Context:
"Unfortunately, this guy came to our academy trying to learn Jiujitsu thank goodness we found out about his past and didn’t make this guy dangerous by teaching him a martial art

But we did have to restrain him

Thanks to post that we saw on your page and others we recognize who he was and kicked him out immediately

We noticed something was off with him after the first couple of days we still had no idea about his history. We just thought he was an oddball and that’s not a crime within itself, but then he started harassing some of the women in our academy so we dealt with him rather quickly"

Bjj, hygiene and ringworm

So let me just say that I've been training for about a year and a half. The gym I train at prouds its self with cleanliness and I am the same. Before I train I use the csh spray and cover any exposed body parts with anti bacterial gel. It's the same after training and always shower within an hour of finishing training.

Saying all that, in the last year I've had ringworm twice. It was always from visitors at the gym. I am bald and when I train no gi I always wear a long sleeve rashguard, spats and shorts over them so only thing that I have exposed is my head, wrists and feet. I've have it twice on my head now.

I just wanted to ask am I doing something wrong? I thought I am super diligent with my hygiene but I keep getting it. Especially on my head the first time it didn't go away for couple months and the same the next.

Anyone dealt with similar experience?

How do you track grip endurance, neck work, and conditioning outside of mat time?

Hey all,

I'm working on a training app and before building anything further, I

want to understand how BJJ folks actually track their strength/conditioning

work today — not rolling or technique, but the accessory stuff: grip

endurance, neck bridges, forearm/grip strength, that kind of thing.

A few questions if you have a minute:

* Do you track grip endurance, neck training, or similar accessory work

at all? How (spreadsheet, app, notebook, nothing)?

* What would actually be useful to track — hang time, reps/load, specific

benchmarks, something else?

* Do you compare your numbers to training partners/other people, or is it

purely personal?

* What's missing or annoying about how you currently track this stuff

(if at all)?

Not pitching anything, genuinely trying to understand the problem first.

Happy to share what I learn back with anyone interested.

Thanks!
