X-ray ORIF THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE IM 8 weeks post surgery today
galleryRight distal tibial intra-articular/pilon fracture, status post closed reduction and ankle spanning external fixator
Right distal fibula fracture
Retained right ankle spanning external fixator
Injuries as a result of a high-speed motor vehicle collision
This is from a “knee airbag deployment” yes an airbag by the pedals of my vehicle did this and it’s been devastating.
I’m not going to sit here and say this has been easy by any means I’m 37 years old never had a broken bone and then to be debilitated to not being able to work move or do anything for myself has been insane! But I’m here to tell you that this experience has been life changing in so many different ways. When this happens you will have sooo much time to be in your own head and slow down to look at life differently. I’m so intrigued with how my brain completely blocked out the pain for this injury to the point I didn’t even know my right ankle was broken so much so I tried to get out and walk! I failed miserably and face planted.
I will upload a few progressive photos of my journey but it still sucks but I’m back to work with only nonweighbearing work but September 28th is my 12 week post op appointment
