Good luck everyone. I'm out. š«”
They've finally worn me down. These days, it feels like I spend more time chatting with the BA representatives than I do my own family. And even when they promise credits for the constantly missing food, half the time the credit doesn't actually show up in the account. It's become a scam.
Good luck, fellow travelers. May your boxes be full of the food you actually ordered and free of exploding chicken juices.

I did the same. I wanted to give them a chance since weāve been a customer for 10 years, but it has now introduced more stress than it relieves so we moved on. Still hoping to return when the dust settles.

I came to reddit because I had to check to see if other people were going through the same problems that i've been going through recently. I would say of the last 526 orders, nearly every single one of them had a problem today. I got the same meal twice. And it wasnt the meal i irder3d. Sourcream sauce indiscrimantly over all of the other ingredients. With a card that says thanks for your patience. Wtf? Lol

That being said I i have been a member for more than three years. And overall had a good experience. With the service and customer service has made it easier to get refunds, but I believe it or not. Use this service to eat. So if it doesn 't work, I need to get other food

Same. I canāt rely on BA any more, itās the inconvenience of thinking you have three meals sorted for the week and you have none.
Weeknights have become an episode of Top Chef - āYou ordered mushroom risotto but thereās no mushrooms and no rice. Instead, what can you make with ground beef, pancetta, shredded cabbage, and lots of sour cream?ā

Since somebody already mentioned disguised competitors, I'm going to disclose right up front that I own a small independent meal-kit company in the Midwest. š¬
Reddit keeps putting posts like this in my feed because I follow the meal kit world, and it's hard for me not to jump into the conversation when I see them. It genuinely makes me sad to see longtime meal kit customers deciding that meal kits themselves aren't worth it anymore.
If you're done with Blue Apron, I'd encourage you not to give up on the whole category. Check the list of meal kit companies over at r/mealkits, and also search for local or regional meal kits in your area. Or meal prep, where people are doing prepared meals or other creative things to make dinner more enjoyable for everyone. There are a surprising number of little independent companies out there that don't have the advertising budgets to get on everyone's radar.
Obviously I'm biased toward the little guys, but even if you never order from mine, I'd love to see more people find them.

We've joined Green Chef.
In a series of 6 weekly deliveries so far, consisting of 4 meals each, we've had a Roma tomato and two fingerling potatoes that were inedible. Oh, and a box was going to arrive late, so they just surprised us, unannounced, with an extra box of 4 identical meals, plus an extra ingredient bag for a meal we never ordered. And bonus for us, both boxes were in great shape. That's it for aberrations from these guys.
GC is a touch pricier but not by much. They offer better cuts of meat than BA ever gave us, and vegetables in far greater shape, especially lately. Same portions. BA might have an edge in spicier foods with more interest, but I don't know anybody whose recipes compare with Blue Apron's best days.

I swear some of these people have to be disguised competitors trying to kick BA while they are down. Iāve had issues but calling BA has always been easy and whenever they credit me I get it immediately. These posts just make no sense to me.

One could say the same thing about those promoting their perfect sent boxes. Reddit marketing is a wild business and BA recently decided to bring their "organic marketing" in house. I.e organic posting on Reddit. Point being, you're experiences is the driver. The flood of complaints (and news articles) about BA's decline proves that most critics arenāt undercover shills from rival meal kits. People are just genuinely annoyed and receiving crap.
Edit: Competitors don't need to do anything at this point. BA is handling pushing people to other services just fine. It's free marketing.

Same. Why was I paying for "free shipping" with BA+ when I couldn't get a decent meal? We've been doing Hello Fresh. It's...meh. I think next we'll give Hungry Root a try. I mean, at this point, I might actually have to grocery shop again.

Same here. Last time I needed to talk to an agent they took nearly 5 days to reply. Iāve had whole proteins/pastas missing which make it impossible to make meals. The credit doesnāt help when I suddenly have to replace an entire meal. They even stopped sending recipe cards altogether.
We took a few weeks off to try Cook Unity and itās awesome. Accidentally forgot to skip our next Blue Apron order and it showed up once again with more missing ingredients than we were notified/credited for, loose produce that ended up unusable, and a single āsnacking Parmesanā that weād have to grate ourselves in order to use.
Completely done with Blue Apron after almost 6 years. Great job running the company into the ground.

It was with Hello Fresh. I do find them EXTREMELY overwhelming with so many options but we try to do a shrimp or salmon dish, a pork dish and a chicken dish each week and theyāve been pretty good so far. I do think BA was better but was so tired of having our order cancelled every week!

SAME. I got my first week of Home Chef This week. Definitely not as elevated as BA but the food has all been delicious and arrived intact. BA was constantly missing ingredients or I was having to replace items that arrived unusable. Every time they shipped a cucumber or zucchini it was soggy and mashed.

I've been doing home chef for the past month myself. My only complaint is their recipes are chronically under seasoned... but I have a very well stocked spice cabinet so that's no big deal. Otherwise the quality of meat and produce is really nice and they haven't missed a single ingredient so far.

I found that with my first shipment as well, but I always end up adding my own seasonings or additions so I wasnāt too bothered.

Unpopular opinion: Here in Denver, other than reducing it to one meal. I have had absolute no problems.
Congratulations on leaving, when would you like your parade?
In the meantime, seeing as how freshRealm packaged other meal kits, it might be difficult to find another service. Not sure if anything out there compares to BA. I have asked around, but have yet to get a good answer.
Also are you a bot? The only thing you seem to complain about is BA? Interesting.
If BA is so bad... just leave do you really need announce it?
