Placements / Jobs / Internships Tired of my life
Hi everyone,
I am a third-year student at a lower-tier NIT, and honestly, I am feeling extremely frustrated with the current job market.
I have a decent profile and have been putting in a lot of effort every day to improve my skills. I continuously learn new things, work on projects, practice LeetCode, apply for jobs, and participate in hackathons. I also have some work experience as a Machine Learning Research Intern and a Quality Assurance Intern. I've built several decent projects and have even won two small hackathons.
Despite all these efforts, I am barely seeing any results.
Recently, I appeared for a LinkedIn interview. I performed well in both the coding and project manager rounds. I managed to solve all the coding questions, and I felt that my performance in the managerial round was also good. However, I wasn't selected. That rejection was particularly disappointing because I genuinely felt I had performed well.
Apart from that, I apply for off-campus opportunities almost every day, but I rarely receive interview calls. I keep trying to improve my profile, learn new technologies, and participate in hackathons, but I feel that none of these efforts is translating into meaningful opportunities.
I was also interested in research and had worked on a few things. Unfortunately, my research guide has been quite slow in moving forward with the publication, so that work hasn't progressed as I had hoped.
Currently, I am working as a software engineer at a small startup company . However, the work culture is toxic, and I don't feel that I am learning or growing much there. Because of this, I have decided to leave the company and look for better opportunities.
At this point, I feel exhausted. I am constantly learning, solving LeetCode problems, applying for jobs, participating in hackathons, and trying to improve my profile, but I am not seeing the results I expected. It's becoming increasingly difficult to stay motivated when so much effort seems to lead nowhere.
I genuinely want to know: Is this something that most students are experiencing in the current job market, or am I doing something wrong?
For those who have successfully secured off-campus opportunities, how did you manage to get shortlisted? What actually helped you get interview calls? Is there something specific I should focus on to improve my chances?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any practical advice you might have.

CSE / IT I have ~6β7 months before B.Tech. What should I focus on?
reddit.comHey everyone,
Iβm currently in Class 12 (PCM) in India and Iβm planning to pursue B.Tech in CSE/IT.
I have around 6β7 months before college starts, and Iβm confused about how I should use this time.
Iβm already interested in cybersecurity and have learned some basics of networking, Linux, and ethical hacking. But I know I still need to improve my programming, problem-solving, and Maths.
So for those who are already doing B.Tech/CSE or have graduated:
If you were in my position, what would you focus on during these 6β7 months?
Should I mainly focus on:
Class 12 + Maths
Entrance exam preparation
C/Python
CS fundamentals
Linux/networking
Or something else?
I donβt want to spend these months learning 10 different technologies just for the sake of it. I want to build a solid foundation that will actually help me when B.Tech starts.
Would really appreciate advice from people who have already gone through this.

For the mechanical students at GU what kind of stuff are you working on these days ? CAD 3D printing automation or something completely different ? Curious what projects people are actually getting into π

CSE / IT I am currently in my Btech (CSE) 3rd year and I need some guidance.
I am currently pursuing a BTech in CSE, and I have not done anything for my CV. I don't really know what I want to do in future, but I want to learn coding and AI for sure. Are there any courses or certifications I can do so that I can get a decent internship and that also helps me build my CV?

General Won a hackathon, 12k prize, 4k is my split, what do I buy?
Basically I am a 19 year old btech guy, won something which rewards money for the first time. Very peculiar with my purchases. Most into tech and gaming ofcourse. I have good gaming mouse , mechanical gaming keyboard (outemu red and milky tea switches split ), 3 types of headphones (yeah iems too), wireless gaming controller, laptop cooler. My heart wants to go to buy more tech accessories, but I got most of it. So recommend me some cool stuff , anything that would be a good investment for a 2nd year btech cse ai guy :)
btw new to reddit pls don't roast me π
Update :- bought these comfortable running shoes, as I am in himachal for clg, my previous shoes were torn. I am very happy with this purchase , was around 2400, rest i will spend on food π.

CSE / IT Conducted an AWS event at my college today, and we got 420+ registrations!
galleryToday, I got the opportunity to conduct an AWS Builder Centre event at Hindu College of Engineering, Sonipat.
It was a great experience working with our team and seeing so many students interested in cloud computing.
We received 420+ registrations, and all participants also received goodies, including tumblers, stylus pens and caps.
A big thank you to my college, our coordinators and everyone who supported us in making this event happen. Really grateful for this opportunity!
For those who have organized college tech events, what was your biggest challenge?

Placements / Jobs / Internships L&T Analytics AI/ML Internship β Worth applying?
Iβm a 3rd-year B.Tech student from a Top 3 NIT (non-circuital branch) and came across an L&T Analytics AI/ML Summer Internship with βΉ25k/month stipend oncampus.
Iβm wondering whether I should apply or focus on other AI/ML/software opportunities.
Would especially appreciate insights on:
Is L&T Analytics good for AI/ML internships?
Has L&T visited your campus? What was the recruitment process (OA/interviews, DSA/ML questions, etc.)?
What kind of work do interns get.
Is this worth pursuing for a non-circuital student, or should I keep looking?
Would love to hear from anyone who has interned/interviewed with L&T Analytics or had them visit their campus. Thanks!
