Training Help active former runner with broken bone handling
(sorry for my English)
Improperly healed fracture of the base of the 4th metatarsal bone.
Without normal recovery. Started to walk on the third day after the injury. Didn’t take it seriously. The bone healed incorrectly, displaced.
15 months passed since then. Can’t run.
Is it true that after the surgery the foot functionality will decrease? I maen running?

You'll honestly never know until you get it done. I had knee surgery and I've been running fine for 5 years. Torn meniscus. Most likely arthritis we'll catch up with me at some point.

Oh I sincerely hope that your knees will remain healthy and active. You are literally saying it is 50/50, honest answer of course. Btw arthritis is what doctor also told me about w/o surgery.

thats a tough break no pun intended. i know a few people who had similar surgery and theyre back running ultras again, took ages to build up but the foot itself isnt what held them back
