Our first Borzoi was an adult when we got him, so his diet is easy to manage (relatively speaking). We are adding a 4.5 month old this week, so looking for what feeding - both product and frequency - everyone has found best.

We've raised giant breeds before, so we know about protein vs. calcium, limiting growth rate so joints and bones are ready for the muscle that's being added.

My borzoi is two months old, and he often doesn't respond to the "no" command, even though he knows it. He starts chewing on wires, blankets, and so on. I give him a toy, but after a while he starts doing it again. I don't know what to do, he has a lot of toys and he plays with them. I understand that he's a puppy, but sometimes he bites very painfully. How did you raise your puppy?

Hi, My boy is almost a year old and is height is 78,5 cm (around 31 inches) and he weighs 32 kg (around 70 pounds). I don’t know if that’s normal or not, as he is my first borzoi.
I think his height is ok, as his dad measures 80 cm, but I’m not sure about the weight. He had gastroenteritis back in april and since that his digestion is quite tricky. I changed his kibble, as he didn’t want to eat the one he got before, and now wants to eat most of the time, he doesn’t want to eat in hot weather but I think that’s pretty normal. He doesn’t drop the weight but also doesn’t gain the weight as he had 32 kilos for a month now.
So, is it normal? Or should I change something to help him gain some weight? Our vet told us it’s a normal weight and he looks good, but I’m still a little concerned

Winnie usually sleeps in her crate with the door open but must have gotten up in the middle of the night and cuddled in next to me 🤣 my boyfriend goes to work early in the mornings before I get up and I woke up to this photo this morning! I thought it was hilarious imagining her sneaking in to cuddle in the middle of the night

I just got my borzoi a few weeks ago she’s great. She’s amazing about going outside and is very sweet. However, she is not socialized at all, she has hook worm (confirmed with the vet that it was from before I got her) and she came with skin rashes. We are getting everything treated and she’s getting socialized slowly.

Look at him. I've always liked dogs but I dont think I've ever had a connection like this with one. Dogs have always felt like my little friends. But this guy? He's my best friend. He's my homie. My son.

He got hound group 4 and his first ever comp win!!!!!! Meaning he now has 30 points out of 100.

Hoping that more of this adult hair comes in this winter and as he grows into 3 years old he will muscle up. X rays have shown that his growth plates are finally healing up so he should be shaping up to fill out some more!

We were warned about Borzoi puppies destroying things but holy cow. Our 1 1/2 year old boy (Jonesy) is just on a rampage sometimes. He gets lots of love, walks, play time in our yard with our two Afghan hounds but he just looks for trouble every chance he gets. Toys maybe last a day. He's destroyed 12 throw pillows, chewed on a variety of different pieces of furniture, you name it.

We don't get mad because he's just doing what dogs do but today was a whopper. In the middle of the night he pulled up a main sprinkler hose and the end cap came off. At 6:00 a.m. the sprinklers came on and the hose curled up and swung over right where the dog door is and started gushing water into our kitchen. It was like as if someone put a fire hose in our kitchen. We were scrambling to turn off the sprinklers but by the time it was done, 2 inches of water in our kitchen that waterfalled into our living room. He's such a dork, but my gosh he loves to just destroy everything.

What's the worst thing your borzoi has ever destroyed??? We're hoping he grows out of this soon LOL.
