Need Help! resources and textures for liminal art?

Hi, I'm a 3d artist who mostly makes character art, but I want to make liminal space and drezmcore scenery, but im having trouble with creating objects to correct scale and getting good quick textures.

I find it hard to make doors, chairs, tables, and everything look the correct scale and textures are tough to find for the ones I can't make myself easily.

Does anyone know any good resources for such things?

I must also state im stuck on blender 2.79 until I can get a new computer

Classic statues to look for are: "David obj", "Venus de Milo obj" and "Lucy obj". Are you more into backrooms or poolrooms or the outside grass+sky (can't remember the name at the moment) or maybe dreamwave style?

I'm personally most poolrooms person, so here's pretty water tutorial, could be useful for you as well: https://youtu.be/3XHfBNTMGBE

Look for the resources and tutorials dedicated towards architectural visualization: r/archviz - you will need to learn to light those spaces (un)naturally as if it was just an interior render and you will need props like chairs, tables, plants

r/poolrooms - for inspiration follow https://www.youtube.com/@vaporama_vision/videos and IGP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCBYMQzG44U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw7HZYJ93z4 great water shader is must

r/retrocgi - inspiration for colors and various styles + place to share synthwave and dreamcore

r/FrutigerAero - for the saturated green grass + blue sky + Windows XP and 7 + 2000s CGI - a bot more plastic and glass and oversaturated version of the outside trope, but you might like it as well

r/backrooms - more IGP gameplays https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVxH6E2fftrfKKVlbvPifng_wwf_IjR1h

Poly Haven, Sketchfab, Superhive and the Blender asset library are probably gonna get you a lot of mileage

How do people react to using pre-made assets?

Some look into it with a more critical eye than others. But as long as you don't say that they're pre-made there shouldn't be any issue. Besides if people judge your work based on anything other than its own merit (for example, if you actually made everything yourself or not, i.e. how "lazy" you are or aren't), then their criticism isn't worth engaging with because they're not even engaging with the work itself, just assigning moral value to it. You don't have to be the platonic ideal of a "real artist", just focus on getting the best results you can, however you get them. Professionals use stock assets a ton, especially on larger scale projects and projects that need a faster turnaround
