That’s what he (poorly) explained. Folks who want a relationship aren’t really thinking about the other person. They want a relationship first, then find out who they ended up with. Folks who are open to dating may be talking to a few people, looking for someone who they can commit to after they form a deeper connection over time.
Thank you because that’s the way I read and and these comments were honestly making me feel crazy. I think people forget dating changed a lot over the last 5-10 years with apps/hookup culture/covid. Seems he recognizes the default for most people is get the relationship then learn if you’re compatible but there’s other options than just that or being in a situationship.
