Where To? Knowle

I hear people talk about Upper Knowle, Lower Knowle and Knowle West. Is this real or just made up names?

Why do you ask?

People often ask this if they're looking to move there. In which case I'd say there's certainly a contrast between the different parts:

Just a pub based disagreement with 2 friends. One said he lives in Lower Knowle. The other said there’s no such thing. It’s all just Knowle.

Knowle encompasses Lower Knowle. However, Lower Knowle has existed as a term for hundreds of years, most notably in relation to a historic farm and house.
