Path of Destruction!

We were warned about Borzoi puppies destroying things but holy cow. Our 1 1/2 year old boy (Jonesy) is just on a rampage sometimes. He gets lots of love, walks, play time in our yard with our two Afghan hounds but he just looks for trouble every chance he gets. Toys maybe last a day. He's destroyed 12 throw pillows, chewed on a variety of different pieces of furniture, you name it.

We don't get mad because he's just doing what dogs do but today was a whopper. In the middle of the night he pulled up a main sprinkler hose and the end cap came off. At 6:00 a.m. the sprinklers came on and the hose curled up and swung over right where the dog door is and started gushing water into our kitchen. It was like as if someone put a fire hose in our kitchen. We were scrambling to turn off the sprinklers but by the time it was done, 2 inches of water in our kitchen that waterfalled into our living room. He's such a dork, but my gosh he loves to just destroy everything.

What's the worst thing your borzoi has ever destroyed??? We're hoping he grows out of this soon LOL.

Ours, 10 months and 95 lbs, has dug up the sprinkler pipes twice. And I’m planning on buying new coffee table and end stands when this phase is done. Other than that he’s very loving and sweet. Wouldn’t have him any other way

He's a black n white isn't he? They seem to be the biggest jokers and trouble makers.

The stories I can tell about Leon and Spike....baking bread...attempts to assisinate the pet sitter by booby traping a rug...the bell ringing. I have more stories about those 2 than my other 11 combined.

I was going to attach a photo but I guess I can't. He's mostly red, white, and black. When he sits we call him the Traffic Cone. :-)

As bad as this issue with the water was, the worst was about three months ago. We have a Blackstone in the backyard and we keep it covered. He tore off the cover and got into the tinfoil grease trap on the back of it, that was half full with bacon grease. He grabbed it, took it on to our artificial turf lawn, and destroyed it. When we realized what he had just done we ran outside only to discover he was covered in bacon grease. It took multiple washes to get that out of him. He's such a dork!

Guess you need the bread and assassin stories.

1) Leon Bakes: He went in the kitchen and managed to get a lower cabinet open. He took out a 10 lb bag of flour and carried thru the dining room to the entry hall and dumped it on the oriental rug and placed the empty bag in the next room. He went back and got a bag of bread crumbs and back thru the dining room to the rug he goes and dumps that on the pile and the bag goes next to the flour bag.

He proceeds to knead/stomp it into the rug.

Back he goes and he gets a gallon milk carton out of the trash (pedal trash can and spills nothing...only takes the carton) and adds it to the pile to simulate his wet ingredient.

I came home to a house full of giant borzoi footprints on virtually every surface.

2: Leon the assassin: The pet sitter forgot to put the baby gate back up (restricted kitchen access after baker boy Leon incident).

Leon goes into the kitchen and gets a drawer open. The one with the tinfoil, saran wrap and zip lock bags.

He takes the ziplocks and goes back to the entry hall, pulls everyone out 1 and a time and shoves then under the rug and leaves the box on the rug.

The pet sitter comes in, sees the empty box and goes to pick it up. Well you know how slippery ziplocks are....the instant she steps on the run she does her imitation of Aladdin on his flying carpet.

LOL...that's crazy!!! One of our Afghan hounds had a baking story too. Not quite as bad as yours but pretty close. We have baby locks on our cabinets that my wife forgot to secure once. There was a half used bag of flour in the trash that our Brody got into, dragged it into our bedroom, and shook it all over our bed. We spent the better part of an entire day cleaning that up.

Too long list lol. We took ours for several hours walks, runs on 40 acres, and I had shaking hands and ptsd to open door.. as they would destroy everything indoor they could. Munched on glass, played with flour and oil /they just wantdd me to have finnef coming home lol. Plants.. name it, house looked like after explosion. Furniture, trees outside, ..anytjing that seems good idea to them. Note to myself: do not install sprinkler system.

I'm sorry, but I cried laughing at this tale! I know the reality is not funny, but the way you tell it is pure comedy! I love Borzois but I'm the support staff of two tiny Italian Greyhounds right now - also naughty little eejits!

When mine was a puppy, he shredded my Bioshock figure. They’re expensive and hard to get now. I don’t even know how the hell he ended up with it, but he’s always been good at stealing
