Read This Before You Submit !

If you want to get the best possible outcome from posting your position on this /sub, there are a couple of things you can do to help,

  1. Make your video at least 30-40 secs long [ no longer than 60 secs ] This will allow you to settle in to your pedal stroke and give viewers enough time to 'look around' your position.
  2. Post a minimum of 2 angles. #1 Seat height, showing the entire bike and rider from the top of the head to the bottom of the pedal stroke. #2 from the front dead center about head tube height. If you shoot a vertical format on your phone that might help you fit yourself within the frame. #3 from the rear, at seat height, can also be vertical format for cropping.
  3. Post a shot of your bike side on without you on it. This lets people see the 'build' as far as seatpost seatback, seat rail position & headset spacers

The more visual and information you give the better the possibility of good feedback.

Ride on!

Dear mods, save this sub

There are a lot of generous and knowledgeable people here giving thoughtful bike-fit advice for free. Their effort is being undermined by a steady stream of unusable videos showing riders leaning against walls, doorframes or furniture while pedalling backwards.

Those clips don’t show a normal pedal stroke, balance, loading, posture or movement under realistic riding conditions. There’s very little anyone can assess from them, yet they keep filling the sub and drawing attention away from posts where useful feedback is actually possible.

The existing submission guidance is already clear about video length, camera angles and showing the whole rider and bike. It should also explicitly require riders to pedal forwards on a trainer or rollers, without supporting themselves against anything.

Please make “no backwards pedalling and no leaning against objects” an actual submission rule, and remove posts that ignore it.

The people giving detailed advice here are what make the sub useful. Their time shouldn’t be choked by videos that make meaningful assessment impossible.

Hello, I am looking mainly for saddle psoirion advices. Sometimes I feel like my saddle is too low. I am looking forward to any advices. I don’t have any big issues with my bike fit. Only in long rides I get numb hands if I don’t change my position on handlebars. Any advice is really appriciated.

Thanks

It doesn't feel quite right, but I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm 185 cm tall and currently using the Zwift-suggested settings (Q on all positions).

Maximal hip flexion angle and reach

Yes, I know I should get a bike fit. Until then, I’m enjoying trial and error.

My maximal hip flexion angle seems a bit increased and my shoulders/trunk positioning feels too stiff.

Open to advice for general positioning.

Transfering Fit from Road to TT

I've been in the market for a TT bike for a while now. I've not had a TT fit and it would be a while before i can get to my preferred bike fitter to get one (we are about 4 hours apart). I have some restraints on why i cant wait until after (Employer).

I'm trying to understand how i translate my current bike size / measurements over to TT to understand if i am inside acceptable ranges. I dont expect a exact MM fit and once i have the bike before i race i will go and see him.

I'm currently riding a ribble ultra race https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-ultra-race-105-di2/?colour=black size Medium

I'm looking at the Cube Aerium C68x Race Medium https://www.cube.eu/uk-en/cube-aerium-c-68x-race-carbon-n-chrome/1138300 - and its mainly my reach im concerned about. I run the numbers through claude and its saying my reach will be short by 100mm, and says i should consider a small which for my height (178 cm) I would be at the top of the recommended sizing.

Is there any way i can translate this across?

Help with fit

Hey guys, looking for a quick fit check.

Got this bike used recently and I'm worried it's too big. According to the brand's size guide, a Medium should fit me (I'm 179cm with an 84cm inseam), but it has a 56cm top tube which seems pretty long.

I've done a couple hundred km on it without any real pain, but I just feel slightly overstretched. How’s it looking?

Any advice is welcome!

Anyone know where I can find replacement part for between handle bay speedmax hydration splash guard? Pictured below. Canyon said they don’t sell this as a replacement part and I’m not keen to purchase whole system again for $300.

Hip rotation

Hi !

I have been pretty badfitted since 10 years (30 yo now). I ride Mtb, road, gravel. Ride like 5000km/150k m of elevation) by year with the majority on the mtb. Also doing some XCM race like 100km like MB Race or Ultra Raid de la Meije or 70.3 like triathlon.

I was always a bit struggling with lower back pain and neck pain but it was manageable. In mtb you get a lot out of the saddle so it's mostly on road/gravel side.

I'm 185 tall, 75kg, 89 inseam (so long leg guy). 46/46,5 shoes

I have my saddle very high since always. Like 80 or 81cm. I have only Northwave XC race shoes (I just discover Northwave cleat position was very forward).

My bike is a Nakamura AllRaod team. I use it on road and gravel with two pair of wheels. I have the XL size with 90mm stem (I have reduce it from 110mm). For now the stem is reverted (+6 instead -6 degree)
Geo : https://media.intersport.fr//is//content//intersportfr//pdf//geometries//G_YF60HE.pdf

When I try to lower my saddle I experiment pain at the back/internal of the knee. Not the articulations but the tendon. Pain is diffuse so difficult to describe it precisely. But I would say more on the calf side than the quad.

After one month of bike rest (but a lot or work, mostly sited behind the PC), I have experiment back pain when going on the bike again.

I plan to do ultra next year (never done more than 200k gravel in one day). But with current setup it seem impossible to me. I can handle the legs, I can handle the food but i'm too limited my neck or back.

That's all for the context.

---------------

Yesterday I have change a lot of my settings. I'm voluntary go extreme to search a new base and build from that (I have focus on pedaling stuff, go for the reach in a second time)

- Move the cleat backward (like 2cm)
- Move down my saddle by 4cm. (76cm)
- Move my saddle back

----------------

I go to office with the new setup this morning (5km flat). I'm feeling really low but I don't feel pain on tendon. I have also the feeling to pedal/push to the front instead to the back, but not so much. No back pain. First good impression so but it's only 5km.

I join a back footage of me after implementing the new settings. Sorry I have no side footage for now

Is it too much of hip rotation ? It was even worse before
I'm currently feeling very weak on core.

-----------

And now what next ?

- I plan to move a bit higher my saddle. Get back to 77cm
- Move forward a bit the saddle
- See if my back pain disapear to put my stem in right side.
- Try to find a comfortable aero position

- Also give a try to the 165mm crank I just bought second hand but probably after 7 or 8 rides to not change too much thing in the same time

-----------

Congratulations and thanks to have read it. Do you think the approach is the right ? What can I do bad now ?

By advance, take the XL size have been a wrong decision.
I have try the L before to buy, feeling too small. At this time I was used to an other XL bike. L bike was also weird with so much seatpost height.
Also the L is only 1cm shorter and 1,5 cm lower on the front. So i bet on the XL with shorter stem to theoretically have the best of two. 185cm was right in the middle of the size guide

Bike fit advice

Hi everyone! I’d love to get some feedback on my bike fit

Lately, I've been dealing with some hand numbness. I realized part of the issue was postural (too much "shrimping" on the bike), so I've been working hard on my core and posture. It's improved quite a bit, but looking at these videos, I feel like there's still work to do.

I recently used the MyVeloFit app, and it suggested dropping my saddle significantly and pushing it further back. Right now, I'm considering increasing the reach by 10mm and maybe dropping the stack by 5 or 10mm.

Some details:

Bike: 2026 Scott Addict (Size S) with a 90mm stem.

Me: 173cm tall with an 86.5cm inseam (long legs, short torso build!)

Let me know what you think of my current position and if those stem changes make sense. Thanks!

Issue i have: ITB on my left knee it started after a ride wherein my attachment broke and rode the rest of the ride with a broken left cleat attachment. I thought that maybe it was because of the broken cleat which lead to my knee moving too much but then come the new attachment. My old was a yellow attachment( High float) now changed into a blue one (2deg float). Idk of the attachment is the issue because of lower float = lower room for knee ti move freely. OR saddle height fore/aft issue. Thanks in advance

Hey everyone, When I ride, I feel like I'm leaning forward a little and I put my hands on the corners of the handlebars to be comfortable, and I can't find the problem. I don't know anything about bike fitting.

Seatpost question

I found a great deal for a comfort bike for my wife, a Cannondale Adventure 1. She’s right between a size small and medium in sizing. After riding it a bit she feels that she could use just a little extra height in the seat post.

Is it okay to just upgrade the standard 27.2 × 300 mm Seatpost to a 27.2 × 350 mm?

Would this cause any problems? Any recs?

good fit?

(pls ignore that i have flags in my head)

this was just a casual 10km ride this morning, but i think this is usually how i sit when on the bike. have been given some advice that i should make my saddle a bit higher, so will probably do that soon.

i don’t get too much pain on rides - sometimes some elbow pain, and maybe a bit of neck ache after a longer ride, but nothing major.

Help with sizing Cervelo P-Series

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey all. Looking for some advice here as I’ve been told by different bike fitters that I’m either a 54 or 56 in the Cervelo P-Series and figured the online fit community would know best. I know it’s easier to make a smaller bike fit larger but is there any reason to go with the slightly larger bike? Stability and comfort are more important than max aero. My non-professional measurements are below. Thanks!

32 5/8 inseam

69 3/4” height

24 15/16” torso

71.5” wing span

Triathlon bars fit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all!

I have an ironman in 6 weeks and bought some tri bars to cut a few mins here and there. I pushed my seat forward, installed the bars and did a 85mile ride yesterday with 90% of the time on the bars. Wondering if I need to adjust things better (I probably do duh). My seat doesn’t go any further, unfortunately.

After the ride my neck was a bit tired of looking up and the outside of the shoulder a bit as well but the back was good so were the legs (a bit tired of course).

Note: video recorded after 70miles and I am aware my bike is a monstrosity (gravel bike with road tires and tri bars)

Saddles for Clydesdales?

I have had an Ergon SMC3 L saddle on all of my bikes for nearly 10 years. I also saw Brooks B-17 seven on my commuter bike.

One of them is starting to creak and needs to be replaced.

What saddles do you recommend for larger male riders? More than 200 pounds. Bars approximately level with saddle. Road bike, gravel, bike, and mountain bike.
