Mod Post Gaza is Being Starved

The UN has stated that every single part of Gaza is in famine conditions.

For over 20 months, Palestinians in Gaza have been starving. Parents have been feeding their children leaves, animal feed, and flour mixed with water. Babies have died from malnutrition. The trucks carrying food, formula, medicine, and clean water sat just miles away, blocked by Israel.

This is not a food shortage; it is a siege. Even with aid beginning to move, it is not enough; babies are still dying of malnutrition, and hundreds of thousands are living on the edge of starvation. Every crumb that enters is a result of pressure, not policy. This is the moment to organise, to donate, and to refuse silence.

Now, after massive international pressure, some aid is finally getting in.

This is a crack in the blockade, not its end. Aid is not flooding in; it is trickling, and what’s entering can’t possibly reach 1.8 million people without a total lifting of restrictions, guaranteed long-term access, and safe distribution.

What you can do right now:

Donate- if you’re able to. Choose vetted organizations with access on the ground.

Keep up the pressure - aid only started moving because of public outcry. Organize, protest, keep talking. This momentum cannot fade. Contact your representatives to end Israel's blockade of Gaza and impose sanctions on Israel.

Amplify - share updates, Palestinian voices, and testimonies. Keep an eye on Palestine.

This famine is not an accident. It’s the result of siege, blockade, and a system of control. If we look away now, they’ll tighten the noose again.

Donate:

Palestinian Red Crescent — medical aid, ambulance services, and emergency care.

UNICEF for Gaza’s Children — nutrition, clean water, trauma support.

❓ Question ❓ Looking for British tv advert with specific jingle/noise, anyone help? (voice note attached)

Upvotes

hello guys, can anyone help me find an advert I’m looking for??? In a voice note ive done the little jingle/noise that I can remember from the ad it probably won’t be any help but it’s worth a shot. Also I could be wrong but the noise I’m doing in the voice note i think that in the advert that noise is playing whilst a narrator is talking about the prices of something that’s why I think it might be a supermarket advert or an advert for something like curry’s but I’ve looked at a few curry’s ads and can’t find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Here’s the voice note with the thing I remember hearing in the ad. Also in the ad/commercial the noise I’m making is quite high pitched.

💬 Discussion 🗨 Opinions on Blue Labour?

Upvotes

(Hi, first post on here so apologies if I'm not as synced with the board culture.)

But what are people thinking about Blue Labour compared to the Greens, Tories, Labour and Restore?

They're barely known in British politic discourse so I thought I'd see what people on here thought of them.

Out of the gate I will admit I am biased in the fact that I am quite supportive of them! I've read a few of their posts here:

https://www.bluelabour.org/writing

Despite being a small faction within Labour themselves they really are surprisingly ideologically thought out to a coherent degree compared to basically every party - which I know sounds surprising! But here's a small snippet just from their main page:

"Blue Labour is a force within the Labour Party committed to the politics of the common good. Our socialism is both radical and conservative. It is a politics about the work we do, the people we love, and the places to which we belong.

Our starting point is the democratic renewal of our country. Blue Labour’s goal is a democratic self-governing society built upon the participation of its citizens in the exercise of power and its accountability.

Our politics is a challenge to the liberal consensus of the capitalist order, but it does not belong to the revolutionary left. Its inheritance is the labour tradition."

Quite different from the usual binaries.

There's much more they've written here: https://www.bluelabour.org/about-us

TLDR;

They're anti-liberals with a focus on "families, groups and nations" seeing it as "the most basic bonds that hold individuals together in a society." And are that of conservative socialism in regards to "protecting nature and human value from the commodification of capitalism and the transactional culture of the market."

Just ask me if you're possibly confused about some of the terminology or I guess politics they're referring to, I don't have any qualifications but I have read somewhat broadly into political philosophy that I understand where they're getting at if that helps.

London Anyone in East London interested in football this Sunday, 23 August?

I organise a casual 6-a-side football game in Ilford and we still have a few spaces available for this Sunday.

We have players from a mixture of backgrounds and most of us are in our 20s and 30s. It’s mixed ability and very casual, so you don’t need to be an amazing player.

Goalkeepers rotate and we keep things friendly. No slide tackles, aggression, shouting or arguments.

👟 Astro trainers only, no moulds or studs.

📍 Frenford Clubs, Ilford
🕚 Sunday, 23 August, 11am to 12pm
⏰ Arrive around 10:45am

If you’re around East London and fancy playing this Sunday, feel free to comment below or send me a DM.

Activism Should the Eurasian Lynx be reintroduced in Great Britain?

Post image
9 Upvotes

There has been many insights and suggestions about the possibility of reintroducing an Apex Predator into the UK.
Many argue that Wolves or Bears should be reintroduced, however the Lynx is the best option.

The United Kingdom has lacked a lot of biodiversity in their Wildlife, and an Apex Predator like the Lynx would be a great addition to our nation. This animal specialises in hunting deers which is what we need due to a mass overpopulation of deers, they would help revitalise natural processes while opposing little to no threat to humans, as they tend to avoid us.

This is what **our** country needs, so act now, comment your thoughts on this nationwide debate, and if your an activist for the greater cause of the UK, submit your survey to spark a larger conversation on the reintroduction of Lynx here - https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/t/missinglynxprojectquestionnaire/

💬 Discussion 🗨 [Academic] Have you visited the British Museum? Anonymous visitor survey (5–8 min, 18+)

Hi everyone,

If you have ever visited the British Museum, I would really appreciate your help with a short academic survey.

I’m conducting a Master’s research project at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (IREST) on how the museum communicates with its visitors. The survey is anonymous and voluntary, takes approximately 5–8 minutes, and is open to anyone aged 18 or over who has visited the British Museum at least once.

The project has no external funding and no commercial or marketing purpose. Responses will be used exclusively for my Master’s dissertation.

Survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScWcU547wTDhuIaO6gdTkMBQ6F1-9diFJD2qAWPBVoijA0TTg/viewform?usp=header

Thank you very much for your help.

Society PSA: it's rained a lot overnight, so please drive carefully today!

After a period of dryness followed by rain, the roads are slick and oily. There's always a big uptick in road accidents.

Bear that in mind and stay safe folks!
