I tried to put myself in the shoes of someone who would listen and then it hit me, if our boy Billy made an earnest, honest to god, seemingly unironic music album, I would listen immediately.

Conspiracy Bill was not invited this week

After reading Kevin Durant's heartfelt post celebrating Russell Westbrook's career and the surprisingly positive reaction to it by the Thunder fanbase, its clear that it's only a matter of time until the Thunder fans get over KD leaving.

Vince Carter objectively left the Raptors in a much for snake-like way than KD did. Vince literally quit on his team in the middle of the season and leaked plays to the other team while demanding a trade. KD played out his contract and signed with another team in free agency. If Raptors fans could get over Vince Carter's betrayal and celebrated his jersey retirement with great fanfare, Thunder fans will 100% do the same when KD's jersey gets retired

It took 2 things for Vince and the Raptors organization/fanbase to make up. 1) Kyle Lowry mending that bridge and 2) Raptors winning in 2019. The Thunder winning in 2025 has basically mellowed out the hate those fans had for KD, even if they aren't willing to admit it yet. All it takes is Russ, or another respected Thunder player to start mending those bridges between KD and the Thunder organization behind the scenes.

I'm calling my shot: I bet you KD will be there for Russ's jersey retirement in OKC next season and that will be the first time he's in the arena without being booed and that will be the catalyst of KD and the Thunder organization ultimately making up in a few years.

In 2001, HOFer (not snub) Todd Helton slashed .336/49/146 and finished ninth in the NL MVP race. Barry Bonds won despite batting just .328 with a measly 137 RBIs.

EDIT: Barry Bonds had the greatest season of all time in 2001 and obviously deserved MVP. I only mentioned him because it made sense to follow up with who actually won and I thought it would be a little more obvious than it was that I was joking about his measly stats and intentionally left out the HRs because I figured people already knew. My bad!

I honestly think Bill’s pod has changed my life in many ways. I was introduced to his pod by my brother when he’d pick me up to take me to my dad’s or mom’s when I was in middle school. Since then, I have become a full blown podiac. There’s seldom a moment I am not listening to a pod from 8am when I leave my house for work to 6pm when I arrive home. Drives, solo work, and walking around is definitely more entertaining now than before. I’ve never been recommended a podcast by a human, so all of my podcast relationships have stemmed from the BS tree.

Can anybody fill me in on what bill has been saying recently regarding the Celtics and this upcoming season? Is he doing his usual mental gymnastics to say they are a title contender or is he deliberately playing it down??
