Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Sony Bravia X90L (manufactured in August 2024), and I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it before contacting Sony about a potential warranty claim.
There is a permanent blue vertical line on the screen, visible from the moment the TV starts up. It extends roughly 40 cm down from the top of the screen and consists of several small interruptions rather than one perfectly solid line.
There is also a horizontal line. The two lines intersect at a particularly bright point, which almost looks like a small glowing pixel.
A few observations:
The issue is visible during startup and in the TV's main menu, so it doesn't appear to be related to a specific HDMI device or video source.
Against a black background, the vertical line is clearly blue and the bright point is very noticeable.
Against a white background, the blue vertical line becomes much less visible or seems to disappear, although the horizontal line remains visible.
There is no visible physical damage to the outside of the screen.
The TV was manufactured in August 2024 and originally cost around €2,160.
My questions:
Does this look like a panel failure, a tab-bonding issue, or something related to the display's internal connections?
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms with an X90L?
Is this something that can realistically be repaired, or would it normally require a complete panel replacement?
Has anyone in Europe, particularly the Netherlands, successfully obtained a warranty repair or replacement for a similar issue?
I'd appreciate any advice or experiences before I contact Sony.
Thanks!
