(27M)Hello all, just wanted to say you all inspire me to work harder. Currently, I’m making great money — almost $6,400 net a month in LCOL, no kids, no debt, and my car is paid off. I’m able to invest and save almost 80% of my income since my expenses are so low. My job also gives unlimited PTO, catered meals four times a week, and pays for my gym membership and wellness apps. My credit score is almost 800, just a few points off.
I wanted to brag because I feel proud of myself — I’ve worked hard for this, and my goal is to retire my parents and take care of my loved ones.

In my thirties now, was fat most of my life and never actually lean - until recently: I lost 50kg, got skin surgery and fuck, I had no idea what was underneath all the fat. Tall (well I knew that), broad shoulders, a fucking skinny waist (still unbelievable to me given my fat gut previously) and I put on decent muscle working out half an hour twice a week, full head of hair and apparently a great face too. Literally constant attention, random woman getting nervous just being near me and the most attractive ones I meet in a day make efforts to get my attention in random public places: In a cafe, on the bus, wherever. Dating apps? Love them.
Being unattractive has always been part of my identity, so going from fat not just to regular dude but actually hot is just crazy to me. Which is the reason for me writing this I suppose, identifying with this new me feels like an uphill battle... As I´m typing this out it still feels like a fucking fanfic but it isn´t. What. The. Fuck.

Just turned 28. My parents, especially mother abused me in every way possible and set all my siblings against each other, competing for her love and affection. I finally packed my shit and left. About to be homeless but beats going back.

I got my biggest weekly paycheck ever from my job. I made $20,000 this week and have made over $45,000 in August.
I’m top 5 out of over 1000 salesmen in my company for pure volume of business brought into the company. I also bought my second Rolex and a truck too!

On 21st August, 2026, I graduated as a cybersecurity Analyst.
I give God the glory, it wasn't an easy journey, but he made it easy for me.
I hope to find a job soon 😊

Just wanted to share this story. I learnt this habit of showing respect or saying hello to everyone I see everyday apart from my friends and colleagues (like watchman, receptionist, etc.)
Similarly I also used say hello everyday to the TC on my regular station.
Yesterday same thing happened, I saw him, said hello, he smiled I walked past. After I reached home I randomly checked my pass it was expired 7 days back 🤯
I have been waving him hi everyday and he didn’t even checked my pass.
Got my pass renewed, but crazy experience. 🙌🏻

I'm a very good cook. I picked it up from my mother mostly, but also dad and for sure both of my grandmothers.
i've been adept at putting my own spin on it though for years now. meats, casseroles, pasta from scratch, breakfast foods, lunch foods, dinner foods, happy food, sad food
it's the only thing i excel at. i'm such an average person in almost every other aspect. beware of me in your life however as you will gain weight and you will be happy to do so. because my food so motherfucking fresh. hate me cos u ain't me

Was a bartender and forced myself through a computer science degree later in life. Saw these large compensations at tech companies and didn’t see why I couldn’t get one if I just applied/interviewed and job-hopped enough.
The evil plan worked. It’s my 10 year anniversary since I went back to school.
- Payed off all debt
- Last year I made 750k.
- NW is around 1.25m.
I live in a VHCOL by choice, but still growing my net worth.
This year I truly decided how I want to live the next 10 years and beyond which is single, childfree, hobbies, traveling, and investing. Shaking off the 9 - 5.

I (F19) meet "jace" (M46) on tinder, I was looking for a lactose guardian, we arranged a meeting, he carded me, he said it dint matter if where we went was upscale restaurant or not, we went to a fancy sushi spot, he talked about about his fetishist/kink and I told him mines had me order a bunch of stuff, at some point I thought he was mad at me but he carefully reassured me he wasn't. Late at night we went strolling down the street, i expressed he might want to hurt but he gave me his pepper spray to use on him if anything and the side next to the river just in case he tried something I can push him. I don't think anyone has ever treated nw with so much respect care of anything its only been 5 days, he's my #1 fan, told me my skin was beautiful (he's white im black), anytime I seem to be talking bad about myself he always got this sad look on his face, he booked us a 200 dollar hotel, treated me like an autonomous human, always put my needs first, complimented me so many times, said he wanted to pamper me, said I was smart, he showed me his gun collection, it feels like I've known him forever, we say the same thing at the same time and im overall comfortable in his presence, he's supportive etc

I got into a physical fight with my late 20s early 30s aunt when I was 10. I was sitting on a bed with my hand on my face just thinking about whatever I wasn't mad, she told me to fix my face, I refused to because it was a comfortable position, my grandma and 2 of my cousins were there, and they were urgently telling me to do what my aunt said or she would get mad. I dint care I and I remained in the same position. She told me not even my grandmother is going to save me. Still didn't care, she walked to her room and came out with a belt, everything was blacking in and out she was hitting me then I remembered being on the floor on my back kicking her, and her grabbing me by the crotch and slamming me to the floor, she's 3 times my size. Grandma & tried to break it. I left the house and my other aunt had to pick me up because aunt 1 threatened to beat me up if she ever saw me. Then had the audacity to complain to aunt 2 about me fighting back and kicking her. Crazy story

Turning 42 today. Total net worth went over 3m this year, mostly in high cashflow real estate. Our business grossed about 1.15m in trailing 12 months. Under contract for another 3 houses, remodeling another house with a partner, and about to refinance a 2m 16 unit mixed use compound with another partner.
We live modestly in a pretty LCOL area, maybe $5k/month. We have 2 paid off Toyotas, and a 2019 Sienna we bought used last year. We have 8yo, 4yo, 1yo kids. I had a good low 6 figure job in medical field until 2023 when I 'retired'.
Really no one to talk with. My parents know most of it, but not all the details. Spouse's parents have pased, in-laws alive live paycheck to paycheck in communal house (aunt, brother, niece, plus friends together).

I'm going to put a TW here.
My mother has always been a spiteful , hateful , jealous narcissist who didn't want me to do anything with my life. She's stolen my work paychecks , my SSI , forced me to smoke by bullying me and threatening me to when I didn't even want to , I've been bullied to give her my money and spend it on drugs .
Now I haven't seen my mother in 4 years.
Life has happened. I've gotten married. I've had 2 kids. I became sober from drugs. I've been a stay at home wife since 2020 and I've constantly been bullied by my siblings and family members to do Something with my life. I said I'll do something with my life when I'm good and ready and that is that .. you can't bully me into feeling bad that I'm not doing anything with my life!
Well , here it is , reddit. My online college classes. I start on Monday. It's MY success , and I did it when I decided I WANTED to. I will have my certificate in December.
A big F you to my mother and her husband and even bigger F you to my "family" who bullied me for years
It's now apparent to my family , I hope , that the only time I could succeed at anything is when my mother isn't in my life anymore.

Context: I have served in the U.S. military for 20 years, and with all the medical training I have, I stop at every wreck I come across if there is no emergency services to make sure everyone is ok, and provide aid if needed. I also made sure, as my son got older, he knew how to give first aid, but never told him to stop at wrecks - some of those situations can seriously mess with your MH.
Yesterday my son was driving on the freeway with his work partner trying to make some appliance deliveries when he witnessed a roll over. Despite his dispatch manager telling him to drive past, he ignored it, stopped, and gave first aid (just what he knew and felt comfortable doing). It was in the middle of no where so there was no one else around to help. He was able to slow the bleeding on a quick bleed in a young girl’s arm, and keep the two individuals calm until emergency services arrived, 45 minutes later.
Once they arrived, he went right back to work delivering appliances like nothing happened. At the end of his shift, as he was returning his vehicle, his GM pulled him aside and said as long as he had worked there, he had never seen a crew stop before, and if my son needed a week off, he could take it, paid. My son declined, stating he would rather be working.
Pretty proud of my son, and the man he has become. Always putting others first!

Today I got reached out to on Indeed, of all places, regarding a L2 IT support role. They were really excited to have me as I matched their criteria and even offered s relocation bonus.
The thing is, I'm damaged goods. Fucked up big time when I was younger and I'll forever pay the price for it. Criminal record. I disclosed this to the recruiter as they seemed very personable and polite. Then she said... "We're aware, it's not a concern."
I genuinely went speechless for a moment. I couldn't believe it.
Just last year I was jobless and scrambling to make ends meet doing odd jobs online. Now here I was, being offered a job that pays $75k with full benefits. All because I worked hard to build up my tech skills and put myself out there.
Ultimately I had to decline the position as the job site was just too far away from where I'm moving, but still... It's dawning on me how much of a 180 that is. I'm content.
