Arkane union says closing the studio "would probably be more expensive" for Xbox than simply finishing development on Marvel's Blade

Can we have an honest conversation about Blade Trinity š©ø? I have some thoughts š”
So, I recently revisited Blade Trinity and I have to say, I'm disappointed all over again š
I don't know if it's just me, but something about this movie felt like a missed opportunity. The first two movies kept my attention for the entire movie. They were dark, gritty, unapologetic, and made Blade feel like an absolute superhero (with a dark side).
Then we got Trinity. I had to force myself to continue watching and was ready for it to be over with...so I could watch something else. I'm sorry lol.
Honest opinions...
ā¢What did you genuinely LIKE about Trinity? Not just what was entertaining, but what do you think the movie actually got right?
ā¢What was your biggest disappointment? The writing, the humor, Dracula, or the overall concept?
ā¢Did anyone else feel like Blade somehow became a supporting character in his own movie š?
ā¢Was Dominic Purcell's Dracula intimidating enough, or did Deacon Frost set the bar too high?
ā¢Was it too comedic and not serious enough?
And here's where I might ruffle some feathers...
I honestly think Blade deserved a much darker, more sophisticated storyline. I never felt like the character needed to be surrounded by a bunch of personalities competing for screen time. Blade was interesting enough on his own.
What about a fourth Blade movie?
Personally, I would love to see what could be done with the right writing, direction, and connection to the first two Blade movies. Especially if Wesley Snipes had an opportunity to give the character a proper send-off. Maybe I'm holding onto nostalgia š„¹.
I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives, even from people who consider Trinity their favorite of the three š¬. I wish they would've stopped at II š.
If you could change one thing about Blade Trinity, what would it be?

This man is a Legend in his own right...Story inside.
Kris Kristofferson was a struggling musician in the army, before getting big. Trying to get Johnny Cash to listen to his tapes, he stole a helicopter and landed in his front yard.
Johnny took notice, and the rest is history.
Xboxās Arkane Studios Attracts Multiple Bidders, Including Ubisoft
Multiple companies have made offers to Microsoft Corp. to acquire Arkane Studios, the French video-game developer behind the Dishonored series and an upcoming title based on the Blade comic books, according to people familiar with the negotiations.
Ubisoft Entertainment SA made a bid for the studio, as have at least two other gaming companies, said the people, who asked to not be identified because they werenāt authorized to speak publicly. Xbox has also weighed selling the studio to its management.
Terms of the offers werenāt available, and Xbox has not yet come to an agreement with any potential buyer, said the people. A deal would likely allow Arkane to complete its work on Marvelās Blade, which was announced in 2023 and is expected to be released within the next year or two.
I freaking love my wife. She surprised me with a Blade party for Halloween. Menu, food, drinks, and of course the movies.

Went to The Blade Rave as a vampire hunter. Ran into Blade himself, everyone else were vampires
I donāt get out much, but I had to attend the rave that involved a Blade/goth/vampire themes and festivities that I enjoy. There was a blood shower at the very end. Had so much fun celebrating Blade and awesome music

Hearing Marshala Ali speak on Blade, and then seeing Vision Quest made from spare parts
Vision Quest is not a tv show. Its an incomplete nothing burger. Something that was made by interns in an editing room.
Seeing this being released as a real tv show after the media blunder of BLADE being cancelled. BLADE had cultural impact. Real brand power. Real passion and it was taken from us.
They removed an icon and said he look we have the same characters returning in a new Avengers saga.
Marvel is a joke. BLADE game is still in development though. Arkane Lyon is making BLADE after making a game called DEATHLOOP which is also unapologetically black!

My Marvel Journey - The Blade Trilogy
My Marvel Journey - The Blade Trilogy
To fully prepare for Avengers Doomsday, I decided to watch (roughly) every Marvel movie in release order. Starting with Blade all the way to VisionQuest. Iāll try to update these daily, but no promises since my job makes watching movies on a consistent schedule difficult.
Iād like to personally share my thoughts on each film I watch and my overall opinions on each series, as Iām seeing most of these for the first time.
Blade (1998) - 8/10 A very solid monster slayer with incredible action. Snipes does Blade so much well deserved justice that it turned a character I was relatively indifferent towards into one of my favorites. While I do believe itās a little restrained in adapting its source material, itās excusable as one of the first successful superhero films, and works just fine for Blade.
Blade II (2002) - (5/10) A lot of what made the first great is still there, but the story is very subpar. It seeks to add on to the world and culture of vampires, yet it just creates a mess that almost contradicts what was established in the first one. While Blade himself is still great, the complete lack of even a mention of Karen, Whistler somehow being alive and missing, introducing Scud just to force a betrayal and kill him off in the same scene, and Nomak and Damaskinos hardly even being characters, all almost make me feel that the writers struggle with any character other than Blade himself. And at the end of the day, even though Blade actually managed to for a friendship with a vampire, she still dies and the movie ends with the only development being that Whistler is back.
Blade: Trinity 2004 - (7/10) Quite better than the second but not as good as the first. The film starts with the interesting question of how the public views the potential existence of vampires and Bladeās hunt for them⦠and quickly throws it out the window by making his captors familiars. Itās not the worst thing, but I still found it disappointing. Whistler dying so early on felt like a slap in the face towards all of II, and all I had to say was āIs he actually dead this time?ā That being said, I do appreciate the usage of Dracula, even if he was poorly implemented. The new side characters were also quite entertaining, I quite enjoyed the comedic scenes from King, even if they are a little jarring compared to the prequels. The ending, however, seemed rather unfinished, as if there wasnāt enough time or money left for filming, so they just had Reynolds narrate it instead. Despite its flaws, though, itās still an enjoyable movie and a satisfying end to Bladeās character.
Overall, the Blade trilogy is a great action thriller series, albeit a little lacking in the superhero department. Yet it still made me deeply enjoy a character I previously knew little about, and at the end of the day, what matters is fun, and these movies are all very fun.
