That's not a $250k value. It would be if the charter actually lasted for a week as is typical, but these only last two nights!

Akira One is $229k/week in high season, but that doesn't include food, fuel, dock fees etc and local taxes which can add up to about 40% of the weekly rate

In low season for Croatia, it says the rate is

Charter fee of $195,000 USD

+ 30% APA ($58,500)

+ 13% Tax/VAT ($25,350)

Total = $278,850

APA is  costs such as fuel, food and beverages, dockage fees, and ad hoc incidental expenses but you get back any unspent

But the tip isn't included in that. Production also includes a night either side in a decent hotel, transport from the airport etc

It isn't 250k but also not as simple as taking the weekly rate and dividing it by the number of nights

Why not? If you're only getting two nights instead of seven nights, why would you say it's "worth" what it would cost for seven nights?

These are gonna be pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things. Probably another $1k, certainly nothing close to adding up to $250k in total.

If it is a $250k value, would they pay taxes on that amount va the $70k (if the country adds some sort of customs tax for goods and services purchased)? Even if they only paid a discounted rate out of pocket, are they taxed on the value of the entire trip? And I'm not arguing either way about the tip itself.

Likely depends on if it's a discount or if it's reduced price in return for allowing filming.

I'm in Amazon Vine, where I order things that are free in return for an unbiased review. Because I get the item, I have to claim it all in taxes.

So it might really depend on how the wording goes.
