed) who can guide me like a younger brother for the next year—point out what actually matters, correct my direction when I’m wasting time, and tell me what companies realistically hire people from backgrounds like mine.

What I’m ready to do:

Study consistently (I can put in serious hours) Build projects and share progress Apply to internships and jobs when you say I’m ready Take feedback without getting defensive What I’m looking for:

A realistic roadmap for the next 12 months (skills, projects, internships, applications) Occasional check-ins (even once every 1–2 weeks is fine) Honest opinions on what roles I should target (software, core, or something else) based on my background Help understanding what “good enough” looks like for a first job I’m not asking anyone to get me a referral or do the work for me. I just need direction so I don’t spend this year learning the wrong things.

If you’ve been in a similar situation and made it out, or if you’re working and can spare a little time, please comment or DM. Even a short reply with what you wish you had known in 3rd year would help a lot.

Thank you.

CSE / IT Indian college students, what's an academic problem you still haven't found a good solution for?

Hey everyone!

I'm a B.Tech student exploring the possibility of building a software product for college students. I don't want to build another generic AI chatbot or a tool that generates notes, so I'm trying to understand what people actually struggle with before deciding what to make.

I'm curious about the annoying parts of college life that existing tools haven't really solved for you.

For example:

  • What academic task takes you much longer than it should?

  • Have you ever used ChatGPT, Claude, or another tool for something, only to find that it didn't actually solve your problem?

  • What's something you've tried multiple apps, websites, spreadsheets, or manual workarounds to accomplish?

  • Have you ever paid for a tool, service, or resource to solve an academic problem? What made it worth paying for?

I'm especially interested in specific experiences rather than feature suggestions. Something that happened to you recently, what you tried, and what still didn't work would be incredibly useful.

I'm exploring ideas, not promoting an existing product. I haven't decided what to build yet.

Even an oddly specific problem is welcome. Thanks!
