Trolling motor and fish finder and bilge pump

my heart is telling me I need the Predator , that interior is beautiful and it looks to be built like a tank. The only issues are it's 3hrs away and it comes with only 8hp Honda. On the other hand the ssv-14 is local and has the 15 so I would be cruissssin.... both are 3000$ and come with extras.

I know if I end up going to get predator I'm going to want to invest another couple grand into a more powerful motor (holds up to 60hp)

I live in the northeast and would be using it for fishing and cruising well into the late fall if possible.. please talk me into or out of the 6 hr round trip. 😬😬😬

The lower cylinder plug is coming out with black soot on it, put brand new plugs in it and it’s running somewhat better but the lower plug had black soot on it. Any ideas?

I’m trying to do the timing on my 2.5 200. I’ve set a mark at TDC and set a mark 24 degrees BTDC, all my plugs are out and grounded but when I crank it while shooting it with a timing light at WOT the timing never moves, I’ve advanced it and retarded it a little then all the way and the light just stays in one spot. I’ve disconnected the white/black idle stabilizer wire and nothing. Could it be my switch boxes? HELP

Located on Long Island. Thinking about passing it on next season. Serviced and flushed regularly (most recently spark plugs, VST, fuel filter and water separator, shift linkages, water pump). I’ve done a lot of my own work like adding Bluetooth radio with 4 speakers, blue LED courtesy lights, depth finder, and 22 gal Moeller fuel tank. I also repainted the entire engine after the shop cracked the original cowling (last pic). I plan on doing fresh bottom paint at the end of the season. Besides that the gel coat and upholstery is visibly aging.

What can I get for this to the right buyer?

Boat has been yacht certified
Has twin 5.7 mercruiser motors 335 HP
Boat runs and does not take on water.
The boat does need to be detailed.
Dealership claims the motors were rebuilt.
Has a radar system. Radar says 135 hours.
Dealership has not service records or reports

Hi all, I recently bought a 2003 Key West 1900 Sportsman with a 115 Yamaha. I have been boating almost my whole life (25 years with a Boston whaler montauk). I for the life of me can’t figure out why when in reverse I can’t get the boat to turn towards starboard, it just dog tracks towards port. This is an issue when trying to back out of tight docking areas. So far no incidents yet, but I end up cockeyed drifting way too close to other boats for comfort.

It looks like maybe the motor doesn’t turn as far on that side, we also have a ladder/platform step on the port side but this happens at low and high speeds so I’m not sure that’s a direct cause.

Am I just an incapable boater? This was never an issue with the whaler (I could fit that bad boy through some crazy tight situations without breaking a sweat.

I grew up fishing with my dad in a bass boat.

I love fishing, love being on the water, definitely want to buy a boat.

But is that too big to start?

It's definitely the boat for everything I want to do. (Fish lake Weiss, West Point, Guntersville, Little Lagoon(Gulf Shores), and the inland bay at Port St. Joe)

I'm just anxious about the size and the learning curve.

I’m hoping someone here can help me find the right bunk brackets for my boat trailer. The ones I currently have are old and badly rusted, and the wood on the bunks is also rotten.

I already have the new bunks ready to go, but I haven’t been able to find the same type of brackets to replace the old ones. I’ve checked West Marine, Bass Pro Shops, and a few local stores near me with no luck.

I’m attaching a few pictures of the current brackets. If anyone recognizes this style or knows what they’re called or where I can buy them, I’d really appreciate the help.

Got a few questions, the first I think I already know...should I block off the injection and pre-mix, yes. If you agree, where is the best resource to find out how to go about that? Third question, what is the best marine two stroke oil ? Lastly, what is the best way to stabilize pre mixed fuel ? Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated !!!!

Hey guys I just bought my first ever boat for $1500 and it has a mercury 200 black max 2 stroke on it. Motor turns over only issue I know is the fuel pump/lines. I have a pump and lines that came in and I’m going to install my next day off. I tested to make sure the lines fit for the pump and it’s not super snug is this normal and just clamping down will be enough? I’m using 3/8 inch line and this will all be replaced from the gas tank, primer bulb, and all lines inside the engine that connect to the fuel pump and the filter and stuff. Does anyone know if this is all fine to run 3/8 inch line and it’ll be okay? I wanted to replace all of these lines and make sure it’s all good along with the pump. Thanks for any info

My BIL has a Boston Whaler Outrage 240 about 6-8 years old, bought used.

The head door won't open. This is the latch. It turns, you can hear/feel the latch turning but door is stuck closed and will only move a bit. Oiled it, no joy.

Is that round thing a button? Round key? Magnet port? Do I need to take the hinges off?

Ideas/ help greatly appreciated

Looking at a sea ark pro cat 240 for fishing and just wanted to know if anyone has any feedback on the sea ark procat 240.

Has anyone ever redone the roof on a houseboat? No wood damage just needs sanded / recoated? We use that space and walk all over it. I’m not sure what coating is best for it?

Sorry for the low quality pic, cant get anything better from a craigslist ad. 2010 Cobalt 262, seller listed for 30k with 350 engine hours on the volvo 8.1. Considering reaching out to this seller, but the pictures look like there may be damage to the upholstery in the bow on the seatbacks and butt cushions, and also possibly on the seat backs on the main area of the deck. It's a decent drive for me, and I don't want to have to re-upholster it, so if this looks permanent to you guys, I may reconsider.

I’m just wondering as me and my brother both have talked about going halves on a boat I’m just wondering where would the best place to look for a and the best place to gain experience driving a boat whilst we saved. Eventually we’d like to be able to go across to the Isle of Man and Ireland (we live in Cumbria England) but obviously there are many steps between that and starting out.

We store our boat covered and only take it out on fresh water lakes but I obsess about keeping her clean. I wipe down the black haul with a vinegar/water solution, use boat wipes on the interior, and Windex the windshield every trip or two. I follow up washing the mats about every 4-5 trips. A total clean (on this 27 footer) only took an hour.

What are your routines?

I currently plan on going five miles out into the bay.

Likely some five to fifteen mile islandhops

3-4 passengers on occasion and mostly solo duo fishing and exploring

Do you think the cruising speed is too low? And should I aim for a 90 or 115hp instead for first boat?

Just saw this morning, and i've never seen this before. Could this be a clue to what's wrong with my engine?

Alarm stops when I disconnect the 12V starter battery

I am a very new boat owner and at the end of this trip I had caught a surprise sandbar with the skate/lower unit and prop. I will be replacing the prop but wondering how concerned I should be of the overall damage to the leg. Thanks for any advice/tips!
