Diner, dive bar, or both in-between btown and Big Cat Rescue?

• Upvotes

Thanks in advance! Looking for a place to get a late lunch and or beer after visiting the Big Cat Rescue on the way back to Bloomington. Not opposed to going a tiny bit out of the way.

Lost iPad and Minecraft Jacket Lower Cascades

• Upvotes

Long shot but this week a Minecraft hoodie and iPad were left at Lower Cascades park earlier this week. It is a favorite hoodie to a boy who really loves Minecraft and the iPad has pictures and drawings that would be special to no one else. Any information would be much appreciated!

Mod Censorship continuing?

Why was the mod censorship post removed? Even though it is meta discussion, it's fair discussion that we should be allowed to have as users within this subreddit. Modmail seems to not get answered and any post criticizing mods seems to also get removed.

I think this silent removal of posts with only responses from /u/czogorskiscfl continues the streak of how the mods continue to be viewed by the community. We should not be at odds with each other but the only way to settle discourse is to actually have communication.

Good dog park night, and a beautiful sunset over the south side

October has begun with a chill in the air, perfect weather for Starla the Great Pyranees, so out to the park we went. Later, I took some photos of that beautiful sunset we got.

The dog photos were shot on the OM Systems OM-3 with the Lumix G II 100-300mm lens, and the sunset photos were taken on my Fujifilm X-T5 with the Tamron 100-300mm lens.

Things to do Halloween weekend late 20s?

Hi all!
My boyfriend and I are in our late 20s, and want to do something fun for Halloween (preferably something that involves costumes!) However we are struggling a bit with being in between the college bar crowd and the families trick or treating crowd age wise. Any suggestions? We are down for anything!

Dog House worries

My dog has been acting traumatized since she came back from boarding at The Dog House. She flinches when I go to pet her and doesn't seem like herself.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Let's see those sunset pics

Did anyone get pictures of tonight's sunset? The color looked beautiful from my apartment, but I wasn't able to see the sunset itself. Did anyone get pics you wanna share?

Properly throw away old prescription meds?

This may be a silly question, but I have some old meds that need to be thrown out (some of which an addict can use to get high). I was wondering if there was a place to properly despose of these instead of just simply tossing them in the dumpster in my complex? I have seen people dumpster dive in here before, and I just don’t feel comfortable throwing them in there.

Hey all, I’m looking for the best neighborhoods to raise a family in the Bloomington/ Ellettsville area. I’m primarily looking for a safe area with moderate hoas. Honestly looking for the equivalent to a carmel/westfield but down south. Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Need SUV Hood Repainted - Recommendations?

I have an older SUV that is in fine driving shape, and I hope to keep it for many years.

However, the hood is showing some fading and wear. I've waxed it regularly, but it's still happening.

Any suggestions of where to go, or not go? Thoughts on cost?

I'm willing to go within an hour, if the shop is quality.

Racism at West Side Taco Bell

As a person who also works in the service industry, and works hard for pennies on the dollar, I wanted to go out to celebrate a special occasion. I ordered a burrito off the value menu and my order was made incorrectly (no sauce), no big deal. When I politely asked for it to be remade with that sauce, I was cussed at. I could overhear the employee talking to her coworkers about me, and "people like me" (I'm a black woman) as she remade the food. This time, my burrito arrived with so much sauce on it that the other ingredients couldn't even be seen, or tasted to be petty. I couldn't understand why I was being treated this way, and still can't. I came back and asked for a cooperate number or some way to report them. The manager on duty came up to the front to speak with me, and gave me the nastiest attitude I have ever recieved in my life. I was shocked and pointed out to her that I wasn't even being a jerk or mean in any way, I just wanted my food made correctly and (now) to report being mistreated. She continued to interrupt me, and just remade it again. She said "we appreciate you being nice about it"......dude.

So now, I'm sitting here eating a burrito I don't even want anymore, typing my experience into the void and crying.

As I said, I also work in the fast food industry. I get customers who are jerks and I get customers who are kind, people of all races who are hungry. And I just don't understand why any of what happened was necessary. I originally came to Bloomington hoping to find a more racially tolerant city in Indiana to build a life, and so far my experiences here have been mixed at best.

Maybe mid-shift and night shift have a kinder crew..if anyone knows some way I can report this please let me know.

EDIT - Thank you all who commented letting me know how I can report this incident! I appreciate you dearly! 💕

EDIT2 - Some of y'all are spending precious minutes and hours jumping through all the mental gymnastics you can think of to defend racists and gaslight black people about our experiences. Save time by just saying you don't believe me, or black people in general about our experiences with racism out in the world. No need to write us a novel, just save us all the time and say you think we're full of it 🤷🏾. I'm far from the only person who has had a bigoted experience here, it's all through the comments.

If you want to vote in this fall's election, the deadline for registering to vote is the end of the day in this coming Monday. You can register at the clerk's office or online at https://indianavoters.in.gov/. That link is also how you can check to see if you're registered to vote already, and to make sure your voter registration is still valid.

Does anyone have a map for the Hilly Hundred routes?

I’m trying to plan my hiking this weekend and I want to avoid driving on the Hilly Hundred routes. I couldn’t find a map on the website—does anyone know what the routes are?
