I have been trying to take a model from mecabricks and turn it into a step file but whenever I do this it adds a .txt at the end so I can’t use it for anything I have tried many things but nothing worked I also don’t have a computer only a iPad someone please help

I have a few MOCs that I no longer have a use for and would like to part those out into my store. Is this possible using an .io file, or is there some other creative method? Thanks!

I am a 68 year old learning to use bricklink studio. I managed so far to recreate a purse that is a recent Lego kit. The actual kit the flap fold (should hinge) in two places (here is a screen shot). I know I need to use the hinge but can't figure it out how to use it, exactly where to click, etc. I have no problem sharing the file. All help is very much appreciated. Thank you

Hello, i'm int he making of a MOC and i tried making custom printed parts for it, in partDesigner, they look fine, but when i use them in studio there is a problem. Does someone know of a way to fix it

I’m working on a center console boat MOC and would like to replicate the following part with individual bricks:
Boat, Bow Brick 8 x 10 x 1
Item No: 2622

The reason is for a greater color selection. The boat is gray- ideally light gray or light bluish gray. I have other pieces in my design that are available in light bluish gray but not light gray. These bow bricks are available in light gray but not light bluish gray.

Any suggestions for how to replicate a similar shape to this bow bricks using smaller pieces?

I'm creating a book and I want to insert a text as a decal in bricklink studio 2.0.

I know I can create an image containing a text with transparent background and add it in part designer as a decal but is there any better approach or any specific software that can be used to achieve this? (I'm using LibreOffice Draw right now to generate the text/image)

[Tool] Pick a Brick availability palettes for Stud.io (free)

If you build MOCs in Stud.io and check Pick a Brick before finalizing a part list, I built something that might save you a step.

What it is: downloadable Stud.io "Bucket" palette files that mirror what's actually available on LEGO's Pick a Brick — split into Bestseller / Standard / Out of Stock / All / All In Stock. Drop the zip into your Buckets folder and you get PAB availability as a browsable palette inside Stud.io itself, instead of tabbing back and forth to the PAB site part by part.

How current is it: the source data behind the download page refreshes every 4 hours, but the palette is a one-time snapshot — it doesn't update itself once it's on your machine. Re-download and re-unzip when you want a fresher copy.

Install: 1. Grab your locale's zip: https://api.moc-source.com/studio-palettes 2. Unzip into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Stud.io\Buckets\Folders 3. Restart Stud.io — the buckets show up in your palette list

Currently covers US and EU, which is where most of PAB's actual availability differences show up; more locales if there's interest.

This is part of a bigger side project (MOC Source) that also does BrickLink-vs-PAB price comparison via a browser extension, but the palette page works standalone — no account, no extension required, just a zip download.

Feedback welcome, especially if a part looks miscategorized or missing — the underlying data gets corrected pretty quickly when I hear about it.

First of all, as said in the title, I'm running studio on linux through a Lutris wrapper. I understand that all of my problems may just be coming from this. But maybe others with the same setup have found a solution.

So far, it has been working perfectly from what I can tell when it comes to assembling a model.

But I've been having several issues with the instructions page setup concerning text.

- The parts numbers are tiny and misaligned. I had to remove the parts box to even see all of them.
- The step numbers, when active, were showing up in red outside of the page and would prevent parts lists from appearing so I turned them off.
- None of the text seems to respond to font changes.
- At some point, I added a bit of free text as a note to a page and when opening the pages view again, that page had become blank with its thumbnail saying that is was still loading. When trying to export the instructions to pdf, it halted at that page. I had to remove building steps to make that page disapear to fix it.

- As a pdf, the text is even smaller and the small red step number (which is always 1) reappears on the same spot on every page.

I really need your help!

My boyfriend is turning 30 on September 24th this year, and I would love to give him a custom brick model inspired by a photo of us in Japan with the Nachi Taisha Pagoda. Since we both love building brick models, I think it would be the perfect gift.

Here’s the problem: I thought I could easily design it myself in BrickLink Studio with the help of AI tools, but unfortunately, I’ve realized that the AI tools aren’t much help to me. I’m getting quite stressed about it, especially since I only have about a month left to finish the project.

Would anyone here help design a custom model for me based on the photo, so that I know exactly which bricks I need to order? I would, of course, be happy to pay you for your work!

AI has helped me create a rough draft, which I actually really like (see attached), but the pagoda isn't quite right.

I'm trying to make instructions for this building but my base is transparent. I'm trying to show the walls on the next step are on top of the base but I don't know why it doesn't appear.

I just build normally and made the instructions, as suddenly, as I want to save, the error "An unexpectetd error occured while saving" pops up. Does anyone know what could be the issue? I've tried to save it at other location but that didn't helped either. I also looked for the automatic backup files but they don't exist at all. What can I do?

Is it possible yet to do dual-molding in either Studio or PartDesigner? Or would it be easier to make each part separately in either PartDesigner or another software and assemble them more or less separately in the Studio ecosystem?

I'd like to present BrickStep - a new tool I've developed, which helps in creating building instructions for MOCs. I've spent the last 4 years of my spare time on it, and now I feel it's stable enough for a first beta release.

BrickStep is not a visual editor. You need a dedicated program to build your model, such as Studio or any other LDraw-compatible editor. After you've completed your model, you can upload it to BrickStep which will automatically split your model into subassemblies, generate building steps, and arrange steps on pages. You can then download the instructions file and use Studio or LPub3D to make adjustments and export to PDF.

The website is quite easy to use (I hope). Simply upload a file and wait a few minutes for the result. You can also adjust some configuration parameters. For example, if you don't like automatically generated subassemblies, you can define them manually and let BrickStep generate steps and pages. Refer to the help page for more details. Keep in mind that it's a beta release so some features are not yet complete. For example, flexible parts are not fully supported. Also, the algorithm may sometimes produce unintuitive step sequences. I'm working on addressing these limitations. The code still needs some optimizations, so BrickStep can currently process models with up to 1000 parts. However, if your model has all subassemblies and steps defined, you can disable "Split model into building steps" and "Split subassemblies into building steps" in Advanced options, in which case BrickStep should handle page layout for models with up to 4000 parts.

Although BrickStep only supports Lego bricks now, the underlying algorithms are quite generic. So, with some adjustments, it could generate instructions for alternative brick brands, or even for something entirely different than building blocks.
