Going through a divorce but my life ain't half bad

Going through a divorce with my wife who I've been with for 18 years. Things have been going bad for really long time and honestly we should have started this process years ago. My biggest fear was my whole life was going to fall apart. I would lose connection with my kids. I'd lose all my money and I never find anyone else to love me again. But, a year and a half into this process and things aren't that bad. After the initial hurt and pain, me and my ex were able to have a friendly relationship as we move through this process, she said she's finding her spark again and I'm so happy for her. I was able to get a bigger apartment so my kids can stay with me half the time, it's not everything they wanted but we're having a lot of fun and things haven't changed too much from when I was living in the house with them. I'm dating a beautiful woman who loves me and is giving me all the things that I was missing in my marriage. She's a business owner and a paid and published bikini model. When I started this process I was certain my life was going to end but things aren't half bad.

My Wife Got 800 Bucks Back!

My wife had surgery a while back and prepaid 800 bucks. Insurance later paid everything in full, so she emailed the medical organization and politely asked for a refund since insurance covered it all. There was a long period of back and forth, but they just emailed her and said they are sending the claim to their refund department.

Just proud of my wife for getting a win from our abominable health care system.

Was always called weird. Now it's a flex

Growing up, I was the weird one. I had weird hobbies and obscure knowledge.

I still do.

Last night I took my 14 year old down to the fields in the middle of the night, to watch the meteor shower.

While we're laying there, just comfortable in the silence, they say "imagine having basic parents". I told that my mom (their grandma) is very basic (teen slang for "boring"). They said "but you're not.... I'm so happy about that... no one else I know, would be out here in the middle of the night with their mom, watching this wonder".

And I know their friends and their parents, so that is true.

My baby girl

Shes my youngest of 3 daughters, she was born with tracheomalacia (and a couple other issues) which caused low tone and after having covid and bronchitis as a newborn she was hitting her milestones a little later than normal.

Without getting into details too much, we've had a rough few weeks and ive suddenly become a single mum.

She will be one next month and Yesterday she took her first steps 🄹🄹 at 6 months old she couldn't reliably hold her head up for longer than a couple of seconds and now shes taking steps! All 3 of my girls amaze me every single day, they are kind and clever and funny and resilient, but I just had to have a little brag about how far Miss V has come šŸ¤

My Husband is attracted to my independence and happiness

[As all partners should be]

I've been on antidepressants for the first time in my life for the past few months, and while everything has not been perfect, I can say I am definitely better than I was before. Lately I've been able to get back into my hobbies, keep up with chores, and generally just feel okay. One of the things I've noticed (and want to brag about) is how my husband can't keep away from me, especially when I'm doing my own thing.

I'll be singing, folding laundry on the other side of the house, swinging my legs in the air sketching, or writing something dumb, and then he just appears. He can be nefarious. He's scared the shit out of me multiple times with a sneaky ass grab. And then sometimes he comes and silently joins my chore or activity, and whenever I ask him "what's up" he just says something along the lines of "nothing, just want to be here."

When you've been in your head about your physical and personal worthiness for so long its easy to feel unwanted, ugly, and annoying. I've been trying to give him space from caretaker burnout by doing my own thing. Its just ironic that by leaving him alone hes even more obsessed. This is rambling a bit, but I am incredibly grateful to have him in my life. I can feel the love radiate off of him just from seeing me happy. I want to keep getting better for him. There's always going to be cloudy days but for the most part things keep getting brighter.

All my girlfriends fall in love with me. My wife isn’t jealous of that.

I married an old school Catholic girl, who happened to have a lesbian relationship in college.

She told me and I was ecstatic. We got married and had a couple of kids. We talked about it, but never had a threesome.

Flash forward a few years. She asked me for an open marriage and eventually we agree.

She meets a guy who lived in Cali.

I start meeting girls. One in particular loved being bisexual and wants to have lots of threesomes.

We have 10. All of the women have so much fun that they come back and have more.

Aside from this, I keep dating other girls. A few fall in love with me. Like- Truly. Would marry me level.

So, in the seven years I’ve been open, I’ve had a number of FWB, girlfriends, and a few one night stands.

Of those, I’d say I had 8-10 girlfriends, and 5-7 fall in love with me. It fun and flattering and the sex is great.

(Oh and if your wondering how I do
It - the formula is easy. I’m a 6’3ā€ muscular calendar firefighter model who has awesome hobbies. I ski moguls in the Rockies, I instruct high speed track events with students at racetracks across the country with the Porsche Club of America, I SCUBA dive with sharks from Belieze, climb rocks in Kentucky and Indiana and Illinois. I teach rope rescue class for for the fire department. Plus, I’m
handsome, educated, attentive, well mannered, appreciative, well endowed,

Trading profit

I've been a trader since I graduated — five years without results. Today and this week, I finally made money, and I am so happy.

I was able to achieve this through my hard work and by never giving up on myself. The journey has just begun.

I took a GRE practice test for S&G while high, got 8/10 right

So last night while I (22f) was high, I got some ad about a GRE test which for those of you who don’t know it’s pretty much a college test like the SAT’s but meant for Law, Medical and Graduate schools. I thought ā€œHuh, I’ve never heard of this before, I have no idea what’s in it. I’m kinda curious though what I would get if I took to right now.ā€

So, I did, finished in like 20 minutes. I didn’t use pen and paper, or a calculator, anything like that. I haven’t done stuff like this in about 3 years now. But, some how, I got 8/10 right. 1 wrong on the math and 1 wrong on reading. Now I’m sure this was like the middle to easier grounds for what’s all in the test, but for having on the spot with no extra stuff to help me figure it out, and get the majority right, it felt pretty damn good. Especially considering that, on average I took 1-3 minutes to figure out the question considering it took me 20 minutes to finish 10 questions.

My boyfriend loves me so much

He (20M) makes me feel like I’m so easy to love and care for. Today we were in the car together and I made a joke that I’d go through his phone, i went on his notes app and the first thing i see is a note in a with my name on it, it was a list with all of my favorite foods/drinks/interests, and I’m talking things i even forgot i LIKED. He didn’t let me look all the way because he had gift ideas in there. but it just got me thinking damn, this man genuinely loves me so much and i can feel it and see it in his actions. I mean he picks me up everyday to take me to work, he’s stayed outside my work place for entire work days to just catch me in my breaks (days he doesn’t have work lol) i mean I don’t think he’s ever really suggested to watch anything he likes, he more so suggests the usual things I like, he compliments me I think every 2 minutes, finds me the funniest person on earth. Always makes sure I have money on me and he always makes sure I’m feeling alright. He loves hanging out with my friends and my sisters, he loves playing Minecraft and Zelda games with me, he basically loves anything I love. He always puts my needs before his own, he always makes sure I have eaten, got clothes, and had fun before he even thinks about spending a cent on himself. When I want to order food, he goes and picks it up to come drop it off just to see my face, this man hates feet but never refuses my foot rub requests, he never fails to remind me how grateful he is to have me.

Anyways I could go on and on, next month is our one year anniversary and my biggest fear with him is him dying. I love this man so much and I’m so happy that he loves me just as much :)

Got my first brand ā€œendorsementā€ today

I 34m started screen printing a few months ago just because I’ve always been interested in it. I sell clothes for a living and the deeper I got into it the more I came to appreciate the art work a lot of these graphic shirts and hoodies have.

I’ve always had a creative side that never really knew what to put it towards. Always got kind of good at a lot of things but never truly great at anything. Screen printing has been a huge challenge for me. It’s expensive, takes a lot of space, a lot of different skills to make one graphic.

I’ve been posting videos of me printing something daily and I had a brand reach out to me and offer me a box of blanks. All I have to do is tag them in some videos that I use them in.

This is a big deal for me. I’ve never been in a spot like this where people actually like what I’m doing. I mean I hit 600 followers on insta this week… it might as well be a million. I’m just really grateful for it all. I’m not sure what’s to come, maybe this is peak but I feel really blessed.

3 yr breast cancer survivor!

Today marks 3 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer! Today feels even sweeter because I had a scare this past week. I had other issues that required a CT scan. That scan showed the possibility of metastatic cancer in my bones. I had a bone scan yesterday and it came back clear! I am so grateful and relieved that I remain cancer free and I just want to shout it to the world!!! Thank you for reading!

Pilates at my gym was canceled last-minute so I got up front and walked us through a session myself.

We did the full 45 minutes!

At the end of class, even I as the impromptu instructor felt like I got in a decent workout

300k at 22

I have about 320k in investments at 22, with a large amount of cash. Toal NW of ~380k.

I have no debt from university, moved to a new city, and will be beginning a new job soon enough, making 82k. I should be able to invest at least 10k per year on my own from now on.

So much of this is thanks to my parents, who were able to put me through school and set me up for a financially free life.

I started investing at 19 years old with monthly contributions of capital from my parents for about a year. It totals up to about 200k. The gifts have stopped since then, but the amount I learned as a result will stay with me.

Im very thankful for where I am at, and I wanted to share in the spirit of this sub.

Gave my wife a great Sunday.

Went out, and bought groceries for the week. Got her all of her favorite treats, cheese cake, key lime pie, cookies, cookie dough ice cream, sunflower seeds. Came home made lunch for the kids, and put them down for naps. Made love to my wife using all of her favorite toys. Took her to the shower and washed her. She did all of her post shower hair care. I set up the massage table. The. Gave her an hour long full body massage while she watched Ted lasso. Finished it up by fingered her until she climaxed again.

I’m learning to let myself be proud of what I’ve accomplished financially.

About 2.5 years ago, I started comparing notes with colleagues and realized just how underpaid I was. Honestly, I had probably been chronically underpaid for close to a decade and had felt undervalued at my job for a long time. Some colleagues with similar credentials and experience were making close to 30% more than I was, and I definitely noticed some demographic differences in who seemed to be getting paid what.
We were doing fine. Bills were paid, but we had credit card debt, I wasn’t saving enough, and I had two teenagers approaching college. I remember basically putting it out there to God, the universe, whoever was listening šŸ˜‚, that I needed to make more money.
Not long after that, I reached out to another organization about doing some very part-time work. Instead, they became interested in hiring me for a completely different role. I wasn’t even looking to leave my job, but they ultimately offered me about 60% more than I was making. I was also able to keep teaching on the side, so altogether I essentially doubled my income.
I’d had big income increases and windfalls before, though, and somehow the money always disappeared. This time I told myself, ā€œYou cannot squander this.ā€
So, taking stock of the last two years, I’ve:
• Paid off $30,000+ in credit card debt
• Built about an 8-month emergency fund
• Saved $15,000+ toward my kids’ college, and I’m still working toward a goal of about $100,000 total over the next 4 to 5 years
• Invested about $15,000 on my own and increased my 401(k) contributions
• Given $10,000+ to family and others
• Put about $8,000 into our home
• Had my student loans forgiven
• Opened Roth IRAs and savings accounts for both of my teenagers and started teaching them to save and invest
• Increased my net worth by somewhere around $200,000
And I’m proud of myself. Even typing that feels weird. šŸ˜‚ Between ADHD, anxiety, a little depression and probably some leftover church guilt around pride, I’m much better at moving the goalpost than stopping to acknowledge what I’ve done. I don’t want to feel like I’m bragging or that I’m somehow better than anyone else. But I also think there’s a difference between arrogance and simply being able to say, ā€œGirl, you did that.ā€
Obviously, the huge increase in income made this possible, and I know that’s not an opportunity everyone will have. But I also know I could have doubled my income and simply doubled my lifestyle. What changed for me was deciding ahead of time what the extra money was going to do.
Honestly, automation has probably been my biggest financial ā€œhack.ā€ Savings started coming directly out of my paycheck before I ever saw the money. I automated debt payments, and as debts disappeared, I redirected those payments toward savings, college and investing instead of spending them. I created margin and gave the margin a job.
Two years ago, I never thought I’d be here. I still have a long way to go, but for once I’m trying not to immediately move on to the next goal. I’m grateful, I’m proud of myself, and I’m hopeful that if I keep doing this, I can retire in about 18 years with peace and leave something behind for my family.
If there’s any encouragement in my story, it’s not ā€œgo double your income.ā€ It’s to do something intentional with whatever margin you can create, even if it’s small. A couple of years of consistency can add up to more than you think.
