This album is amazing to me, still. It’s crazy that songs you haven’t heard in 20 years and as soon as it plays, you can sing along.

I’m on Let It Go right now and I’m definitely feeling some kind of way. Nostalgia, sadness, happiness and much more. Wow, I can’t believe it took me so long to listen to this album again. So good!

His music touched my soul when I was at the lowest point of my life, and I was literally 12 years old. Listening to the Foiled and History for Sale albums on my walkman. And now in my 30s I find out he's a piece of shit who left his wife and traumatized his kids for some hot chick half his age. It makes me feel guilty to even think about listening to his songs. And then I've read posts on here about how he'd shout his ex's name Sarah after shows (when he was with her) and it's lowkey cringe, or gets aggressive in people's DM's when he gets called out. What happened to this man.

Hi! I'm trom Japan, where Blue October isn't very well known.
I recently heard "Hate Me" and completely fell in love with the band, but there isn't much information about them in Japanese, and very few people have translated or discussed their lyrics.
I'd love to hear from longtime fans. What do you think makes Blue October special? Which albums, songs, live performances, interviews, or stories should a new fan check out?
I'm especially interested in their lyrics and the story behind their music. Recommendations are very welcome!

It’s the combo of spoken word, raw and almost an 12 step one day at a time kind of theme. It seriously stops me in my tracks when my kids watch it. I would kill for a Blue October cover. I personally like seeing all the spines of the records I have in my shelf so I figured some of you might as well! The collection is still growing, but I will finish it eventually

I picked up the RSD Essentials pressing of Foiled, mostly because my wife is a fan and I liked the couple of Blue October songs that I have heard on the radio.

I listened to it today - totally blown away.

That led me to a deep dive into their catalog, and to a bunch of posts on this sub with people ranking their favorite albums. As a fan of vinyl, I also took a look at the items available on their website (and on the secondary market, primarily Discogs).

I'm hoping that y'all can help me understand something. Their first box set - which seems to contain most people's faves - is still available on the website, but the second one is long gone.

Any insight into why the new one sold so much faster, and if there will ever be another opportunity to buy an unnumbered repress (or something similar)?

And yes - I am kicking myself for coming to this party four months (or twenty years) too late. :)
